Dad has one of these. Played it through a Leslie, and would totally rock out on it. Possibly the heaviest instrument I've ever moved. They call it a "portable orchestra" but I think the model number '305' is really that thing's weight in lbs.
Wonderful musical instrument and it has an excellent sound.... I want to listen every day! I need one Classic Vox continental electric piano like this! :)
If you're feeling rich, you could buy a Nord Electro 6D. I got one recently. It's a new Keyboard out on the market. One of it's specialities is emulating different kinds of Organs, including Vox. It has real Drawbars. The Vox model on it doesn't do the Harpsichord & Piano type sounds demonstrated in this video, but it sounds very realistic.
I think the sound is very good considering that this organ was made almost 50 years ago. Very different and could be used today with any solo or combo. Thank you for the great demonstration.
I have Hammonds (a '62 A-102 with matching Leslie 142, and modern Hammond digital organs), but always liked the sound of the Continental. I'd like to own an original Super Continental, but for now I have the modern digital Korg Vox Continentals 73 key and 61 key; my 61 key has an additional 61 key MIDI keyboard, which acts as the lower manual of a Super when in Vox mode, and as the lower manual of a tonewheel organ when in CX-3 mode. The Baroque was ahead of its time, it seems like a predecessor of the modern stage keyboard with similar, albeit limited, features and tone generation. Thanks for the great informative demo of a Baroque model in working order, rare indeed! Cheers!
Sun Ra used one of these mid-70s. almost exclusively for the Vibes voice. Lovely solo in that mode on his track "Discipline 99" on the Astro Black LP. Surprised he didn't use the spacey Carousel voice more. Great instrument, great video -- thanks!
I remember I bought one of these I was in a band in 1970 fantastic instrument we used to hook it up to a Leslie speaker system it was the best there was no comparison in my opinion
That's big money. The $400 for a Jaguar in 1970 was about $2650 today, and the $1500 for a Baroque is nearly $10,000 in 2020 dollars. It sounds nice, but you can get a lot more keyboard for that money today.
What a great organ. I just wish the price of those things would've fallen to the same degree as their larger counterparts. You can pick up organs all day at $100 but not these.
It's an eight-letter word that begins with "P". Plus, a six-letter word that begins with "D". Ok, you give up. Practice. Desire. How did you think anyone becomes good at anything?
The lower keyboard IS the original Vox Continental, but one octave wider plus it has an optional bass voice available. You're actually criticizing what it's played through.
Why bother with Harpsichord I and II when they sound identical? The other upper instrument voices all sound like krap with the possible exception of Cimbalom, which sounds kind of cool. Vibes are interesting as well. Celeste is not a celeste, but an interesting voice.
My favorite musician Evan Johns used that in all his show in the early 80s... you had to be there
Wow thats a sound/keyboard that I’ve certainly been looking for
This thing is fucking amazing, I had no idea effects like this were available in off the shelf products in the 60s.

DoYouSketch2 have your dad play inna gadda da vida on it!

Your playing skills are amazing! Brilliant demo overall. I didn't know a Vox Organ could do sounds like Harpsichord, Piano, etc.
Super órgano me gusta doble teclado hermoso sonido te felicito tacas muy bien

If it ain't Baroque, don't fix it!
O som desse instrumento é impactante.
F***** hell!!! This version is awesome.

now that's an organ! very nice demo!
...love Super Mario popping in at 4:21 :-) the carousel setting is so cool, and the knee bend made me lol...
Super mega cool sounds!! Thanks for this!
The vox continental sounds much better for me
The song that it worked the best for was the iron butterflies inagodadavida

Yeah only the organ sound makes its worth it
Haha, banjo Tetris!
Friggin sweet…☮🔥
Its got those mid-60's "combo organ" tones. Heres hoping you can tweak those settings.. ie sustain, etc.
Such an amazing organ! Love the chord combinations in this demo, especially those maj-7ths, what were the songs you were playing?

wah wah pedal for the knee
Cool :)
Coool my goodness god
2:11?
Anyone know the song at 2:13?
What is the harpsichord 1 and 2 song?
How did you learn to play so good? Any tips

Sell it to me. I’m worthy
I believe you're playing my mirage from iron butterfly st the 3 minute mark??
I just played some random chords and harmonies ... but hey, iron butterfly is great
Holy shit I just realized you're in men from spectre! And this channel is ran by Gerry German no?
Yepp :)
Gerry666 how did this guy learn to play like this? I want to play like him but don't know where to start
hmmn, nah. i prefer the original connie. this just sounded a little thin by comparison

...some of the sounds are like a broken video game. I can't take these. chelesta, chimbalon, and vibe are good.
2:56?
my own creation , I'm afraid. Or influenced by what I like ... probably

Well, ifs an old instrument that tries to mimic the sounds, but doesnt sounds identic I'll
Thing is: this is an awsome instrument ... and this video shows its capability. Every feature is representend
Your player isn't much of a player, is he?
haha thank you, the player
Don’t play us this shit! We want ‘Light My Fire,’ and ‘96 Tears.’
Shave your face!
