In advance of their performance at the Féile music festival on 31 July 1992, Cork band Sultans of Ping FC perform ‘Indeed You Are’ on ‘Thank Friday It’s Bibi’.
By way of introduction, presenter Bibi Baskin warns the studio audience,
They have got their own inimitable brand of I think you could call it brazen pop lunacy.
The Sultans of Ping FC band members are Niall O’Flaherty on vocals, Pat O’Connell on guitar, Alan McFeely on bass, and Morty McCarthy on drums.
Following the band’s performance, Bibi Baskin expresses concern for Pat O’Connell and Alan McFeely,
I can only assume that the two poor Sultans in the black one pieces that’s plastic must be only smouldering in studio 4 this evening.
‘Indeed You Are’ is the second track on the Sultans of Ping FC’s debut album ‘Casual Sex in the Cineplex’ released in 1993 by the British independent record label Rhythm King Records.
‘Thank Friday It’s Bibi’ was a summer chat show presented by Bibi Baskin. It ran from 5 June 1992 to 31 July 1992 and followed on from her previous show ‘Bibi’ with a few key differences: it was live and included international guests as well as Irish. There was a new set and production team, with Julie Parsons replacing Justin Nelson as producer.
