Teaching Transitions in Academic Writing for High School Students

What are the types of transitions in academic writing? Well, there's more to the use of transitions in academic writing than basic transitional phrases. Teach high school English students to create sophisticated transitions that improve writing clarity and flow by "linking" ideas. This repeated word transition strategy is called "threading" and can be used in all academic writing and essay writing, including analytical writing, informational writing, and argumentative writing.
