Invading sovereign nations? Justified. Overthrowing democratically elected leaders and replacing them with fascist dictators? Good. All those civilians killed in the Middle East? Enemy combatants. 5 year old girl in Syria? Enemy combatant. German journalist working in red crescent hospitals? Enemy combatant.
We’re just hated for no reason. Why would Iran hate us? It’s not like we sponsor terrorist groups that kill their leaders. Why would the USSR hate us? We didn’t fight against their formation in the Russian civil war and then spend the next 80 years attempting to kneecap them economically and militarily at every step. Why would Vietnam hate us? It’s not like we dropped more bombs on them than was dropped in the entire western theatre of WWII and still managed to lose.

The path of death will remain an American war crime no matter what. happened
How to make a plot for a cod game:
UK and US good
The entirety of the middle east and Russia bad
It's just that companies can't make Americans outright villains when they are catering to Americans. It's not only bad business, but they would have gotten in MUCH worse shit than what they got now. Really it's a loss no matter what
White Wolf yeah two villains (Irons was a very good villain tho) the rest of them are Russian or from the Middle East
Kingster 14 then they shouldn’t say “we want to make a game of more a grey instead of the usual black and white” :/
How to make a good pilot:
US vs US
Russia vs Russia
Stalin did nothing wrong. Russia didn't kill anybody.
I like how the developer said it's gonna be morally gray and how MW1-3 was about great american soldiers.
Because in MW1 you're fighting a radical terrorist cell *with* the russians on your side and nearly set off a nuclear war because you didn't do good enough of a job.
And in 2 you're fighting a against a retaliation force because your own general decided that war is good for people, making you(unknowingly) the bad guy until the very end where you find out what's up with that.
And 3 just ties up loose ends and is kinda shit but keeps the spirit. I think. I haven't replayed it since release and i don't want to anyway.
Meanwhile new game takes everything US did to middle east, throws that onto Russia and is only missing "america fuck yeah" song.
I don't think I've seen a harder 180 in my life and I saw a guy almost die on a halfpipe doing one.
"I don't think I've ever seen a harder 180 in my life and I saw a guy almost die on a half pipe doing one" holy shit lmao
Ah yes mw 1 where you fight with the russians on your side .....against other russians said russians(the ones you are fighting ultranationalist) who were practicly russian taliban working hand in hand with the terroist not sadam hussain in actual iraq and sudi arabia and who later became the majority political party that split up the more radical elements stage an attack on their own people in. Order to ignite a war between russia and america((Shepard helped)) and 3 where russia invades all of europe and commits genocide
@@stevededicatdram8538
Remember, Makarov and Shepard manipulated Russia to invade after the airport attack where the US and NATO were framed for the slaughter. The entire conflict was a ploy for WW3, and both sides were played by their nationalist assholes.
MW3 just shows the conflict on a massive scale now that the Russians are also carrying out attacks in Europe as well. The entire plot was pushing them out of America as Delta force and trying to calm them down enough to have peace talks. Then makarov comes and fucks it up again

Lol, the actual highway of death didn't involve the bombing of civilians. Those were Iraqi military personnel performing an armed retreat from the country they invaded and fired on coalition forces. Not to mention that most of the vehicles were found to have been abandoned ahead of time. Why on Earth would Kuwaiti civilians try to retreat from their own country, when the only aggressors were the invading Iraqi army? Unless you're talking about raping and pillaging Iraqi civilians. The civilian trucks on the highway were stolen by Iraqi soldiers and were filled with looted goods. Calling the attack a "war crime" is ridiculous. I think some people confuse the Iraq wars, and just assume the whole thing was bad without thinking. That's not the case. Unless we're going to play the game of _"you can't be too mean to the aggressor because they're weak. Give them a chance to slaughter, rape, and pillage some more, first."_
There were civilians fleeing the war along with the retreating Iraqi Troops, the Coalition did kill civilians in the highway of death.

@@mingQWERTY not anymore really - now they call us whoosies for not being proud of what there is to be proud of apart from the 12 years of Nazi reign. And even then they praise a lot of inventions from that time and people that ended in the employ of US government agencies like Braun.
Really German is only a federal identity so most people will be proud of their people (Saxon, Bavarian, Thuringian, Frankonian...) or federal state/city.
Then there is the nut cases where people have a good perception of Nazis even tho they are scarce.
Also the enemy treatment mainly boils down to either the specific time slot of Nazi terror or successor governments on the moon or some shit so nothing associated with postwar governments usually. Whenever "Germans" ARE portrayed as the bad guys though it's usually in a deceptive or tech-savy but complicit way and usually some underground Nazi network or middle eastern cartel operating in Germany. Then there is the GDR which gets surprisingly little traction and most movies where the GDR is depicted as evil are from within Germany which is kind of odd - like there definitely is foreign made content too but nowhere near as much as German-made content. All in all I think we really like hating on our past ha ha.
In comparison to Russia Germans definitely get the benefit of the doubt - whenever Germans are depicted it's usually ideological or individual in nature. Whenever Russians are depicted it's ideological, systemic or corrupt with much wider implications of complacency and contemporary critique.
Of Nazis really where as bad as they are portrayed it is weird the war didn't end in 1941

And they got to a point we’re there next to russia
And if they get Ukraine there nuclear missiles would be in strike range of Moscow
Basically tactical missiles that can reach Moscow in five minutes or less with no warning
And Russia feels threatened so they invade Ukraine so they can stop it from joining NATO

Or demilitarised it n make neutral to Russia n nato
@@mbtenjoyer9487 That "agreement" was an informal vocal agreement made by a U.S. President to the USSR. The U.S. government do not have the right to make formal agreements on behalf of NATO and even if they did, the agreement would have been made with the USSR, not the Russian Federation. Nukes being closer to the border with Russia make absolutely no difference as both countries can easily reach each other with intercontinental nuclear missiles and both nations have nuclear missile detection systems as well as nuclear submarines, so MAD is guaranteed regardless of NATO's expansion. The only reason Russia want to prevent the expansion of NATO is so that their own expansion or reformation of a union project is still left on the table. Furthermore, the demands that Russia are issuing to Ukraine in order to end the war are ridiculous, how can we expect Ukrainian leadership to accept recognition of Crimea as Russian territory and the Donbas as independent, this is just ridiculous.

Justification for Rewriting History eh ? Straight out of Green Day - American Idiot.
Yeah, coming up with war crimes for your "vanilla Russian villain" is one thing, and is acceptable.
Rewriting the history, however, like the Highway of Death, is a whole different story and sets a dangerous precedent.
I'm with you on this one.
I would have loved to see a split campaign. Half Russian side, half US side, with some Peshmerga levels. Do it GRRM style, where nobody's really evil or really good.
Russian leader is a soldier following his orders for his country. American leader is the same. The Russians must crush opposition and an insurgency, and that means a lot of ugly up close killing, house to house, with infantry and tanks. Sometimes insurgents kill their buddies in the blink of an eye, and it makes dealing with civilians near impossible and always terrifying.
Americans do cool special operations shit and have drones, but the violence is intense and they'll go beyond ROE for their missions. They still operate and kill, knowing it'll kill and cause suffering for civilians, but it denies Russia strategic assets.
Then there are some levels as a Peshmerga, showing the realities of insurgency. This includes torturing collaborators, killing soldiers, and planting IED's where there will be civilian casualties. And following an ambush, they execute everyone surviving from the convoy.
That would have been Call of Duty really stepping up and giving a serious true to life war story.
