Alternative route to BAGUIO CITY
ASIN ROAD
Asin-Nangalisan-San Pascual Road (also known as the Baguio-Tubao Road, Tubao-Asin Road or simply, Asin Road[a]) is a major road in La Union and Benguet, Philippines, serving as an alternative route to Baguio.
[1] This road is dangerous, and has tunnels along the way which used to be intended for rail services from Aringay to Baguio.
[2] The road officially opened to public on December 17, 2018.
ASIN TUNNEL
In Asin Road, Tuba, Benguet constructed by Spanish Colonizer's in the 2nd half of 19th Century. There are 2 tunnels carved out of the mountain-one is 95m and the other 158 meters long with height of about 7m.
Created this tunnel to connect the rail roads on #Damortis and #baguiocity
ANDUYAN BRIDGE
Complementing Anduyan Bridge is the 14.24-kilometer construction and improvement of the Aringay-Tubao Alternate Road. This alternate route connects Tubao, La Union to the famous Asin Hot Springs in Tuba, Benguet. With it, the DPWH claimed that the new bridge allowed them to cut travel time between the two locations from 2 hours to just 35 minutes. The cost of the Aringay-Tubao Alternate Road improvement, and the construction of Anduyan Bridge totaled to Php 493.9 million.
