    Wow, you’d never expect that kind of condition in ANY 34 year old car. Absolutely beautiful.

    Hard to believe there is so little of these cars left. Along with the Escort, the Sierra I remember seeing EVERYWHERE growing up through the 80s and 90s.

    What memories when she fired up sounding like a tractor🥹 never wanting to go to school but being forced into my dads Sierra D518 YUY and dropped off at the gates 😋 I don’t know why but I just remembered party bags from McDonald’s ghostbuster crisps and he man figures!! 80’s ❤️Thanks for the nostalgia 👌🏼

    Those were the stereotypical minicab in the 80's. Probably why so few exist today - cabbies really do the miles.
    The Sierra was dependable, inexpensive and comfortable enough to drive all day, all year.

    If we weren't inspired by nostalgia it'd be worthless now. But we are.

    Lovely example and to think these were once so common

      Yeah it's in remarkable condition. A full detail would bring this to another level and make it stunning.
      I don't think that Sierra diesels in GL trim were ever very common back in the day. Most were base spec or L at best cause most were bought and used as taxis.

    Wow, this was a burst of nostalgia, my dad had one of these during the early/mid 90s...
    Clearly didn't become one of the remaining 3 that survived

    This looks better than my Sierra Sapphire F plate which i had in 1999! That was the 1.6L petrol which actually was a higher BHP than this....and it was not fast at all. Mine was the same colour too, looks ao familiar to me 😊

      I had a G 1.8L, My first car. That CVH engine was a reliable brute. The only thing that killed it was the timing belt broke. Other than that it had done well over 144K miles and never failed to start. I'm guessing it's closer to 244K to be honest. Hydro stalled it a few times but waited for a while and it fired right back up. That engine could run on almost anything I put into it. The interior was like new. Outside it was a sunbleached rustbucket. I loved that car though, still do.

    How does a 36 year old car manage to look like a nearly new car??? Even the sills look in good condition
    In 2024 I only see about one Sierra a year, usually restoration projects....they are worth a lot now

    What a dull and monochrome interior those mk2 Sierras had, not even any electric windows or rear seat pockets for what was the second from top of the range model, that's mean!

    • @Samspianopage
      @Samspianopage 9 месяцев назад

      Actually I think it was only the 3rd model up. Not sure if ye gad the GLX & Ghia trims ab9ve this. However i agree with the dull interior even the Ghia didn't have much fancy wee bits to distiguish it from the lower spec trims.
      Atleast the Escor & Orion, Granada had wood door cappings & other wee bits n bobs 😃😃😃😃.
