- Costa Smeralda returns to cruise operations with new and enhanced health protocols.The first call on the itinerary is Savona, from where guests can also visit nearby destinations such as Genoa or Finalborgo. The second call is La Spezia, with excursions to Cinque Terre, Lerici, Florence or Pisa. The next call is Cagliari, followed by Naples, with the possibility to visit Sorrento, Pompei and the Royal Palace of Caserta. The last two destinations on the itinerary are Messina, with excursions to the Etna volcano and Taormina; and Civitavecchia, which offers visits to Rome and Tarquinia.
Like the other two Costa ships that have already returned to service, the Costa Safety Protocol will be in place on board Costa Smeralda. The protocol, developed by the company together with scientific experts, includes new operational measures that address the COVID-19 situation, fully compliant with the provisions defined by the Italian and European authorities.
The Costa Safety Protocol considers every aspect of the cruise experience, from booking to returning home. Key measures include antigen swab tests for all guests and crew before embarkation, temperature checks while disembarking and returning to the ship, visits to destinations only with protected excursions and physical distancing onboard and at the terminals. In addition, with a reduction in the number of passengers, the enhanced protocols include new ways of using onboard services, improved sanitization and medical services, and the use of protective face masks when needed!

My wife and I just took a cruise on this ship and we loved it. Even though we were probably the only Americans on the ship everyone made us feel very welcomed. NOW is the time to go while there are no crowds ☺

@@nella8421 oui j’ai fait la croisière. J’avais beaucoup d’appréhension avec ce bateau très moderne qui est devenu mon préféré. Certes il ne ressemble pas aux anciens car il n’a pas d’atrium central mais qu’importe c’est un magnifique bateau avec de belles infrastructures. Il est vraiment beau

Maybe it's just me but I'm not into the ship's furniture, design and deco, already looks dated. Great ocean vid at vid time of 9:35, 9:45 & 37:35 - beautiful calm sea. Thank you for posting. You're so lucky to be able to cruise in Europe.

Мы экономим большие деньги на круизы.
А сетевая состовляющая дает возможность простым туристам, кому не хочется приглашать в клуб, просто путешествовать!

I can not wait to go cruising again Disney here we come. Love all of the horns from every cruise 🚢 ship but Disney has the most horn sounds with 8 horn in total plus it emergency horn and the Star Wars horn.
I can’t wait to go in another cruise as well! We have another lockdown in Italy again, otherwise I would be buying my next cruise this week!

Hi. Since you've ben on the cruise, did you have a PCR Test onboard or something like that? Like...too much tests?
I had covid test in cruise terminal before getting on board and 1 day before leaving the ship. You can get on board only if you are negative and you will have daily temperature checks everyday onboard.
@@CruisePassion Okay then. No curise for me till it calms down. This should have been so boring, no? Nothing is getting in my nose! Seriously, people are too freaked out. Those tests are not nessary. Thanks for your answer though :) But no holidays for me this year :(
