Actually it did hit his arm, the highlight videos shows poorly of the angle. BUT apparently there is a rule change that accidental handballs arent penalties. It is a penalty in my opinion. But there might be an argument for it not being a penalty, or whether he should have gotten a red card
Just look up on the different youtube channel, ball was hit his arm after be blocked and bounced from his thigh. It’s not intentionally but his hand raised up while he slid tackling the ball. Not sure about the rules when ball already hit by another part of body before touch player’s hand. But the RED CARD at this case obviously was a hard one to the Visitors Saudi’s better side to win, but no need to win this way.

This is a penalty only because the ball was going to the goal, not because the defender intentionally touched the ball with his hands. No yellow card, no red card!
Penalty decision was fine but the second yellow cards was a bit harsh. Saudi Arabia team was stronger and deserves the win but without that red card Vietnam could still hopes for at least a draw. Only Japan and South Korea are the only teams to seriously challenged the might of the European and South American teams and that too on a few occasions such as Korea did in the 2002 World Cup by beating Poland,Portugal,Italy and Spain on the way to create history by becoming the first Asian nation to reach the World Cup semifinals.
And we have Japan who so nearly pulled off a sensational upset against Belgium in the last 16 clash.They led 2-0 only for Belgium to crawl back from behind to win 3-2.And South Korea did Asia proud by sensationally upsetting the then Cup holders Germany 2-0.
Here I have to be blunt and frank.So far none of the South East Asian teams have convinced me that they have finally arrived at the Asian stage or the World Cup stage and that includes Vietnam,Thailand and other Asean nations too.
Remember too that South Korea and Japan have qualified for every World Cup finals.For South Korea since 1986 and for Japan since 1998.As for Saudi Arabia since the last two World Cups.
So where do Vietnam stand?Like Malaysia and Thailand Vietnam have still yet to play in the World Cup finals and that is a fact.And Vietnam too have yet to be the Asian Games and the Asian Cup champions something which Japan and South Korea have achieved.And then what about the Olympics.Japan and South Korea have won bronze and that cannot be said of Vietnam,Thailand,Malaysia and other Asean nations
So,it is a long way off for Vietnam to be accalimed as an Asian soccer power never mind about a world football power.

Noone understand referee with his first decision! This game have a lot of controversy on the first penalty and the red card for no reason. This match allmost of people believe Vietnam would have a draw at least with Saudi Arabia. The referee’ve destroyed this game. AFC must have investigates on the referee and Var team.

Actually it did hit his arm, the highlight videos shows poorly of the angle. BUT apparently there is a rule change that accidental handballs arent penalties. It is a penalty in my opinion. But there might be an argument for it not being a penalty, or whether he should have gotten a red card
Just look up on the different youtube channel, ball was hit his arm after be blocked and bounced from his thigh. It’s not intentionally but his hand raised up while he slid tackling the ball.
Not sure about the rules when ball already hit by another part of body before touch player’s hand.

This is a penalty only because the ball was going to the goal, not because the defender intentionally touched the ball with his hands. No yellow card, no red card!
Penalty decision was fine but the second yellow cards was a bit harsh. Saudi Arabia team was stronger and deserves the win but without that red card Vietnam could still hopes for at least a draw. I dont think Vietnam could hope to withstand those onslaught pressure for the whole match to keep their 1-0 advantage even with 11 players.
