@@Tay_Sports Honestly yeah there should've been another 10 min between the second and third acts fleshing his motivation out to actually making Adonis out to be a fraud rather than just having him speaking out to a crowd about that
I got to meet Mr.T when I was a kid probably about 3 or 4. He was extremely nice, he asked me a lot of questions like if I take care of myself or do I brush my teeth or if I eat enough vegetables and fruits. I remember what he said to me, "An apple a day, keeps the fool away."
Lucky! That is a good story to share. Mr. T will always be my 80’s icon hero!!! I introduced my 5 year old daughter to him in his hilarious voice acting as Officer Earl in the animated film “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs”. What a legend . . . also, I love Drago and Apollo (who is totally not a villain) but Clubber Lang is my favorite Rocky villain of all time. So looking forward to seeing Creed 3!
I really like the techniques used in creed 3..and I absolutely loved the way Dame fought..it showed he was both intelligent and pragmatic..His use of the cross guard and philly shell intechangeably shows how crafty he was as a fighter, but to see him willing to fight dirty shows what point of his life he is in right now..
@@atribecalledlen3567 because the cross arm guard isn't very effective at the highest level. The defense leaves your body open, blocks your vision and keeps your hands at home from counter-punching. It takes a certain degree of timing and skill to use it to its full effectiveness. Since the days of George Foreman only Floyd Jr, erislandy Lara and Miguel cotto have used it to some degree. Just not to the level that George Foreman used it or relied upon, I should say. The cross arm guard is a early variant of the philly shell.
Arguably the greatest trash talker of the entire series. Even though Dame had his trash talking, the series has really been missing a true trash talker that gets in the protagonists head
@ sean Your video is pretty good but you Say that Clubber doesn't have a back story If you follow the video game trilogy. Clubber served time in prison and fought Jack Jarrell, upon his release He trained hard so that he could get the title that he thought he deserved. It's also noted that 1 of the letters of Apollo creed read possibly came from clubber. It's also suggested that clever laying probably became a born again Christian after the loss to rocky. How ? because if you remember Union Kane was the champion after rocky left for Russia. So how could Union Kane a untalented fighter beat clubber . This is why 3 picks up this story with Damian it's original problay wanted clubber off spring to fight rocky s creed character Adonis
What I liked about Damian as a final fight and what made it stand out to me wasn't actually the stylized nature of it... it was that this movie is the only one that made the antagonist feel "vulnerable" instead the overwhelming favourite that the hero needs to beat the odds to win. The movie from the beginning highlights that Damian's biggest weapon is his desperation, it points out that he's debateably past his prime and his body is fighting the clock. That's why he fights so dirty and gets really vicious inside the ring and connives outside the ring. There's a scene where Dame removes his mouthguard in an earlier fight and I remember wincing in the theatre for how gruesome what I was seeing was. He CAN be hurt... the fact that we know that makes him unpredictable and dangerous... we're never sure how far he'll take it to secure the win. Sure Donnie is in danger as always, but it's clear he's younger and has fought fiercer opponents AND has been trained by a living legend. The threat is more psychological than it's ever been before in all Rocky/Creed movies
@@UnstableYT-u7k yes and no. What I liked about Clubber is that he gave Rocky a reality check. Rocky 3 sets up all the reasons why Rocky deserved to lose... and while Clubber was unlikable and big-mouthed he was still the guy putting in gruelling work in darkness in front of the mirror while Rocky was half-assing everything getting paid millions just to show his face at a venue. Dame is clearly misguided in thinking Adonis doesn't deserve what he's built, and the beautiful thing about Majors' performance is you can kinda see that Dame himself quietly knows that what happened wasn't Adonis' fault and they were just kids. That internal conflict fleshes him out. The stoic humble-bragging older brother figure vs the rage inside of having the best years of your life spent behind bars when you previously had a bright career to look forward to.
@@UnstableYT-u7k a much weaker Clubber Lang. I was disappointed how underpowered they made Dame. I thought he was going to be a destructive monster like Clubber.
Dame is dark/anti Rocky. He was a parallel of Rocky in every way. What diverges is that while Rocky got off the streets and quit the illegal loanshark enforcer thing and took his shot. Dame never got the shot, went to prison for his street activity and developed an evil villain personality. If he had beat Donnie it would have been a very similar underdog story to Rocky. If Dame had been "good" we would have been rooting for him. It could have been a him centric movie. They really needed to show more of him after winning the belt and how it truly was a dark rocky situation. Dame was in mirror of Rocky in Rocky 1 where as Adonis was simultaneously a mirror of Rocky in 3 and Apollo in Rocky 4. This time Creed wins.
I thought it was cool but it did feel a little weird for me , I definitely need to rewatch it before I can put it over the first two creeds or some of the classics
I absolutely love Apollo Creed in the First 2 Rocky Movies. He is just one of those characters that is absolutely fantastic in just A Phenomenal Franchise that we all love, and that's what I absolutely love about a franchise like this. So ya for me, Apollo Creed Comes in At Number 1 For Me As My Favorite Opponent/Character in the Rocky Franchise.
Apollo only ranks that high because his character was fleshed out over FOUR movies. In a one-to-one movie comparison, none of them come anywhere close to Damian.
Apollo is the tragic figure in this series as his prime years are already behind him at the start of Rocky 1. He’s 3 years older than Rocky, 14 years older than Clubber and 15 years older than Ivan. He’s shown as a formerly great fighter who barely defeats the unknown Rocky in 1, loses to him in 2, and dies in 4 at 43 years old to the 28 year old Russian in what was “supposed to be an exhibition”. (I actually think he wanted to die in the ring because he didn’t want to live without boxing, hence him telling Rocky not to throw in the towel.) Great character played by an icon, but it’s such a shame we never get to see Prime Apollo Creed.
Nah, he didn't want to die. He just didn't want ro be viewed as a has-been who needed the towel thrown to save him. The thing I don't like about that movie is that the two sides would have had a meeting to make sure everyone understood that it was just a show and exactly what that entailed. Lazy writing, IMO.
@@GiGi2O11 This was the mid 80s the Russians would have 100% ignored it being a "show." If it meant that they could embarass the Americans, the Americans would have as well. The film makes it extremely clear that said "show" was about national pride from the beginning to the end.
1. Apollo is the most interesting character, and I loved the guy even as a kid. 2. Drago is the most entertaining and cool. 3. Clubber is pretty one note but hey, Mr.T is fun and he was the perfect 80's bad guy. 4, Viktor Drago wasn't going to blow you away with his charisma, but you still felt bad for him, and it worked. The rest don't really matter to me.
Tommy was actually a very easy to understand villain and probably one of the more down to earth and real motivation wise. He wanted to box, did so, money and fame as well as a title shot and ran after that. The last fight was a culmination of Tommy having been manipulated, it backfiring on Duke and Tommy going back to his roots as a brawler. The fact people don’t like this movie is because of the deterrent from the franchise it took which to me is people asking for something different and then crying when it happens.
@@jeremiahmorris1852 To me he feels real. He doubts his decisions, even when Rocky is speaking to him in the car. He doubts his skill when Duke said Union Kane wasn't at his best in front of him. He doubts his resolve when Duke is giving his "you gotta get him in the ring Tommy Gunn" speech. He just seems like a confused kid with daddy issues. Which was his entire character and the realest out of any of the protagonists if you ask me. Sorry for the essay. You gave me less than 2 lines lol.
Clubber was a hungry boxer who felt Rocky kept ducking him (thanks to Mickey) and that's why he was so angry at Rocky. The Adrian scene was to force Rocky to fight him......and it worked. I wish they would have went ahead with Clubber being in Rocky Balboa on good terms with Rocky.
Funny how Tommy Gun was probably the least threatening Rocky opponent but in real life his actor would utterly annihilate anyone who starred in the series.
None of the Rocky villains were evil, except Ivan Drago (who became humanized and a tragic villain in Creed II). Apollo: Wanted to prove his win against Rocky was not a fluke. Clubber Lang: Incredibly passionate to be a champion and was unfairly being ducked by Rocky and his camp. Tommy: Wanted a shot to the title and frustrated not to get one despite working hard and fairly for it. Dixon: Wanted to prove he’s a legit champion. Conlan: Wanted a fight before he went to prison. Viktor Drago: Wanted to please his dad. Anderson: Wanted to get to his full potential and justifiably, wanted revenge against Adonis for cutting him off his life.
Shoot, I was never unsure who to root for! Donnie caused that situation that night and Damian drew his weapon to defend and save him. Then Donnie just GHOSTS him? Kids or not, he knew enough about the streets and enough based on his upbringing that you don't turn your back on your brother like that. Donnie said himself that they were brothers. Who turns their back on a brother and acts like he never existed like that? He didn't HAVE to know that Damian was writing him that whole time. HE should have been the one writing Dame. And we all know that Mary Anne wouldn't have allowed that but, the moment he came of age, he should have been on top of it. Writing, visiting. And when he started getting paid, he should have sent Dame money every month. And he was uber rich, so Dame should have had a modest home paid off and waiting for him when he got out. On top of that, when Donnie realized it was Dame leaning on the car, "I'm sorry for turning my back on you" was the FIRST thing that should have come out of his mouth. Yet he waits until AFTER they fight to say it? And once his mom gave him the letters, he should have called Damian IMMEDIATELY to say, "Man, I JUST got these! I am SO sorry!" The ONLY reason I am glad that Dame lost is because he needed it for his own evolution. He would never have moved past his anger and resentment if he had won the fight. But he was 1000%- yep, a THOUSAND percent- right and Adonis was wrong through and through. Rant over. 😊
That makes movies interesting. And if you’re black and frustrated with the racism that exists in the world…the oppression…Killmonger was not only the choice at the end of the movie, he was the choice as soon as he went into the museum and pointed out that the artifacts were STOLEN, like pretty much everything else in Europe and North America. I was riding with Killmonger the entire movie. He was the real hero.
I watched the first 5 movies like a month ago on netflix for the first time and I thought they were all pretty good. I agree with pretty much every placement, but let me tell you I was shocked when Apollo creed got killed. I didn't see it coming at all. Edit: I just noticed the leg lamp in the background from A Christmas Story
Rocky didn't realized that The Hog Rider card is unlocked from the Spell Valley (Arena 5). He is a very fast building-targeting, melee troop with moderately high hitpoints and damage. He appears just like his Clash of Clans counterpart; a man with brown eyebrows, a beard, a mohawk, and a golden body piercing in his left ear who is riding a hog. A Hog Rider card costs 4 Elixir to deploy. Strategy His fast move speed can boost forward mini tanks like an Ice Golem in a push. At the same time, he can also function as a tank for lower hitpoint troops such as Goblins as he still has a fair amount of health. Most cheap swarms complement the Hog Rider well, as they are nearly as fast as him and usually force more than one card out of the opponent's hand. The Hog Rider struggles with swarms, as they can damage him down and defeat him quickly while obstructing his path. Barbarians in particular can fully counter him without very strict timing on the defender's part, though be wary of spells. A Hunter can kill the Hog Rider in 2 hits if placed right on top of it. However, if you place something in front of the Hog Rider, the Hunter's splash will damage the Hog Rider and hit the card in front of it more. The Hog Rider in conjunction with the Freeze can surprise the opponent and allow the Hog Rider to deal much more damage than anticipated, especially if the opponent's go-to counter is a swarm, or swarms are their only effective counter to him. Skeletons and Bats will immediately be defeated by the spell, while Spear Goblins, Goblins, and Minions will be at low enough health to be defeated by a follow up Zap or Giant Snowball. However, this strategy isn't very effective against buildings as the Hog Rider will take a while to destroy the building, giving the opponent ample time to articulate another counter. Against non-swarm troops, it can deal a lot of damage during the freeze time, but this can allow the opponent to set up a massive counterpush. For this reason, players should either only go for a Hog Rider + Freeze when they have other units backing it up from a counterattack, or if the match is about to end and they need to deal as much damage as possible. It is not a good idea to send in a Hog Rider simply to destroy a building, especially if it is the only building targeting unit available, as defeating Crown Towers becomes substantially more difficult. Spells or simply waiting out the lifetime of the building are more effective. The exception to this is an Elixir Collector placed in front of the King's Tower. If a Hog Rider placed at the bridge, he can destroy the Collector for a positive Elixir trade, though the damage from both Princess Towers will usually mean he does not survive to deal any damage to them. However, if the opponent sends in defending troops, it can be an opportunity to gain spell damage value. In a deck with several low-cost cards, it might be worth it to simply send the Hog Rider against one building. These decks shuffle their card rotation quick enough, that they will arrive to their next Hog Rider before the next building arrives in the opponent's card rotation. Long-ranged troops like Musketeer and Flying Machine can snipe those buildings, preserving some of the Hog Rider's health, possibly allowing it to get some Tower damage. When there are buildings placed in the middle to counter the Hog Rider, understanding the placement of the Hog Rider and the type of building placed can help the Hog Rider to bypass certain buildings. Passive buildings such as spawners and Elixir Collector have a larger hitbox than defensive buildings; which means that if a passive building was placed 3 tiles away from the river in the middle of the opponent's side, then it is impossible for the Hog Rider to bypass that placement as the Hog Rider will get pulled to that building. Defensive buildings have a smaller hitbox than a passive building, which means if that if a defensive building was placed three tiles away from the river in the middle of the opponent's side, a Hog Rider placed at the very left or right side of the Arena may be able to bypass it due to its smaller hitbox. If the player has a building already placed down in the center of the arena, and the opponent tries to bypass it with a Hog Rider at the edge of the arena, they can use certain air troops to push the Hog Rider towards the building as it jumps over the river, effectively denying the bypass attempt. They must be already hovering over the correct placement, as very quick reflexes are required to correctly perform this technique. For Bats, Skeleton Dragons, and Minion Horde, they should be placed right in front of the Hog Rider as soon as it is deployed. For Minions, Skeleton Barrel, Mega Minion, Flying Machine, Electro Dragon, Baby Dragon, Inferno Dragon, Balloon, and Lava Hound, stagger the above placement one tile to the right if the Hog Rider is placed on the left side of the arena, and vice versa. They can also use ground troops to achieve the same result. Something like an Ice Golem deployed at the Hog Rider’s landing spot will obstruct his path and force him to go around the unit, which causes him to be closer to the building instead of the Crown Tower. The Hog Rider can kite Very Fast non-building targeting troops due to his own Very Fast speed and building only targeting if he is placed on the fourth tile from the bridge, slightly into the opposite lane. He can also stall grounded units when placed right at the bridge. He will pull them towards him while deploying, and then be untargetable by them when he jumps over the bridge. After landing, he will pull them back. This can be useful when the player needs to deal damage in the same lane they are defending. It will also help separate troops behind a tank in a large push. A Tornado placed on the second tile front of the player's King's Tower and staggered two tiles towards the Princess Tower will activate it without any damage dealt to the Princess Tower, helping them in defending future pushes. This can also be a method of mitigating all damage dealt to a Princess Tower, but doing this more than three times may result in the King's Tower's health being low enough to be targeted directly, opening up the possible threat of a back door three crown. A better alternative is to pull the Hog away from the Princess Tower into the attacking range of all three Crown Towers, which will negate all damage as long as none of them are already distracted A very powerful combo is the Hog Rider, the Musketeer, and the Valkyrie, typically referred to as the Trifecta. The Musketeer will defend against most troops, while the Valkyrie can protect her and the Hog Rider from swarms or high damage units. The Hog Rider is used to deal damage to the tower. - [ ] This can be effectively countered by Lightning, one-shotting the Musketeer and severely damaging both the Valkyrie and Hog Rider. The Minion Horde is also effective, but the enemy can Zap them and the Musketeer will one-shot them all. Even if the Musketeer is defeated, the Hog Rider and Valkyrie will have enough time to severely damage the Tower. The Hog Rider should be placed behind the Valkyrie to give it a boost so that it stays in front of the Hog Rider, protecting it. A Hog Rider combined with a Goblin Barrel can be awkward for the opponent to defend against. Timing it so that the Hog Rider is tanking the tower shots for the Goblins is the most effective way to deal damage. However, a Barbarian Barrel can shut this down with minimal Tower damage for a positive Elixir trade, as long as the Goblin Barrel was placed directly on the Tower. Pairing the Hog Rider with the Balloon can deal devastating damage. If executed properly, the Hog Rider will act as a tank while the Balloon threatens to deal massive damage. The Hog Rider can also destroy any buildings attempting to slow down the combo. However, this combo is very vulnerable to swarms and anti-air cards as neither of the troops target anything but buildings. Additionally, they are easy to separate, due to the disparity in move speeds. Alternatively, the Hog Rider and the Balloon can be played in different lanes to spread the opponent's defenses thin. However, a building or Tornado can bring them back together for an easier defense. The Hog Rider can be paired with the Lumberjack as both a swarm bait and damage combo. It is a very fast combo with an extremely high damage output potential, so the enemy will likely try to counter it with a swarm. If this happens, use a spell like Arrows to render the opponent defenseless. If they manage to defeat the Lumberjack, the dropped Rage will make the Hog Rider even more dangerous than it normally is. A fast and deadly combination is the Hog Rider and Mini P.E.K.K.A. combo. Both units are fast but the Mini P.E.K.K.A. does much more damage and does not attack only buildings so the Mini P.E.K.K.A. can deal with troops like the Executioner and Musketeer. However, this combo can be defeated with swarms like Skeleton Army, which will defeat both of them since neither of them can deal area damage. They are also unable to target air troops, so the Minion Horde can stop this easily. A risky play is to deploy the Hog Rider at the bridge as soon as the match starts. If the opponent does not react fast enough, the Hog Rider will deal a significant amount of damage to the Princess Tower. This can also allow the player to quickly scout the opponent's deck if they happen to react to him fast enough
We do learn about Clubber. He was frustrated that Mickey was ducking him. He confronted Rocky at the statue because Rocky was retiring and he knew if he won the title by not beating Rocky that he wouldn't get any respect. Him insulting Adrian was his last chance effort to force Rocky into a title match.
He didn’t “insult” Adrian. In fact, he told her to “bring yo’ pretty little self over to my apartment tonight, and I’ll show you a real man.” He flirted with her to get under Rocky’s skin, and it worked.
Clubber had hands down the best trash talk. "Don't need no has-been messin' in my corner. You wanna jump me? C;mon Creed!" Lol, classic. Plus, he scared me when I was a kid, he unleashed a tornado of rage against Rocky.
Drago would kill him the same way he did Apollo. He was an unbeatable, drug-enhanced machine. It was totally and completely unbelievable that Rocky could ever beat him. NO ONE would be able to beat Ivan in real life. Not Clubber, not Viktor, not Mike Tyson, not Muhammad Ali. Just based on the drug-enhancement alone.
@@dustlicker3 Because of Hollywood's total ignorance of actual fighting. Drago has a punch that is far beyond that of the absolute hardest hitting heavyweight of all time. The guy is quite literally a superhuman so yeah he would 100% win.
@@GiGi2O11 that's because Rocky was able to block and dodge some of his attacks and due to Ivan's lack of stamina, and he's never fought for more than 3 or 4 arounds against an opponent like Rocky, so it makes sense why he loss. Plus Rocky unlike Drago, trained himself in the elements, fighting outdoors, while Drago had trainers, technology, etc to prepare him to fight against Rocky.
I agree with your list other than for me, I switch the spots of baby Drago and Clubber Lang. Clubber Lang put fear in Rocky that he never had before and had to learn to overcome it.
I like the fact that Adonis becomes friends with his opponents and actually meets with them in the locker room that is a different element I like the way Victor is more intelligent than his father thinks for himself and more human than his father shows that he can be a likeable character I am 40 years old 6ft3 300 pounds and still afraid of drago😂
Wait. There were more than just three athletes. Viktor Drago Mason Dixon Tommy Gunn Ricky Conlin Apollo Creed (NFL) All of those guys are/were athletes (R.I.P. Tommy Morrison).
I was not expecting Apollo to be on this list. Thats how much of a suporting actor he was. Dame was also a strong supporting actor. Everyone else was villains
I personally don't see Apollo as a "villain" sure he was a formidable opponent for Rocky in the first two movies he was but overall to call Apollo a villain wouldn't be accurate, cause unlike Clubber Lang, Drago, he wasn't willing to resort to dirty tactics or illegal moves to win unlike Drago whom used drugs to win. Plus, compared to the other villains he was the least antagonistic of them all, next to Mason Dixon.
1. Apollo Creed 2. Clubber Lang (this was my favorite Rocky movie) 3. Ivan Drago 4. Damion 5. Viktor Drago 6. Mic Conlan 7. Mason Lion Dixon 8. Tommy Gun
Dame is gonna go down in history. His role in the film played as a more personal battle of someone’s past rather than an random opponent. Not to wnnrjon that him and Donny were insanely close considering where they came from. It made the fight 10x more emotional.
Sean how could dare even put Thunderlips number 1??? Let alone leave him off the list entirely. The menacing presence, the charisma, the unforgettable performance!
Damian is my favorite villain of this franchise and was just fantastic, and I will explain why: *Spoilers ahead* In the film, Damian is meant to be a character who wants to take revenge on Adonis after being in prison for nearly 20 years. When they were young, Adonis and Damian were very close to each other and really good friends. You could even say they were best friends. At first, when they reunite after 20 years, things were great. But as the movie progresses, especially after Damian beats Felix, which his partner told him it was a bad idea ahead of time, this is where things get bitter and it only gets worse when he discovers the letters from Damian that Adonis’ mom kept for a long time. Ultimately, it leads for the two to face off against each other in boxing match. And while Adonis does win at the end, he also does somewhat make amends with Damian.
Only problem I had with Damian is by taking the fight Creed essentially buries his own fighter. It wasn't Creeds place to beat Dame, it was Felix place to beat him.
I have a theory that Damian planned all the hostility and antagonization towards Adonis from the beginning but didn't actually feel animosity toward him. He had a notebook with him in the diner at the beginning where he said he had "big plans." I think he detailed out a thoughtful plan (past just beating Felix) to become a top fighter and part of that was using Adonis' fame as the world champion. He is older than Adonis and his clock was "ticking" so he needed to take drastic actions to become the top fighter. I think he always loved Adonis but needed to use him as a pawn, he just didn't plan on losing at the end.
Nothing was ever great between them when Dame got out, and they both had negative feelings even before Felix. Donnie was simply teying to work with him out of guilt, but he was weary of Dame. Donnie just underestimated exactly how weary he should have been.
Total disrespect to Clubber he had very legitimate reasons to be pissed at Balboa and his character is shaped by the civil rights struggle. It's hinted at much of his dialogue at the statue unveiling
Dixons entire ark is the same reason as Tommy's for fighting rocky, with both being the camp, but people not treating them like it. However, unlike Tommy, he actually is the camp
Apollo Creed is one of the those extremely rare antagonists that completely defies all tropes and stereotypes that would ordinarily come into play in this sort of a movie - he's technically an antagonist in the first movie, but even then, it's really difficult to call him that.
Yep. He's an antagonist who both gives Rocky his greatest opportunity and is never really antagonistic towards Rocky until Rocky turns out to be the real deal.
I loved Dame, he made me love him then hate him then love him again, I knew where he was coming from he wanted it that one line sent me heaven “try living in a cell watching someone else live your life” loved that but after he won the first fight he became a bi#ch and then after he lossed the second I felt for him again but Apollo is probably my 1
As much as I love Ivan Drago, I might have to put Victor above him. We get a lot more time with Victor, and his fight is very personal with Creed. Plus, Victor’s theme is awesome.
Magnificent and brilliant breakdown! I enjoyed it! I recently seen creed three, and I loved it, and I reminisced through your video where I was in the other Rocky & Creed saga! 😂😂 Thank you my friend & keep up the amazing work P.S I agree with your list👍🏾👍🏾
Apollo was the best antagonist in Rocky 1 and 2 cause he’s very human he wants a fight then he wants to clear his name for his family and pride it’s so good he wants the fight just to have closure in a very realistic.
I can't believe we have (almost) the same ranking, Sean. I would only switch the Dragos. C2, made reatroactively R4 a better movie and Ivan a better villian. But I prefer to judge him only for his R4 arc. Thanks for the video, pal.
That beginning scene in Creed 2 in kyiv Ukraine just gets to me. Knowing that the war us going on and those shots were taken before the war. It's just idk it hits me.
1. Apollo 2. Dame 3. Clubber 4. Ivan 5. Viktor 6. Mason 7. Tommy 8. Conklin Edit: I made my list while watching the video and the comments made me think that you listed Thunderlips as #1 lol. I was gonna say if TL is #1 Spider Rico gotta be #10!! Also, love the video. New subscriber
1. Ivan drago 2. Apollo creed 3. Viktor drago 4. Dame Anderson 5. Tommy Gunn 6. Ricky conlan 7. Clubber lang 8. Mason dixon I gotta say though Sean I think tommy had so so much potential. I think he’s middle ground because the build up with tommy being the new rocky in the beginning is awesome and I thought Morrison (rest his soul) did fine as the character but the problem is him turning ruined the movie. But I find it awesome because rocky fights a guy that knows all his secrets. Btw fun fact: the part where tommy tells the story about him seeing his dad in the ring every time he gets in the ring was a actual true story by tommy Morrison.
Love the list and agree with most of it. I wonder if you could do just another personal ranking of just all of the minor fighters in the films like Spider Rico
I like your list and agreed with most of it. The only adjustment I would make... I would switch Clubber Lang with Victor Drago. I think Clubber was a far more interesting and entertaining character. You could've gotten any buff actor to play Victor Drago, but I can't imagine anyone else other than Mr. T playing Clubber Lang.
But on the other Hand, there was more complexity behind Drago when it comes to the actual machine like fighting, but then also how he was seen as more complex later
1: Apollo Creed/Rocky 2: Ivan drago 3. Clubber lang 4. Adonis creed/Damien 5. Victor drago 6. Conlan 7. Tommy Most complete: Apollo creed Most dangerous: Rocky (toughness)/clubber (aggression and power)/damien (dirtiness) Most powerful puncher: Probably Ivan drago
Liked 'em all, but MY LIST from best to worst: 1. Clubber Lang (The reason I started watching "Rocky" movies) 2. Viktor Drago 3. Ivan Drago 4. Apollo Creed 5. Dame (I've only seen "Creed 3" once. He could move up after I watch it more) 6. Tommy Gunn 7. Pretty Ricky Conlin 8. Mason "The Line" Dixon
The Tommy angle of Rocky V was a loose telling of Mike Tyson falling apart after Don King got ahold of him..... I would have ranked him a couple spots higher.
Ivan Drago killed Apollo Creed and, even though Rocky won that fight, Ivan deals out so much to Rocky that he ends Rocky’s career as a boxer. I think that places Ivan at the to of the list IMO.

Don’t fall for this guy’s scam.
Well said! 💯% agree!
I like the use of cross-arm guard. It is a boxing technique that has been retired ever since George Foreman retired.
@@christianjocson5509 why do you think it hasn’t been used since? Genuine question
Clubber Lang is probably the most fun of all the opponents that's why he's so iconic
Arguably the greatest trash talker of the entire series. Even though Dame had his trash talking, the series has really been missing a true trash talker that gets in the protagonists head
And Drago robotic acting
Lang is the only one to Knock Rocky out, and also Rocky didn’t go the distance to beat him.
"I reject the challenge, because Balboa is no challenge. But I'll be more than happy to beat him up some more."
@@StaaaaNzHD dude... he's older than Adonis who's already a retired boxer. How would it make sense for him to be as strong and fit as a prime fighter?

Yeah, he is actually a well written character.
Nah I love him in all 4 of the movies he was in
How can Apollo not be #1? What a charismatic guy, he was the perfect fit for that role
Um, he is number 1. Did you watch the entire video?
Apollo only ranks that high because his character was fleshed out over FOUR movies. In a one-to-one movie comparison, none of them come anywhere close to Damian.
Did you not watch the video? He does have him at #1
@@GiGi2O11 being more fleshed out doesnt make you better. damian would never ever match the energy and personality of Apollo

And fine as heck, and all that BODY! 🤤🤤🤤

Yeah Tommy is easily the more down to earth antagonist of the franchise.
He was strong but had a glass chin.

The way I feel about Dame was the same way I felt about killmonger, By the end of the movie, I was indecisive on who to root for.
I am SO sorry!"
The ONLY reason I am glad that Dame lost is because he needed it for his own evolution.
@@DeCurtaRican Facts Killmonger was real AF

I love that you used the old 1980s term "ducking" 😊
He didn’t “insult” Adrian. In fact, he told her to “bring yo’ pretty little self over to my apartment tonight, and I’ll show you a real man.” He flirted with her to get under Rocky’s skin, and it worked.
Clubber had hands down the best trash talk. "Don't need no has-been messin' in my corner. You wanna jump me? C;mon Creed!" Lol, classic.

This is a perfect list in my opinion, very agreeable to me. I love all the opponents but Apollo Ivan Dragon and Damien were perfect
Damian is my favorite villain of this franchise and was just fantastic, and I will explain why:
*Spoilers ahead*
In the film, Damian is meant to be a character who wants to take revenge on Adonis after being in prison for nearly 20 years.
I agree with you completely
"The Master of Disaster, The Dancing Destroyer, The King of Sting, The Count of Monte Fisto, The One The Only, Apollo Creed!!!!!!"
Total disrespect to Clubber he had very legitimate reasons to be pissed at Balboa and his character is shaped by the civil rights struggle. It's hinted at much of his dialogue at the statue unveiling
Clubber aka Mr T was the greatest bad guy of all time…His insults one of a kind and he cause Rocky trainer to die of a heart attack
Clubber Lang deserved that trilogy and a Creed fight !!!!🤣🤣🤣💰💰 !!!
Rather than endless Creed sequels, I'd like to have origin stories of the opponents.
Yea a Micky movie would be cool
I definitely want to see the Drago family story after Creed 2.
Let’s not forget what Rocky said about Apollo: the perfect fighter.

2. Ivan Drago
3. Clubber Lang
4. Viktor Drago
5.Dame
6.Ricky Conlan
7.Mason Dixon

As much as I love Ivan Drago, I might have to put Victor above him. We get a lot more time with Victor, and his fight is very personal with Creed. Plus, Victor’s theme is awesome.
Drago is the most dangerous opponent. Ivan, of course.
1.Apollo
2. Drago
3. Clubber
4. Drago Jr
5. Damian
6. Tommy Gunn
7. Ricky
8. Dixon
Not mad at this list at all. Although i would move Clubber Lang up one spot.
Loving these Rocky videos
Me too, since I'm a newbie to this franchise, it's interesting to see the reactions and perspectives of others
Amazing video
Man, no love for Thunderlips? Drago vs. Thunderlips next video! 🤣
I can't believe we have (almost) the same ranking, Sean. I would only switch the Dragos. C2, made reatroactively R4 a better movie and Ivan a better villian. But I prefer to judge him only for his R4 arc. Thanks for the video, pal.
The mother is the true villain in drago family,I don’t consider neither ivan nor victor as villains.but the mother
Viktor was never a villain in my eyes. My heart ached for him. I am so glad they became friends and I hope to see more of him in future installments.
That beginning scene in Creed 2 in kyiv Ukraine just gets to me. Knowing that the war us going on and those shots were taken before the war. It's just idk it hits me.
1. Apollo
2. Dame
3. Clubber
4. Ivan
5. Viktor
6. Mason
7. Tommy
8. Conklin
Edit: I made my list while watching the video and the comments made me think that you listed Thunderlips as #1 lol. I was gonna say if TL is #1 Spider Rico gotta be #10!!
Also, love the video. New subscriber
1. Ivan drago
2. Apollo creed
3. Viktor drago
4. Dame Anderson
5. Tommy Gunn
6. Ricky conlan
7. Clubber lang
8. Mason dixon
I gotta say though Sean I think tommy had so so much potential.
If youre going to use that much lighting, you could use a little foundation. Will cut down on the sweat reflections and eye bags.
These rocky ranking videos are awesome hope there’s more
clubber lang has to be the most iconic antagonist, Mr. t at u that character
Love the list and agree with most of it. I wonder if you could do just another personal ranking of just all of the minor fighters in the films like Spider Rico
What for? They weren't given enough screen time for anyone to care.
@@GiGi2O11 For a silly little video
Apollo was the best fighter. He was past his prime when he fought Rocky.
@MrQuicky2407 I agree. I mean he's totally based on Muhammad Ali. Enough said.
Great list great video
Thanks for watching!
You my friend just Earned a new subscriber
Appreciate it!
👊👊👊
Clubber Lang was my favorite
Jonathan Majors is my favorite actor and he did so well with the character and I need more of him Creed 4 a spin off idc I need more 😂
1: Apollo Creed/Rocky
2: Ivan drago
3. Clubber lang
4. Adonis creed/Damien
5. Victor drago
6. Conlan
7. Tommy
Most complete: Apollo creed
Most dangerous: Rocky (toughness)/clubber (aggression and power)/damien (dirtiness)
Most powerful puncher: Probably Ivan drago
It makes sense
Wow! Fantastic video, buddy!
Liked 'em all, but MY LIST from best to worst:
1. Clubber Lang (The reason I started watching "Rocky" movies)
2. Viktor Drago
3. Ivan Drago
4. Apollo Creed
5. Dame (I've only seen "Creed 3" once. He could move up after I watch it more)
6. Tommy Gunn
7. Pretty Ricky Conlin
8. Mason "The Line" Dixon
The Tommy angle of Rocky V was a loose telling of Mike Tyson falling apart after Don King got ahold of him..... I would have ranked him a couple spots higher.
Waiting for clubber lang's son to make an appearance
Damn, you forgot Spider Reco, that dude used headbutts and elbows. Lol.
Ivan Drago killed Apollo Creed and, even though Rocky won that fight, Ivan deals out so much to Rocky that he ends Rocky’s career as a boxer. I think that places Ivan at the to of the list IMO.
Nicely done
