🟣Hellabrunn Tierpark (Zoo)
- is a 40 hectare (99 acre) zoological garden in the Bavarian capital of Munich. The zoo is situated on the right bank of the river Isar, in the southern part of Munich near the quarter of Thalkirchen.
- ahigh ratio of enclosures are cageless, relying upon moat features to keep the animals in place. The zoo was the first zoo in the world not organized by species, but also by geographical aspects. For example, the wood bison share their enclosure with prairie dogs. (WIKIPEDIA)
🟣How to get there by PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
U3 (e.g. starting from "Marienplatz") to underground station „Thalkirchen (Tierpark)“, approximately 3 minutes footpath in order to reach the “Isar Entrance” (signposted).
MetroBus line 52 starting from the city (e.g. "Marienplatz (Rindermarkt)" and "Sendlinger Tor") to terminal “Tierpark (Alemannenstraße)”, right in front of the “Flamingo-Entrance”.
On weekends and bank holidays:
ExpressBus line X98 starting from Main Station to terminal “Tierpark (Alemannenstraße)”, right in front of the “Flamingo-Entrance”.
S8 starting from Airport Munich to terminal „Marienplatz“.
Then U3 starting from “Marienplatz” to “Thalkirchen (Tierpark)”.
