Fitted first one today so need to gen up on set up but hav3 to say LOVE the amount of panels we can put on the 3.6kw and fit battery later when client can afford one
Hi Keith, seem many of your youtube clips and find them very informative. I message you as I have a question I would like you opinion on... I have the following setup, live in the UK and would appreciate your help - Can I increase the W from the panels from 3.8kW to 5.9kW yet leave the export to grid as 3.6kW as I only have a G98??? • 3.68kW Hybrid Inverter • 2 x 5.1kW batteries • 14 x 425 Panels - 5.95kW - on two strings • G98 in progress to sell back to the grid at no more than 3.6kW The question is: 1. Can I up the “Max Solar Power (1000-12000)” to the panel max being 5950W??? 2. Keep the “Max Sell Power (0-3900W)” to 3600W What effect would this have on the system/ Inverter, as setting the 3.6kW back to the grid would restrict as per the G98 and coming into the inverter would be up to the max 5.95kW In my mind, unless it is not possible that this would / may provide more power to recharge the batteries and more to house if needed - I ask because the installer said that was not possible due to only having a 3.68kW inverted and only a G98.
I’m from Zimbabwe, next door to SA…, same issues with blackouts so would love one day to get this product. Price wise it makes sense to go for the 5Kw though
Hi Sunsyk. I got Easun 6200W 48v Inverter and 4x12v batteries. In your opinion what cable diameter you could recommend to connect inverter to the batteries?
Love your videos. Amazing passion. Question do I need an Eddie diverter for hot water? I have gas central heating. Or is it built in to the SunSynk inverter. Thank you
Good day, I hope you don't find this inquiry offensive but I find that your inverters have a very strong similarity to those made/manufactured by Deye... I just want to understand the difference & if they are a subsidiary
How comes the 3.6kw inverter can do 7.2kw solar systems when all your higher kw inverters can’t do twice it’s amount? I’m trying to decide about a 7.36kw system and a 6.48kw system and want to make sure I get the right size inverter.
Hi Keith. Should load/grid grounding be bonded with pv grounding? Secondly, are there regulations governing COC for solar installations in South Africa, and, if so, is there a standard COC guideline/checklist/certificate?
I have a 3kw system with this inverter on the first mppt, I want to add another 2kw to the second mppt does that mean it would need a g99 application or is It not needed as it only discharges at 3.6kw?
Getting Solar installed at my place next week, I opted for the SunSynk 8kVA Hybrid Invertor, the question I had is can I integrate is with home assistant?
I prefer the CT coil for export control as in most cases there is not space to mount an extra meter. We are not in the UK where we can mount/hide the meter in the airing cupboard. In most cases the DB board is mounted into a brick interior wall where its visible like kitchen or passage and is usually fully populated with circuit breakers and isolators making it problematic to add a switch without major building alterations. Also getting cables into the DB board is not easy as most of the conduits are full so a thin two pair twisted or thin screened cable for the CT coil can still fit in the conduits.
Hi Keith, I've read the manual but is there any way of using a CT clamp when there's about 40m from the proposed inverter site to the meter tails? Interesting situation... leaseholder and the freeholder will not allow the inverter or batteries inside the property or loft space. It would breach the lease. Also freeholder is throwing up hurdles over having solar panels on the "shared" roof. So looking at a car port on the driveway instead.
May I ask what would you recommend. I have 9.6kw of solar cells on the roof in two strings. What model inverter should I get to supply the house and battery in single phase.
Hi Keith, I already have a non-hybrid Solis system working well, but i would like to add a battery. My system has the Myenergi Eddi for hot water storage and this also works well. Is the Eddi compatible with the Sunsynk inverter? Or does it already have that functionality built in? Thanks
ok, I'm getting this stuff, it's making a lot of sense. my question is, is there a limit to the GRID power throughput at all? Is this something I need to be worried about? For example, If I have an original Main Circuit breaker, that has a main circuit breaker of 250amp, and if I use an average of 40kwh a day, do I have to worry about the amount flowing through? Is it correct to say that the 3kw, 5kw, 12kw inverters are purely about the PV size? and not the amount on Grid AC that is moving through them? I guess I've given myself a mental block and fearful of buying a small inverter, when my house uses a lot of energy from the grid every day. I hope I'm asking this question correctly. FYI, I only have 3kw of solar, and I bought a 5kw inverter. I know it's not enough to power the house, I'm just augmenting it. I'm just concerned that the Inverter will have issue with the Grid throughput. or am i worrying about nothing?
Hello, I have the same inverter and it works very good for the first week. But my installer put the CT in the opposite direction not to point the inverter, to the billing meter. For me is very important to have zero export to grid. In the installer manual it is writen that if CT is in wrong possition in the information table CT will have negative ( - ) value, my is with possitive watts. Do you think I have to reverse it?
So can you be clear as I cannot see a sensible answer anywhere. The 3.6 ECCO had a dual MPPT up to 7000w….so assuming you fit 7000w of panels and it’s a sunny day what is the maximum solar input you would see on the app or the LCD ? Some documents show it should be 4680w, other say as it’s only a 3.6kw inverter you’ll only ever see that, others say 7200w for solar input. Who’s correct ? I’ve never seen mine about 3800w
Keith i have a system of 3.2kw array using 8 x 400 watt sharp solar panels . 3.6 kw inverter and 5.2.kw battery both sunsynk. Could the inverter handle another 4x 400 0r 450 watt sharp solar panels to produce more electricity in the winter when we don't fill up the battery in the November/Dec /Jan and February months.
@sunsynk So if I quote to install this 3.68kw ECCO inverter with 5.5kwp of solar panels, with a 5.12kw battery, do I need a g98 post approval? As this is still limited to 3.68kw export? Or do I need a g99/g100, as it has a dc coupled battery and more solar panels?
The agile tariff’s API’s do not communicate with this inverter if you try to initiate live pricing in the app. So don’t make the mistake of selling this thinking you can force charge cheaply and sell back at a price that suits you.
If I install the inverter far away from the mains incomer is there a CT clamp that is Wi-Fi , how will the inverter know when to use the battery cheers.
I have 6.4kW system. Am I right in the fact I should have had the settings changed to 7000w maximum from solar? It was fitted with the setting at 3600?
Yes I did. They updated my firmware. I have 16 x 415 panels into this inveter and have seen over 5600w ( previously it was limited to 3600 ) and it’s winter so I assume I’ll see more in the summer. All in all I think this equipment has halved my bills
If you have 7kw on the roof and 3.6 kw inverter and no battery .because it was installed to avoid DNO. How does this help. I guess it doesn't. It only helps if you add a battery
@@sunsynk Hi Keith. If i parallel 2 of my Sunsynk inverters to double my output from 3.6kw to 7.2 kw for my household loads, then can i still use both sets of mppt controllers to split my additional (fragmented) PV array over the (2x2) 4 MC4 circuits giving me 4 independent strings ? Also, how is the battery charging accommodated ? can both inverters charge together (giving say 180 amps) ? If not then ( keeping cables equal length) do we link the battery busbar paralled outputs to the master only ? Additionally will both inverters need a CT coil connected to the supply tails ?

Did you get any info? We've just had 17 panels with a 3.6kW inverter and 5.12kWh battery and I'm suspicious the inverter is undersized.
