It is actually more enjoyable if you know both tamil and hindi. I can say that. The scene where sri and JK are in jail and argue with umayal was really enjoyable
As someone who does understand both languages (Tamil only OK though), I can say, the experience is definitely good. Even with very little exposure to Tamil, I could sense the difference in accents between India and SL, and made me admire the attention to details on this show even more.
For me Samantha was the star this season ,the scene where she sings the tamil song and simmering with anger stood out.She was menacing to say the least .I mean there are not many occasions In the past when a female antagonist could eclipse the male villains with her action sequences and her performance.
If I were a Tamil,I wouldn't have any issues with this masterpiece. Because this is probably the first instance where the pan India audience would get to know the story of Tamil rebels from their perspective.
True story of Tamil rebels is far more saddening, dark and inspiring. Tamil rebels were freedom fighters and on many occasions have crossed limits in the name of unconventional warfare. If the pro government forces kill civilians in the name of security, nobody questions ( eg: Lanka, India, Pak, China, North Korea, Russia, America, Israel, Syria etc.) But if the same is carried out by rebels, they are termed as terrorists.
if u wouldn't have any issues with this master piece, U WOULD NEVER BE A TAMILIAN. Even if u were a tamilian and had no issues, u r not less human than Singhalese. "U DONT KNOW OUR PAIN"
Samantha's screen presence is so classy that stole all my focus on her, and all I wanted was more screen time by the talented actress. Its an achievement when the show is full of raw-talents like Manoj, Sunny, Priyamani, Gul Panag, Shreya D etc
I actually sympathetisized so much with tamil relebs .... specially with Raji .As Samantha just nailed her character she just acted with her eyes .I just fell in love with her✨

The series does portray Tamils in a bad light and since Samantha being telugu couldn't care less about Tamils and acted in this series all for making a quick buck. Shame on her.
I actually didn't like his character , they used him as a convenient plot device to magically get Intel whenever they were stuck in the story. I also didn't like the ending , last season's cliffhanger was brilliant and this season AK47 became surface to air missile. But otherwise everything else was perfect.
As a Tamilian, I would like to comment on few things. The acting and stunts are top notch. Manoj Bajpayee and Samantha gave stunning performances. Many hilarious moments. The linguistic differences are also highlighted nicely. Things which directors got wrong: LTTE army members never drink or consume alcohol and cigarettes Bhaskaran (In real life Prabhakaran) never left Sri Lanka and flew to England There was never a link between ISI and LTTE Many primary Tamil characters in the series are dark skinned When referring or depicting a real faction, incident or war, historical accuracy and sensibility is required Still, it’s an outstanding series with great technical qualities and top notch performances. I would rate it 4.25 out of 5. Viewers should understand that this series is fictional and receive it maturely. There is no point in banning the series. Everyone watching this should have a maturity that this is fictional and has to research the historical facts if they want to know the real truth.
How do u know all these things?? do u read in your textbooks or these things are just some political agenda? I don't know about them. Are there any sources so that I could know about what happened to them? Can I compare them with Maoists?
@Lusna. Pradhan There are some books like “Prabhakaran: The story of his struggle for Eelam”, “The tiger vanquished”, “beyond velupillai prabharan, srilankan crisis”. There’s detailed info about the war in Wikipedia. LTTE is a liberation group to fight the discrimination and persecution of Tamils by Sri Lankan government. They cannot be compared with maoists because maoists follow communism. LTTE basically wanted liberation and safety of Tamils. The war took over a period of 26 years and many human rights violations took place. Many women were raped and killed in front of their families. Many children died.
Only WEB SERIES whose second season didn't disappoint Hope we get to see the uncensored version someday which was initially going to release ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Actually they had sex. Its cleared by the counselor. When suchi decided to tell everything to srikant. That counselor said it would end their marriage. Suchi cheated srikant. No worker her daughter is tharki. Always looking for sex.
Hatsoff to Raj & DK for dealing a sensitive issue in a mature manner. They didn't take any side. Let audience feel & judge as per their intelligence on Elam. Samantha is a powerhouse. Drithi episode is an eye opener for teenegers. Thank god we didn't see any south stereotypes. Season 2 was soo mature than season 1.
Agreed with everything but the dhriti episode is not just an eye opener for teenagers but also for parentsto understand that children grow up at some point and they should openly be a part of their lives without the children being scared of opening up qbout relationships and feelings to their parents. It is evident that dhriti was trapped but what if she could tell her parents that she was seeing someone and her parents could have looked into the guy before anything could happen? Think about that!
@@ashiatre4514 I'm completely getting you. The scene where Dhriti's mom just feel so surprised of the fact that her best friend don't know anything about Kalyan, and she didn't even have any of his details other than name... That look on her face was enough to tell how important it is for both parents and kids to communicate, even friends to be open to each other. Dhriti was also using her best friend for bunking out on her family but not even once she also cared to talk to her more than what was enough for her. I felt so worried about the fact how so many teenagers are falling into such kind of traps but not even once they are communicating about any of their personal life's stuff to anyone they think at least they can trust. There should be at least one person in your life who knows about your all whereabouts.
Indian audience doesn't appreciate bold writing. The story could've been twisted to so many outcomes, yet they wanted to keep it positive at the end. The usual, hero wins at the end stuff. I expected much more at the end.
@@meettheartist5506 yes it is so important for teenagers to be able to talk to an adult about these things, preferably their parents. It is such a tender age and with no guidance, it just causes havoc. But as a society, we are so inclined to age old practices that a child always has to obey their parents, if they don't listen then they are spoilt or a rebel. It is important that teenage love isn't just presumed as infatuation and a teenager's feelings are given enough importance and recognitionand even guidance if and when needed. Shoving off anyone's feelings based on age just leads to misunderstandings and hate. The scene in which Sri tries to psychologically manipulate Salman may be viewed as just another tactic to save his daughter, however, it also gives insight to the fact that he validates what his daughter and the guy feel and it is proven that he wasn't entirely wrong when Salman does untie Dhriti's hands! It is clearly seen in households with strict parents that the child would mostly turn out to be a rebel.
Raji character is the crown jewel of Samantha's career. The makers must have felt vindicated finally. Alas all the hue and cry to boycott the series are totally unjustified. And this is coming from a tamilian.

I didn’t know that Tamils suffered so much in Sri Lanka, only after watching this series I understood that Tamils in Sri Lanka had gone through a lot of pain. Their story must be heard and it should be spread. We sympathise with North Korean regime survivors, it’s high time we should start supporting Tamils and their rights in Sri Lanka.
But we are the people of India. They are the people of srilanka. We should maintain the sovereignty of our country. We should talk to srilanka with prospective of India. Not the tamils.
1.A web series’ second season which didn’t disappoint its audience in any aspect!! 2.The team has made a thorough research on the Tamil Eelam from their story, slang, ideologies, their motto, and the Civil War. A detailed and story-backed characterisation gives a clear picture and scope to the actors. And the team has handled the concept and used it as an intriguing plot for its 2nd season 3. The conversation between the characters are kept real, be it with the Sri Lankan Tamils, Indian Tamils, TASC team, and the rest
@@saketautee2329 It's difficult to understand if your are not aware of the Eelam story. The initial episodes form the back picture for it's high octave climax.
Originally hailing from southern India, now residing in a west country, I have never missed a single movie of Samantha, Even in underwhelming movies of her career, I always found a moment where her acting prowess excels & we clearly see how amazing she truly is. Many a times her eyes does the talking & is so convincing that you feel her to be the character itself... I'm glad she took this role, now the whole India, if not the World, will recognize & cherish her talent.
The series had shown the history of Tamil rebels metaphorically through dialogues. When the leaders of Eelam escape from srilanka, Subbu will tell," we're in this position because of believing that lady PM Basu", which tells that Indian government fooled them for their political aspirations. Do you know? Indira Gandhi supported Tamil rebels in the real history. She provided army training to them in support of seperate country for Tamil Eelam. But when she got killed and Rajiv Gandhi became PM, things changed. When Raji said, "My story is real" I said to myself, yes it's real and happened to so many Tamil women of Eelam. When Baskaran said," there's difference between you and me. You are a politician. I'm a rebel" I thought this is what the real leader of LTTE would have said whenever he was asked to surrender himself and his movement to srilankan army. Please read the real history of Tamil Eelam. You will feel more connected to the series and the characters.
The Tamil topic was treated v maturely, the dialogues in the character's own languages were authentic. The story was great and the constant threat felt real. but man oh man Samantha's acting was out of this world.
Finally, Bob Biswas is not alone at the top of badass-ness! Enter Chellam, the coolest Tamilian you'll never know (or find, or see, he's just that elusively awesome!) Chellam needs his own spinoff. I can watch that all day long.

I just finished the whole season 2 & I must say this one has impressed me a lot. Manoj Bajpayee is a legend but JK & Samantha both stood out with their performance. I was praying JK should not die as much as Shrikant 😌 I’d really love to see more of Samantha Hope she doesn’t die too and will see her in season 3. I know it not gonna happen though . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ to the season Just loved it. ❤️
I think the unfinished subplot of Lonavala from S01 still being unresolved in S02 is brilliantly done because if you think about it, the character Suchi herself is hesitant and unsure to talk about it, it makes sense from the character point of view. Even if it is annoying for the audience
I could not stop laughing at the certain scenes for instance Srikant's resignation from the IT company. The best thing was the perfect balance between character introduction, the emotional turmoil and the charm of the story.

Those words are sweet like honey. But the imaginative story writing with actual facts was too good. The way Samantha sings war-cry of Tamil Ellam will reach millions of people. Never expected it to be this good.
Thanks to India the problem which bothers tamil people in Sri Lanka was solved in 1987 by signing Indo-Lanka agreement. And Sri Lankan people Tamil people enjoyed the freedom of speaking in mother tongue.
Seema Biswas did such exemplary acting !! Her authoritative , shrewd demeanour as PM was so bang on! Till date a politician's role was mostly a male dominated arena , she was too good man!
the directors deserve a lot of praise. This show would be all time favourite, it's literally perfect and I couldn't find any flaws, exceeded my expectations
As a Tamizhian myself I was very offended when I watched the trailer and the premise was the rebels and ISI had formed a coalition which was very misleading. However, after watching the series I find that the story is not as offensive as it is portrayed to be. Infact the coalition was not even between the whole rebel army and ISI. It was just a faction of the rebels (Bhaskaran) who grieved by his brother's assassination misunderstands the plot and ends up joining hands with his brother's actual killers Sameer and Sajid who are the actual antagonists of the show and I'm sure we will get to see a lot of Sameer in the next season. Only dissapointing thing was, the aftermath of Season 1 was shown in a quick flashback and it didn't get the closure it deserved. I loved the Srikanth slapping his chomu boss scene. The corporate employee inside me was filled with joy and it was relatable as hell. Also the best part was they used Tamizh actors to portray all the Tamizh characters, which is a rare feat for Bollywood. The character arc and storyline of Raji at first seems very slow and boring and even the scenes might make you get angry (ex. Bus groping scene where she has a deadpan expression) makes you get angry but the transformation scene amazed me. Her flashback scenes although short in duration establishes her character and the reason why she is a silent killer and not even death bothers her. To those who are offended I would recommend you to please watch the full series once and if you still are offended, you are entitled to your opinion. Kudos to the makers for showing the Sri Lankan Tamizh dialect which not many people in India are aware of. I know most of them would not be able to distinguish between the two if they are listening to Tamizh for the first time.
Fellow Tamizh here. You just summarised all my thoughts here bro. I was disappointed with the trailer of Season 2 too since I loved Season 1 so much. You're right. Thank god they made that very wise decision of separating the rebels who partnered with ISI from the ones that were fighting for Eelam. It would've been a disaster otherwise. I also admired the effort put into the Sri Lankan accent.
@@saintpotato5 When I recently saw Cricketer Ashwin‘s video chat show with Muttiah Muralitharan I realised the difference in lankan tamil and Chennai tamil. That was revealed in this series too. Keen eye for details by the makers.
Good review but one point writers never showed Pakistan as villain. They were talking about ISI. Even in season 1 they were accurate in showing the military power of Pakistan (that indirectly supports ISI) is differently from civil govt. it is sad that Pakistan’s military and ISI is stronger than civil govt so evenif majority is not happy with the scenario they cant say anything.. coming back to the series, the ISI are shown as villains because they have selfish agenda. While LTTE were/are never terrorist they rightfully wanted freedom and the history of North Sri Lanka is purview to that. The way tamils were marginalized and treated by ceylonese.
There is much difference u must know. In India RAW is under the control of Civilian govt & its Govt which appoints its members. Coming to ISI it is direct intelligence Military wing of pak military, Even some says Pakistan military also can't control rogue activities of ISI.

If I were a Tamil,I wouldn't have any issues with this masterpiece. Because this is probably the first instance where the pan India audience would get to know the story of Tamil rebels from their perspective.
The general tamil audience never had an issue...its just always something to do with politics and politicians...
Its not just politics .. its also with the experience with previous Hindi films..

As a Tamilian, I would like to comment on few things.
The acting and stunts are top notch. Manoj Bajpayee and Samantha gave stunning performances. Many hilarious moments. The linguistic differences are also highlighted nicely.
Things which directors got wrong:
LTTE army members never drink or consume alcohol and cigarettes
Bhaskaran (In real life Prabhakaran) never left Sri Lanka and flew to England
There was never a link between ISI and LTTE
Many primary Tamil characters in the series are dark skinned
When referring or depicting a real faction, incident or war, historical accuracy and sensibility is required
Still, it’s an outstanding series with great technical qualities and top notch performances. I would rate it 4.25 out of 5. Viewers should understand that this series is fictional and receive it maturely. There is no point in banning the series. Everyone watching this should have a maturity that this is fictional and has to research the historical facts if they want to know the real truth.
👏

@B I am an Indian. FYI

They leaned towards the rebels side a little bit more.

Originally hailing from southern India, now residing in a west country, I have never missed a single movie of Samantha,
Even in underwhelming movies of her career, I always found a moment where her acting prowess excels & we clearly see how amazing she truly is. Many a times her eyes does the talking & is so convincing that you feel her to be the character itself...
I'm glad she took this role, now the whole India, if not the World, will recognize & cherish her talent.
@Gaurav Gunkar and Arjun
Ofcourse Samantha cannot struggle like Ananya ....nobody can...😂😂😂😂
You forgot about the cop played by Devadarshini. Always playing the sister/bhabhi in commercial movies, she is such a revelation in this!
Samantha is bad actress
The story was great and the constant threat felt real. but man oh man Samantha's acting was out of this world.

the directors deserve a lot of praise.
Yes because of sensitive people like you, we are so behind in cinema. Grow up

@@akshaysheoran2398 you grow up. I am a maharashtraian and I fully concur with what he said.
@@saintpotato5 When I recently saw Cricketer Ashwin‘s video chat show with Muttiah Muralitharan I realised the difference in lankan tamil and Chennai tamil. That was revealed in this series too. Keen eye for details by the makers.
Finally a series where actors speak the language of the area.
Coming to ISI it is direct intelligence Military wing of pak military,
Even some says Pakistan military also can't control rogue activities of ISI.
@@homosapien5140 yeap even military cant control ISI.. true
Spoiler:
In episode 1, where Srinath was remembering what had actually happened at the chemical factory, the way he looked at the smoke from his cigarette was such a cool detail, because the smoke from his cigarette reminded him of what they were trying to stop in the last season, such a good transition
i like the kid one line "she was like sister to me uncle so we never spoke to each other"
Season 2 is mind-blowing. The action scenes are so terrific, feels like bullets will hit me, especially that police station attack scene of ep 6. So well choreographed action scenes. Overall great script, screenplay, acting, dramatic scenes, thrill and above all Samantha. Normal movie makers should feel ashamed of what garbage they have been producing over the years.
Sometimes u do enjoy the Perks of being a Hindi+Tamil speaker....
😆😂 Same here .. Malayali who understands Tamil and some Kannada ..born and raised in Delhi NCR so hindi comes naturally to me !!!
The best part : We don't even have to put on the subtitles and can keep our focus on the act rather than the bottom of the screen 😂
I also understand Punjabi and Bengali because I had lots of friends from these region during my graduation.
@@rah8985 same. malayalis are mostly multilingual. I can understand upto 5 languages too😅

The only reason he didn't mention Chellam Sir cuz discretion is the code.
Funny but true though 😂😂😂
What a wonderful tribute to SP Balasubramaniam sir during the unspoken banter between Milind and Muthu over which song needs to be played! Hilarious and heartwarming. This entire season was beyond brilliance. To the entire team Family Man Season 2, take a bow 🙌
Finally I watched a webseries before TRP could make a review
And I was waiting for this review even after watching the series because your review matters
