Both. A big heirloom tomato is a treat (they're kinda $$). But I get a lot of good eating from that one giant tomato. On sandwiches - a blt but without the b, with sweet Vidalia onions instead and homemade mayo. A cucumber and tomato salad ... and that's about it.

I prefer Homestead tomatoes because that's what we grew up growing & eating. We peel, slice and let them sit in the fridge until ice cold then sprinkle on some salt and eat 'em up!
We live in Texas so when the tomatoes start growing, we have an abundance and can't eat them fast enough or give them away so im definitely saving this recipe!!!!
We also eat watermelon with salt and blackberries in a bowl with sugar and milk. 😁

We do have itty bitty spoon tomatoes (highly recommend, they're pea sized) coming in hot but you can't make soup with those - you gotta just stand by the vine and have yourself a moment of joy with a lil pop of summer flavor 😎

So many "nopes" in this video. The tomato mill that I don't own and can't afford to buy. The reference to heirloom tomatoes, which in my experience are terribly bland; and the mention of "seconds" at farmers' markets, something I've never seen at any of the markets here. I noped out when the leg went up on the cutting board. Yikes.
