      There's 2 things that really stuck with me while watching the video. Hassan had a handful of instances where he resorted to name-calling and ad-hominem attacks, but Willy avoided name-calling in his immediate responses. But instead of derailing the conversation, he just shrugged off the lame insults and stayed on topic.
      The other thing I thought made him look really good, was when Hassan asked Willy to tone down any Tos violating language (Willy said something about sperging out, which apparently, is ableist language). Willy actually agreed to avoid using terms that could get the stream flagged or demonetized and treated the request seriously. And when Hassan expressed some surprise that Willy was so cooperative, Willy said something like, "Well, yeah, I mean... this is your job. I don't wanna do anything to jeopardize that". I dunno, I just find that type of humility very refreshing... especially in an online environment.

      People like Hassan and Vaush on the other hand, I just can't stand because they don't argue in good faith whatsoever, it's always point scoring and gotcha's. Hasan is 10x worse though because he's nowhere near as smart and just makes shit up on the spot and goes with it. Then when he's called out on it he behaves like a petulant child and all his minions come to his defence.

    It is fair to call out Ben Shapiro out on audience capture, but I think Hasan is on another level with it.
    Case in point is the last time Ethan of h3h3 and Hasan really talked on stream. At one point, Ethan talks about how Hasan's audience was going after him, and Hasan responds basically saying that Ethan must deserve it. Hasan in that moment reveals himself to be so spineless that he won't even raise a finger to defend someone who is _supposed to be his friend._
    This is one of the many examples of why I think that if fascism rises in the US, it is going to come from the left.

    • @bb_poison
      @bb_poison 7 месяцев назад +2

      I don't think either are dealing with audience capture, Shapiro is a lifelong conservative and actively sought to build his audience around that, same with Hasan. They like being the "thought" leaders in these domains. I also wouldn't be too doomer about it, right wingers are more pernicious in their old age, but Hasan fans are kids and kids will grow. Hasan has positioned himself as the highschool college radical activist icon and those people will move on. Why else do you think he has to queue up horror games, he has to keep appealing to kids in his stream so he can then pump them full of tankie talking points.

    • @FusionArmorX
      @FusionArmorX 7 месяцев назад

      @@bb_poison I would agree with you if the subject weren't the realm of real world politics. As much as they might "move on" later, that time is in the distant future at best. Hasan saying "You're not sure? How bout you get sure" is peak irony.

      i don't think it's irony per se. I think it rather shows that people like Destiny do research, while Hasan already has his ideology-driven narrative cemented in his stream.

    37:08 If Keffals can do it, Hasan should be able to as well. He's actively choosing to continue on the path he's started on.

    I wait 36-48 hours after Breaking News due to Nick Sandman, Kyle Rittenhouse, and George Floyd among so many others.
    A lot of Western Media is biased

    34:20 Not to nitpick, but Destiny doesn't actually answer this question. He just goes over the steps he takes to make sure he's not wrong.

      Yeah that's a shame, I would've liked to known what his process is.

    Meh I'm a libertarian wack job, so I watch Destiny not because I agree with him on a bunch of stuff (he has some good takes in my opinion) but as a check on my biases. It is good to have a healthy diversity of content to listen to to prevent just getting sucked into brain rot whirlpool that is the Internet these days.

    Can confirm the 1 destiny video conversion, so glad I have the ability to view all content with an open mind, Hasan was my introduction to the "left" until I saw how unhinged he was.

    People find it annoying when I correct minor details related to fact. Most of the time, I am correcting myself to avoid being taken out of context. Hasan has never learned to do that and he is the consequence of people brushing this characteristic off as being annoying or just autistic.
