This 4 Pillars of Steel competition featured Invaders, Tokyo, Desperadoes and All Stars. The concert was held at the back of Savanah's Grand Stand in June of 2011. The rain fell but it could not dampen the spirit of the 4 bands. Desperadoes was judged the winner. This band has won a pan competition in 1965, 1966, 1967, 1970, 1976, 1977, 1983, 1985, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1990, two in 1991, 1992, two in 1994, 1999, 2000, 2003, two in 2005, 2006, 2011, 2016 and 2020.
Greatness like this never pays, yet there is a cost! "from the mind of tambo bamboo "........ the cost, through the years of bad name.... "badjohn"...... steelband man........ then a leap forward into "the ambassadors of a most complex source of instrumental art work of a oil drum,.....a container for gabbage....... and a derelict to the eyes and yet it is priceless to the incredible work of the tuners and a master craft to the pan men of yesterday and today .....that is the cost that money can't buy ...... tell pantrinbago to let go and let pan...... "wake up panmen" The workman is worthy of his wages!..... peace and love.
A request this time - a touring steel band visited my island in the seventies to take part in our carnival and played a rendition of “holiday” by the Beatles. The best sweetest music we all ever heard on pan. We (the crowd) kept them playing for us till 5am Tuesday over and over. Would your SP musicians with your new techniques and skill consider a recording of the song mentioned?
acid rain what this guy means and says but when you hear greatness just hush if you have nothing to say that's why pan ain't reach it peak yet the world knows who is the greatest but home don't know hmmm
