They do play a nice brand of Bball, especially now with Atkinson using some of that Motion offense he learned from Kerr. Their roster is also really talented, but next season Mobley's max extension kicks in at like 40m/year( right now he only eats up 11m in salary for this season). So, unless the Cavs win a chip and go the Celtics route of being really expensive and maintaining all their guys...they'll end up either losing Garland, or losing their wings to make up for that salary.

Jamal Murray late in the game gets badly beaten and buried on a screen as Garland drives to the basket it might have been a switch because I saw Braun attempting to pick up Garland but it was too late it was an easy layup. Murray has been sub par on offense and horrific on defense. I can’t understate how his defense affects the overall defensive effort on the team and subsequently, the team’s offensive chemistry and energy. He looks depressed, he used to be an energy guy once upon a time in his blue arrow days believe it or not, he got paid and now there’s no energy coming from him.

Everything was clear as day when Malone said he don’t give a f that jokic play 40 minutes per night and he’s overloaded because he’s paid millions. You're assuming that Jokic is an unprofessional child. Jokic's job is not to win championships, his job is to carry this team and this franchise. He knows this, which is part of the reason why he's been able to perform so consistently well and why there are no emotional ups and downs with him. This is also why he is the most valuable player in the NBA, and I don't mean MVP award wise, but business wise. If there were no sallary caps, he'd be the highest paid player in the NBA. Malone is 100% right on this, the only issue is that he needs to apply the same standard to Murray, because that one is a child, as are most of the NBA players.

On the other hand I know things are bad with Murray but I don't rate him as badly as Zach Lavine. Lavine has an even worse history in my book and I wouldn't have him as a third option let alone second. I'm not being unrealistic here, I just don't see him as a person you'd want on your team. My stock is low on Murray, but not Lavine low. Lavine has better stats this season but I have no faith in him that it will last or mean anything. I also wouldn't go for a Poole or a Kuzma (I'm not saying you would either), we're not that desperate. A year ago, and it most assuredly wouldn't happen now, but the player I wanted was De'Aaron Fox. He seems to lack the motivation to develop new players. Booth appears to be the worst general manager, and this issue began even before him when role players were rewarded with max contracts.

It's hard to fathom how this team goes on 5-6 minute stretches with nothing but bonehead plays, missed layups, panic turnovers and just give the game away. Twice tonight, once in the 2nd and then once late in the third. You can't just screw off like a bunch of clowns and fall down by 16-20+ in a matter of minutes, multiple times a game and have to fight your way back, only to go to sleep all over again. This is a better team than last year, especially offensively and bench wise and hardly that much less than their championship run, but they act like a bunch of braindead stoners for extended stretches in every single game. This is an embarrassment for a professional spirts team with the talent it has on it's roster.
Fr, the defense will just be standing there and they’ll throw a ball out of bounds, miss a layup, fumble a pass directly into a defenders hands back to back to back while getting scored on every play (generally with at least one 3pt shot given up via offensive rebound). This is simply an indictment of Calvin Booth! The Denver Front Office has utterly failed to put adequate talent around Jokic. Why is it that there's no viable backup center for 5 years? Why does Calvin Booth believe "that a traditional backup center is a luxury few teams can afford these days." Joker can't even take 5 minutes off at the end of a quarter without the bench losing the lead and he comes back in the game with 8 minutes left in the next quarter and they're down by 10! Other teams are actually game planning for Jokic to leave the game! That's how they are planning to beat the Nuggets. Have one of their scorers on the court to take advantage of the non-Jokic minutes.

As a Cavs fan. Jokic had some amazing shots. At times he looked like he was shooting pool off the glass.
Everything was clear as day when Malone said he don’t give a f that jokic play 40 minutes per night and he’s overloaded because he’s paid millions. You're assuming that Jokic is an unprofessional child. Jokic's job is not to win championships, his job is to carry this team and this franchise. He knows this, which is part of the reason why he's been able to perform so consistently well and why there are no emotional ups and downs with him. This is also why he is the most valuable player in the NBA, and I don't mean MVP award wise, but business wise. If there were no sallary caps, he'd be the highest paid player in the NBA. Malone is 100% right on this, the only issue is that he needs to apply the same standard to Murray, because that one is a child, as are most of the NBA players.

On the other hand I know things are bad with Murray but I don't rate him as badly as Zach Lavine. Lavine has an even worse history in my book and I wouldn't have him as a third option let alone second. I'm not being unrealistic here, I just don't see him as a person you'd want on your team. My stock is low on Murray, but not Lavine low. Lavine has better stats this season but I have no faith in him that it will last or mean anything.
I also wouldn't go for a Poole or a Kuzma (I'm not saying you would either), we're not that desperate.
A year ago, and it most assuredly wouldn't happen now, but the player I wanted was De'Aaron Fox. He was on a much lower salary from memory and I believe could have been enticed to play with actual Jokic as opposed to dollar store Jokic. Fox doesn't have the same injury history as Murray while still being clutch and has the benefit of being a lot quicker. Too late though.
I think we're stuck with Murray, I didn't think at the time we should have resigned him but can't do anything now but hope against hope he will wake up one day and think it's the 22-23 finals all over again

He seems to lack the motivation to develop new players. Booth appears to be the worst general manager, and this issue began even before him when role players were rewarded with max contracts.

It's hard to fathom how this team goes on 5-6 minute stretches with nothing but bonehead plays, missed layups, panic turnovers and just give the game away. Twice tonight, once in the 2nd and then once late in the third. You can't just screw off like a bunch of clowns and fall down by 16-20+ in a matter of minutes, multiple times a game and have to fight your way back, only to go to sleep all over again. This is a better team than last year, especially offensively and bench wise and hardly that much less than their championship run, but they act like a bunch of braindead stoners for extended stretches in every single game. This is an embarrassment for a professional spirts team with the talent it has on it's roster.

This is simply an indictment of Calvin Booth! The Denver Front Office has utterly failed to put adequate talent around Jokic. Why is it that there's no viable backup center for 5 years? Why does Calvin Booth believe "that a traditional backup center is a luxury few teams can afford these days." Joker can't even take 5 minutes off at the end of a quarter without the bench losing the lead and he comes back in the game with 8 minutes left in the next quarter and they're down by 10! Other teams are actually game planning for Jokic to leave the game! That's how they are planning to beat the Nuggets. Have one of their scorers on the court to take advantage of the non-Jokic minutes.
