This might just be the best performance of this work anywhere online. It's always a matter of taste, but Kenneth's interpretation is spot on in every respect, from tempo to articulation, registration and phrasing. It's a piece that can easily come off the rails - no danger of that here, as it feels totally under control.

Excellent performance! The video of traffic and pedestrians is hilarious but works so well!

I like your "Phillip Glass" approach in the video... (Life out of Sync!) So much of his music reflects this... and the WIDOR TOCCATA... I'm glad I'm not the ONLY one who caught that...!

What is the filler piece at the end?

Very accomplished interpretation, Kenneth. I wish more organists would play Jongen's works. All the best.

Great album, amazing music and musician, and truly superb recording. My current favorite: Chorale-Prelude on Llanfair (after the Passacaglia & Fugue, of course).

At about 1:23 is a teensy _whiff_ of his Toccata from Symphonie Concertante.

The video images are ridiculous. Ugh. Time lapsed images of people on the streets of NY are the LAST thing that would EVER come to mind while listening to great music. Absurd.

I agree but this church is in the heart of busy Manhattan! I used to work by the Empire State building and would go to this church a few times per week. It is only a few blocks away and near the flat iron bldg. This church has an organ player and choral singers for mass! They are so kind and personable. I loved going to mass there. Then you step out of church into the super busy streets of Manhattan. The name of this church is the NYC Marble Colligiate Church. Miscellaneous fact Donald Trump had his wedding to Melania in this church.

Sorry, this organ sounds electronic, and thin, even though it's supposed to be a pipe organ. Please DO add more carpeting and even some curtains to kill the development of tone in this building. Marble Collegiate Church eh? I prefer Granite myself, but why quibble about nonsense. A Prot will ALWAYS be a Prot.

Sounds like it was recorded inside shoebox 😣
