How do you build your shaker doors?? I consider myself more traditional when it comes to knocking these doors out, 22mm mdf with 9mm panels of finsa hidrofugo
You made yourself a template Dave, great 👍🏻 Then rather than use it for working out your panels, you arsed about. Follow? It’s a working drawing, make it work 👍🏻
Fantastic job and by far the best way to do them. A perfect combination of strength, ease, accuracy and speed! Things I do different are I stopped using 9mm as I found it added little to no extra strength when glued and clamped flat. I also put the rebate off centre so the front shaker detail is deeper. Oh and i also sand the edges pre assembly. Amazing quality of work under a gazebo and a fantastic way to get a sleeping baby to sleep through anything.😂

Don’t judge! I use 6mm MR. And 22 as you do. I have done large doors before and found them quite heavy so started looking at 6mm. I glued a piece of 6mm in a 80mm wide shaker rebate let it go off and picked it up on the end and it was surprisingly rigid. Haven’t gone back! As I say I like the shaker rebate to be deep in the front and shallow on the back but each to their own I guess. I think if it was a loose panel door it wouldn’t work by I glue everything.

How do you fit a loose tenon in the middle stile/rail?
Slot it in pal with a load of glue
