I came from a poor family and definitely I agree na yung first million ang sobrang hirap.. It took me 7-8 years to hit my first million (single pa ko at wlang anak kaya medyo mabilis).. After I was able to hit my first million, binili ko kaagad ng lupa sa Tagaytay worth 700K then the 150K I put it on a investment then the remaining is the emergency funds. I hope I can hit my 2nd million this year pero kung hindi okay lng dn.. Para sa mga nagsisimula pa lng to hit their first million, I pray na lahat ay ma-hit ang goal nila..
I've learned that it's faster to hit your first million if you shift to a higher-paying career while maintaining the modest lifestyle and level of expenses you had when your salary was lower.
Minsan mahirap din yun. Habang tumataas ang career or sweldo mo, tataas din ang demand ng lifestyle mo. I earn almost 12k before and napapagkasya ko lahat ng needs ko dun even my family's. Nung naging 40k+ ang ineearn ko, it seems na hindi parin enough kahit almost triple na ang tinaas ng salary ko. And ganon tlaga dahil gumaan buhay ng family ko, and I get to invest on things na makakabenefit sakin in the long run. Not to mention, yung bills mo na hindi mo maccontrol ang paglaki and necessary to upgrade (e.g internet, electricity, groceries, water etc) sama mo pa yung mga benefits mo (im a freelancer, I pay for my own benefits and insurances) or delegate ng tasks dahil time is important in this type of career. dun palang ubos na ang kita mo but I see it as an investment for my own naman so okay lang. Gaya ng sabi ni Thea, sometimes spending might be the better option in my case.
Random comments: 1. Super timing nitong video. Just paid my tax last night and naisipan kong icompute how much I'd pay if I were employed. and totoo nga, ang laki ng difference ng self-employed vs. employed. Tapos hawak mo pa oras mo. Hehe 2. True!! sometimes you're better off paying someone else to do a task, lalo na pag alam mo value ng time mo. One example for me siguro is paying for a bookkeeper to change my BIR registration. Kaya ko naman pumila at aralin pano gawin but when I thought about things like mamamasahe pa ako, pipila pa ako, mamroroblema pa ako (just found out na by appointment na pala ang BIR lol isipin mo kung pumunta pako dun tapos waley lang) - better to spend that time on my online job nalang which can generate more income. my friends and I were also talking about this - na alam mo nang tumatanda ka na [and nakakaluwag-luwag ka na sa buhay] is when you choose convenience over saving a few hundred pesos. 3. Yes, generating more income >> scrimping on expenses. You can only save so much but when you focus on growing your income, mas mapapabilis talaga. (But still, keep expenses low. Avoid lifestyle inflation!) Sorry ang haba ng comment ko. Lols. Thank you for all you do, Thea! Excited for the other #myfirstmillion videos!
100% agree with discussing salary with colleagues. I work for a foreign company and I found out I was making almost 40% less than my counterparts. Asked for a raise, and I got one. Although sinabihan nila ako na wag idisclose sa ibang colleagues na nabigyan ako ng raise- of course I won’t listen LOL
unfortunately, salary is something you cannot ask your coworkers. i'm not sure if it's company policy not to talk about it. also,i know that some of my coworkers are not comfortable talking about it. it is not easy to save up $1,000,000 lol.

Hello po. I'm interested in getting the citi rewards card. Do you happen to know if I'm eligible even if I'm based abroad? Thank you in advance for your answer po.
I'm still in college pero graduating na and I want to have a good stability at least kahit in my mindset lang muna as of now. Thank you so much po Ms. Thea! God bless and please know na sobrang dami mong natutulungan with these videos! I'll continue to support u po
thank you so much omg, grabe am one of your fans and i watched ms. charm and nicole too..power friends talaga papunta pataas want to save millions too..
I don't know if anyone feels the same pero pag nagsalita si Thea parang andali gawin ng lahat. Ang gaan ng mood ko pag nanunuod sakanya, it's very helpful kasi nagkakaron kami ng idea sa mga bagay-bagay. I'm 23 years old, nakabukod na and walang regular na trabaho (puro side hustle lang), but I'm planning to take a regular job and make my first million this year. Thank you Thea, more power and sana marami kapa mabigay at ma-share na tips samin. Godbless!
ganitong content masarap panuorin hopefully maachieve ko din yung first 1million ko by this coming June and my key to achieve it is self disipline.😁 ofw po ako
Thank you for sharing your journey really an inspiration to many. As an OFW working as DH and nanny I never thought na makaipon ako as I send money monthly for my family and to have a investment portfolio na umabot ng 1million. And I agree that when you reach that 1 million mas mabilis na yung mga susunod. Discipline and continue learning about saving and investment. I was able to pursue my nursing career while working full time as a nanny in Canada. Wish all women to be empowered and be financially literate.
wow! loveit ate thei. sobrang honest. Atleast honest si ate thei na marami din ciang palpak sa pera that serves as her guidelines, nakakatakot kasi pag marami kang pera tapos wala ka masyadong financial errors or learning, baka kung saan na galing ang pera mo.
Before i applied for a credit card back in 2019, i watched your video. Since then, i have been watching your videos. Kahit the makeup tutorial and travel insights. Wala na ata akong di pa napapanood😊 keep it up👍👍👍👍👍
Ive been watching budgeting and planning videos lately, and honestly, I'm one of your silent viewers here dun sa one million story nyo po, and I've downloaded yung excel sheet para sa budgeting last year, kaso ayun hindi ko rin nagamit ng maayos kasi nga I DIDN'T WORK ON OUR FINANCES! So my goal this year is not just to save more but also to have a proper budgeting plan, thanks for this Ms. Thea!
Love this series. Been following you for more than a year now and I’ve learned a lot. Not born having a silver platter in front of me so it’s a thrill. Excited for more content. I’m on my way to having my first million!
After watching nag iba yung perspective ko about credit card. Pwede ko pala syang maging source of income thru the items i can purchase. Such a helpful content Ms. Thea.💪
Super helpful and insightful! Thank you for this miss Thea! I had to agree with the seventh tip. Na sometimes, we need to spend on things that can help us save more time for doing more things like working and earning. Kaya I have this perspective, for example, to splurge on tech gadgets at home like vacuum or anything that will make life easier and more convenient. Because when we have the right tools, things are done easier and faster. And so we have more time. More time to do other things pa ❤️ Thank you again for this very insightful video! You're the content creator who encourages me to build good relationship with money and finances, and not just save and earn (bcos mindset is key as well ✨)
Totally agree with discussing compensation with colleagues. Eversince nagwork ako lago sinasabi ng management and hr wag sasabihin sa iba and usually pag nag uusap kami ng katrabaho ko we always find out na sobrang baba magpasweldo ng company or binabarat kami. 😅 since then, natuto na ko ng very light makipag negotiate sa company. +1 din sa citibank! In just a few months more than double na tinaas ng credit limit ko. It’s so much efficient to build an excellent credit score sa citi compared to other banks na natry ko.
omg, ngayon ko lang naisip na bayaran in full ang credit card, zeroed it out para ma stop ang interest and then use again the credit card to buy stuffs and earn points and start fresh . 🤔. Thank u Ms Thea for making me realize this, too late for all those interest but Im sure i'm in control now 😁🎉🥳
I'm 32 and you inspire me to invest and manage my finances properly simula noong napanood kita nagbawas din sahod during pandemic kung kailan ako nag-start mag-invest marunong ako mag-ipon pero wala akong specific na pinag-iipunan at takot ako sumugal pero ngayon, hindi na kasi sayang ang compounding interest kesa natutulog lang iyong pera sa bank (savings account) though hindi pa din ako nagamit ng credit card

i agree with most of what you said. i'm happy being an hourly employee because every hour i work is paid for. i found out na yung mga ot ng boss ko na salaried hindi siya compensated. i'm curious to know how much my coworkers make but i will never find out kasi bawal magtanong. taxation here is different and i need to learn about it more.

I’m learning a lot, very helpful to start the year.. i also shared this to my cousins and friends.. thank you and i know i can handle my finances better because of you 💚😇☺️
Thank you for sharing this, Ms Thea! Halos lahat ng natutunan ko po about financial literacy sa inyo ko po nakuha. Started my EF and got my first cc last year after ko mapanood yung videos mo and weeks of researching. Happy to say that I was able to achieve a lot of financial milestones din last year dahil natuto ako kakanood ko ng videos mo, Charm's and Nicole's! ❤️ Extremely hopeful that I will get to my first million soon 🙏🏼
Hi Ms. Thea, I find this video very inspirational since I would like to hit my first million this year, kaya naghhope talaga kong maachieve ko siya. Hehehe. Thinking about getting a credit card na rin, sobrang nagdududa o umaayaw ako lately dahil nga hindi ko kailangan but it got me thinking lalo na sa credit score kaya iwork ko na siya, lalo na kukuha akong loan sooner or later. Thanks so much for this video!! :)
Hi Ms. Thea, thank you for this video series. Its inspiring and also guiding in a sense ,will update and tag you once I earn my first million cash. Thank you
Thank you Thea for making this series. I consider this free training or classes for my own personal finance. So excited for the next one! #myfirstmillion
woooy!!! ahahahah lifetime ko goal ko ata ang mapasama sa circle of friends nyong tatlo..ang saya saya siguro nun magchikahan 😊 thank you for making this video 😊 sobrang totoo nung sa ROI ng time ..ahhk goal ko this year is to earn 500/hr na. it's also best to set boundaries din with friends or family if you want to earn rather than being with them constantly and draining not just your wallet but also your energy.
Thank you so much for this series!!! Can you also include a series how to save your first million na may dependents ka and your the breadwinner. Please advise po 😥
I am lucky enough to have parents who built my finances since middle school. I already have enough emergency funds, have my own home at 18 y/o (parents' graduation gift), and already have my own businesses at my early 20s. Ipon is a privilege imho. If you are the breadwinner, managing finances won't be easy. As long as napro-provide mo needs then you are good. Sooner or later, the heavens will bless you with what you deserve. LABAN!
Why do I want to earn #myfirstmillion? Financial freedom, super nakakasakal kapag alam mo sa sarili mo na you don't have enough for the future expenses, especially the emergency expenses (health related). One of my greatest fear is if any of my family got ill and I don't have any way to support them.
Learned a lot as always 😁😁 I actually used your net worth sheet, kahit student pa lang akezz. 😂 And nung una di ko pa magets yung growth part. Buuut, I'm happy to share na yung net worth ko nag increase more than 100% 😭 (from intern allowance and mini side hisstles) more than the money itself, natuwa talaga ako na namonitor ko with ease yung finances ko. And a big thanks to youuu. Tita Theaaa 💯😍 I agree din na sometimes we need to spend for more convenience. Sobrang frustrating for me gumawa ng PPT (kahit may canva na 😅) kaya ang ginawa ko, binayaran ko kapatid ko for that, binigay ko lang yung content. Tas siya na bahala mag design at gumawa. Bukod sa natulungan ko siya to start hustling by using her skills, nawala rin yung stress sa'kin to do the PPT. Mas na divert ko pa yung energy ko sa iba kong tasks that time 💕
I came from a poor family and definitely I agree na yung first million ang sobrang hirap.. It took me 7-8 years to hit my first million (single pa ko at wlang anak kaya medyo mabilis).. Very easy to understand for me, especially about the monetary value of time.. made me want to share this with my friends and siblings
Really love this ♡♡♡
Thank you for sharing this, Ms Thea!
Thank you
I am picturing myself na hitting my first million, someday, praying ❤️❤️❤️
Ikaw ang pinaka calculative na tao i watched sa yt ;)
Ok sya and this is the real adulting.
Money 🤑 matters 🙂
Very inspiring vlog Ms. Thea..thanks
Thank you Thea for making this series. I consider this free training or classes for my own personal finance. So excited for the next one! #myfirstmillion
woooy!!! ahahahah lifetime ko goal ko ata ang mapasama sa circle of friends nyong tatlo..ang saya saya siguro nun magchikahan 😊 thank you for making this video 😊
sobrang totoo nung sa ROI ng time ..ahhk goal ko this year is to earn 500/hr na.
it's also best to set boundaries din with friends or family if you want to earn rather than being with them constantly and draining not just your wallet but also your energy.
LABAN!
I like your story. Thanks for sharing!
Tita Theaaa 💯😍
I agree din na sometimes we need to spend for more convenience. Mas na divert ko pa yung energy ko sa iba kong tasks that time 💕
Hi Ms. Thea, just want to thank you again for last year's spreadsheet. That really changed my life. no joke. 🙂
awwww thank you for this warm feedback!! glad it helped!! ♥️
