David Draiman has been quoted in interviews as far back as Disturbed's first album saying his favorite female singer is Ann, so he has always been a fan. She sent out a tweet several years ago praising one of Disturbed's songs and he reached out to thank her and they became friendly. This song was written about Dan Donegan (the guitar soloist)'s divorce, and after it was finished David thought it needed a female voice and they immediately thought Ann would be perfect. They asked her, she said yes, and that's how it happened.
Good reaction Biss. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. The good thing about RUclips, is that, not only are younger people finding out about the music we old farts made in our youth, but we are finding some gems amongst your music.
David is an amazing singer. Ann Wilson from heart is another amazing voice. She hasn't lost anything in her voice. This was a collaboration I didn't see coming but damn glad we got. They are incredible together.

you get two good singers together, magic happens...but am bias towards Ann. She's a literal Goddess in my books. She could sing a love ballet and the next minute a war chant before a battle and I'd be pumped ether way :P

If you'd ever been divorced the song and especially the video would resonate. Agree that there is nothing vocally outstanding about the song though, especially considering the talent of the two vocalists. I think Ann's voice is too far back in the mix after her verse, and generally on a duet she'd have some ad libs and wails but in fairness this song is not really the type to have those type of vocals.

This is kind of unrelated, but since you mentioned the "Sound Of Silence", I don't think you've done the original by Simon and Garfunkel, or any Simon and Garfunkel or Paul Simon. You should check them, or him out. "The Boxer" is one of my favorite songs of theirs. Basically, Paul Simon is a musical genius, and Simon and Garfunkel are pretty iconic, particulary for a certain period. They were friends as teenagers, started out as a duo, and have so many classic songs together. It's also usually thought that Paul Simon needed Art Garfunkel when he was young, because he didn't have the confidence to do it alone, but once they became famous, Art started to try acting, wasn't around as much when Paul wanted to work on the music he was writing, and Paul Simon finally decided to just do it on his own.

It seems the song is from 2022, so Ann Wilson (born 1950) was 71 or 72 when that was recorded. And she still kills it.

David contacted Ann about a year ago and asked her to due this project and she agreed to and what an awesome song they put together.
