Fun Facts: EXO is the very first K-Pop group to debut with a whole back story and concept. CHANYEOL is the brand ambassador for PRADA. SEHUN is the first male global ambassador for DIOR.
If you want to check the individual guides of EXO, please choose vids by Cesar Oh. Yes, they are all tv/movie actors, except Chen who is a musical actor. D.O has a movie called The Moon coming out in August 2023. He's a brilliant actor. He doesn't speak much English. However, D.O. would try really hard to get the pronunciation right when singing foreign songs. He even has an English and Spanish song in his album. Kai is known as idol of idols and considered as one of the best, if not the best, dancer in kpop. The only ones without solo albums at present are Sehun and Chanyeol. Both sub-units have their own albums.
Yes, they all have experience in acting, but D.O. is the most proficient actor of the group. He’s the lead role of South Korea’s most anticipated blockbuster film this year, The Moon, which premieres tomorrow domestically. He’s been super busy this month promoting The Moon. If you’d like, you can check out the international trailer on your own time! 😊 It will be screened worldwide so maybe there’s a chance you can see it at your local movie theater!
Kai is doing military service so he wasn't on Killing Voice. He's an all rounder like all the EXO members. You can check out his solos and film projects. You'll be amazed.
EXO is like the AVENGERS of KPOP. This group is very well balance. You can find groups that excel in rap, dancing, singing but EXO is doing it all. Its amazing how SM put up all these members in one group.❤ Their discography is gold not just bcoz their popular that their songs are popular but because their songs are really good and timeless plus their live performances are unmatched!❤
D.O. is actually the main actor in a blockbuster movie that came out yesterday called 'The Moon'. The same director that directed 'the Moon' also directed another movie (Along with the Gods) that is the 3rd highest-grossing film in South-Korea (D.O. actually played in that movie as well). D.O. is also releasing his second solo album in September. That man has such a packed schedule managing both his singing and acting career. Baekhyun actually mentioned recently how he admires D.O. that he can do both and is so succesfull in both. There's a reason D.O. is called the vocal and acting king of the Korean entertainment industry.
Kai is in the military, Lay in China and in a couple of days Sehun will enlist. The rest of the member finished their time already. Xiumin was in a dangerous unit during his time there. He is also a musical actor, he participated in a military one together with D.O, and recently he was in Hades Town. He has a solo mini album "Brand new" D.O joined the military way before his time and was a cook, which is quite a hard job. He has several dramas and Movies. His latest movie that will be in cinema in August 2, is already in the list to be possible to be nominated for an oscar. Is called "The Moon" Suho has 2 mini albums. He trained for so long because he was meant to be in Shinee but he hurt his leg very badly and he couldn't be alright for that group on time, so he has to wait until the next group was to debut. That injure is what forced him uo do social work instead of active soldier duty on his military time. He participated in several musicals. The one in the clip "The men who laughs" is based on a book of Victor Hugo with the same name and that character is what inspired the creators of D.C's Joker. Right now he is in the musical "Mozart" and his new drama is soon to air. Chen is married and has 2 daughters now. Many korean fans got angry about it and wanted him out of exo but they decided he wouldn't leave ( thankfully) now days those fans finally shut up and he is more accepted again. He is the only one that doesn't have much acting activity ( only one musical "in the heights" and a cameo in "exo next door") but he sang much more OSTs that what is mentioned here. He was an active soldier in his military time. BaekHyun was a social worker on his military because he suffers from Hypothyroidism. He has been in musicals too like "dancing in the rain" he also has a lot of OSTs and 4 mini albums. The backlash is what you think. Fans get angry that idols date and so they harassed them heavily until the idols have to apologise for it ask Forgiveness from the fans and break up. Is a horrible thing and is mostly done by korean fans. BaekHyun and Taeyeon had it really bad because they both really famous. Chanyeol was the main character in his military musical "Meissa" It became so popular that they even showed it online. He is the first idol to get a photocard from the military. He got several awards as leader of his unit as an active soldier. He was promoted the 3 times by test with medals. He has his own music producing company. His OST for Goblin "Stay with me" is the most viewed ost of a kdrama. He has a new RUclips channel. He is also the face for Aqua di Parma and Prada. Kai recently enlisted and Sehun will join now in August. Kai is serving a social worker because he has a lot of leg and back injuries. Sehun most probably will join as an active soldier. Those are my updates for you. 😊
The fact: baekhyunie is the first soloist with millions album is true (before baekhyun not soloist can be millions seller in K-pop), baekhyunie of EXO is the first one.❤
Don't worry on recognizing their name, you'll get them eventually along your journey. I'm sure you'll know their each voice in no time because they had different tone and color. Have a great journey with EXO, welcome to EXO Planet. Thanks for the reaction, always loved it ❤
One thing about exo that I really admire is the fact these guys made an effort to improve in every aspect of their career. Like some of them didn't debut with the best acting skill, but as time passed they actually improved so much that they were seen as actual actors by the industry. Kpop idols tend to have stigma when it comes to their acting career, there's some truth to it. Which is why it's impressive to see them breaking that stereotype with their own effort.
Ooh! I think we might’ve been at the same Dreamcatcher gig! I didn’t think the venue would have bluetooth working and I initially thought my lightstick had broke until i realised everyone else’s had changed colour too 😂
The dance move you were asking about, I believe it’s called isolations. Kai excels at doing isolations. If you get an opportunity to react to Kai’s work he has two Film Kai’s the first for his first album and Film: Kai #Rover for his third album. They are both works of art. Thanks for the reaction. Enjoyed it.
EXO's vocal bench is quite deep. Imagine having a main rapper and main dancer who both could sing very well, I guess that says a lot about their vocal prowess. Thank you very much for checking them out :)
It’s always so fun to see someone starting their EXO-L journey!! I’m very late to your video but you mentioned confusion at 24:00 about the backlash between Baekhyun and Taeyeon dating and it’s a bit of a deep dive so I hope I can possibly give a little clarity if no one else has yet! Now it’s partially speculation, but a lot of fans of both idols were upset by the announcement because their relationship was revealed in 2014, when Kris and Luhan were leaving SM. Baekhyun was a rookie idol at the time still since it was barely two years after EXO’s debut, and it is downright unheard of for a company to reveal a rookie idol as being in a relationship, much less with one of the most prominent female idols of all time. This has come to some believing the whole thing was possibly a publicity stunt to try and protect SM’s image by distracting people from the idols leaving due to SM’s mistreatment, considering a member from Taeyeon’s group also left SM the same year. The backlash stemmed from that as well as some fans feeling betrayed that their idols were in their eyes continuing like nothing was happening when the members leaving both groups was a huge deal at the time, as well as general betrayal that goes in hand with the typical style of marketing idols as being dateable so when an idol has a partner and shatters the illusion, it causes a stir. That was mostly the reaction about Kai and Krystal (who is the sister of the idol that left Girls’ Generation which caused a big stir as you can possibly imagine) and Kai and Jennie, though Kai and Jennie had a much more positive reaction overall from what I noticed!
EXO is a K-pop vocal king group, has K-pop genius idol Baekhyun, and has K-pop's best dancer Kai. They are still K-pop-oriented and will be forever. ❤ Your video is interesting and I will find EXO videos and come back. I'll look forward to it. I subscribed.
as if 2021, d.o also has a solo mini album. it's acoustic r&b and it's really quite good. there's an english version of the title song on it, as well as a spanish version of one of the other songs that is really incredible. as far as i know, he doesn't speak any languages other than korean with any proficiency--he just has a good ear for the way other languages sound.
Honestly this is a very outdated guide. But Honestly they have no updated guide either lol the best guide right now would be Cesar oh's individual guides. But it's one guide per members. Thank you for delving deeper into them though!!
Cesar oh used to have an exo group guide, do you guys know and remember it? But its now made a private video, i dont know when but i really wonder why... it was the best exo group guide! You can check out other 2year old reactors react to that video
Yes , they work for big brands , they are the richest kpop group right now , thank you for reacting them, I hope you will react to their live performances
Since you like Chen so much, I think apart from checking his solo work, you can check out the exo subunit, EXO-CBX which consists of Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin. I’m pretty sure you would like their music as well.😍
Nice. Yes Lay was in the Acoustic Session, he sat on the far left and played the black guitar. If you would like to see them dance, you should check out some of their dance practice for Cream Soda, The Eve, Monster or Electric Kiss. They are not only amazing vocalists but also amazing dancers. Harch backlash I think happens often in Korea. When Chen got married, several people wanted him to leave the group. But he got the full support of the other members in the group. Sometimes when they sing the song Dont Go live they point at Chen in the middle of the song.
If you count in all the former members, the 12 of them are all actor. you might not find Chen act in tv series or movies like the others, but he did play in musical theater once.
Wow, what an incredible journey! 🌟 As a new EXO fan, watching The Ultimate Guide to EXO was such a fantastic experience. I'm in awe of their talent, versatility, and the immense love they have from their fans. The history, achievements, and charisma of each member are truly impressive. I'm thrilled to be a part of this amazing fandom and can't wait to explore more of EXO's incredible music and performances. Thank you for sharing this fantastic reaction video! 💖🎉
This is why EXO are known as VOCAL KINGS OF KPOP a very well deserved title. If you want more in-depth look into each member look up Cesar Oh's EXO guides trust us they're really good & you'll get to know the boys so much more. It was however done a few years ago so obviously more updates are needed but with time you'll get there. Yes every single member is an actor, singer etc. They're the whole package, to train under sm which is extremely brutal (not that we agree w/their approach on training 😑) you HAVE to be trained in EVERYTHING if you want to succeed. Doesn't matter what you go in for, you will be trained for everything & EXO isn't an exception but they definitely excelled in every area there is and we're immensely proud of them cuz after all their hard work, turmoil, struggles and fame they remain as humble as can be. So literally THANK YOU for giving them this chance and supporting them as you have you're officially welcome into our family 💙☺️ Now as for the dreaded bs backlash some members have received for simply falling in love that's a topic we hate to discuss cuz it so unwarranted for all parties involved. The reasons are obviously jealousy, many fake fans & antis despise idols being in relationships especially male idols. They try to claim them as literal personal property not even allowed to breathe or be normal humans who fall in love if its not with them 🙄 Yes they're that delusional, disgusting ik. Chen is the member who got the worst hate as he obviously got married & started a family of his own which btw he has 2 beautiful baby girls, real exol do support him. Unfortunately til this day, literally 3 years after his announcement was made (through a hand written letter btw) he's still receiving hate by those damn psycho delulus. They've tried forcing him out of the group but our Chen isn't going anywhere. His EXO members back him up & support him 200% like real family does. If any member "dares" have a relationship w/anyone this is what happens to them they get hate which is ridiculous, but luckily EXO doesn't give 2 shits about these fakes, they know their real fans. It's honestly so sickening how ppl do things like this to anyone let alone Idols 😑 but don't worry they are loved so much more, supported and protected by many who win over these weirdos. I hope that explained it enough, but lets not focus on that anymore. EXO DESERVES TO BE HAPPY AND LOVED BY ALL so again thank you for giving them some love. Can't wait for the next reaction. 💙💙💙
would love to see your reaction to THE IMPACT OF EXO - This is Who EXO REALLY Is. (Mini Deep Dive) it's definitely worth a look! looking forward to more of your reactions to EXO.
yes all of them are alraunded, all of them can sing, rap, dance, act and all of them are models as well and they are writting their own songs as well oh and one more thing they are ost singers to sometimes they sing ost for their members films
Thank you for your wonderful reactions..I hope you could also check out their individual guide for you to know them better..Exo are amazingly talented an out of this world vocals I'm sure you'll gonna love them even more after you check out their live stages❤
love this reaction because now i'll be able to join you in this journey. i'm an exo-l since 2016 (Monster era) tbh i jumped straight to their discography and never really cared about their other side jobs. this guide provides very good information for me too. lets go do this together!
Unfortunately, K-pop doesn't look at idol relationships well, so that's why their reception is usually negative. Chen, if I'm not mistaken, is the only idol with kids (because he already has two) and a wife, and he's still part of the team, even though the Korean fandom wanted him out of EXO so hard. They picked and so on and I think if it wasn't EXO that member would have been kicked out, but the EXO members are like family to each other, they once said they would stay together (leave the label together or start their own) and they keep their word. This guide is outdated, so e.g. Baek has released two more albums (one Korean, one Japanese), Xiumin has released one album, Kai has three albums in total, Suho has two, D.O has also released his own album and is working on another one. Also, Chen has a total of three Korean albums and his Japanese album (which is supposed to be rock-themed!) is coming out soon. It would be nice if you would react to some EXO shows to see their relationship and energy (they are very chaotic and loud, be warned), like: ruclips.net/video/88Kzr7ZhTag/видео.html (No Baek because he was in the army at the time) ruclips.net/video/8KjOSTbpJ1A/видео.html (part 1) ruclips.net/video/bECYzEFyGHE/видео.html (part 2, these videos came out after Kai released his third album and the members check him out, pretending he's a new idol to then decide if he's fit to debut) When it comes to songs, I recommend watching performances from their concerts: ruclips.net/video/tmuUOALe5pc/видео.html (Diamond+Coming Over+Run This+Drop That+Power) ruclips.net/video/syboN0z07xM/видео.html (Tempo+24/7+Don't go+Wait) ruclips.net/video/a8UeSVgiXmI/видео.html (Wolf remix) ruclips.net/video/QEo5hAQKCnw/видео.html (El Dorado) ruclips.net/video/kdRkknhI3Ao/видео.html (Cream soda live) and ruclips.net/video/2wXXQ-GJIU4/видео.html (Growl) Thank you for your reaction!
YOU ROCK ROSS! Thank you so much for taking the time to check out Exo's group guide. May I suggest, no matter when you can get to it, or how long it takes, Exo's individual guides to familiarize yourself with names and faces as you check out their music on the side. I'm a born and bred American who fell into the Kpop hole in 2006, and found Exo in 2011 and have been in love ever since. Why? Vocals pure and simple. And these are very bonded, funny, honest and humble men who stole my heart and have made me an undying fan. I love all Kpop, and the vast variety of talent these young artists have. If it wasn't for serious talent and back breaking training these groups would not have made it to where they are now. There are hundreds of people who try out to be kpop artists, but only a few, like the ones you are able to check out, can really stand the test of time. Exo came out the gate in 2012 and were serious hard working guys back then, and they made their mark in the kpop industry fairly young, they joined SM after high school, some were in school when training, and when SM formed the group, it changed my life. I had my favorites in all Western music at the time too, but kpop ruled my world. Kpop puts the time and money, production and expertise into creating music videos, and they know how to attract people into watching, and that's what is going on now...kpop is now a worldwide trend, and I love that. But in 2012 there were no chances for the Western scene to consider Asian artists as a thing like they do now...but they need to look more into Kpop and see that there is an endless amount of talent waiting....there is more than Bts and Blackpink out there, I mean, can you like and eat only one flavor of candy the rest of your life? Not me. I need variety and different tastes to be happy. So we all should appreciate all that kpop has to offer. But many people are giving kpop a chance today. And if it were acceptable at the time, Exo would've been discovered back in 2012 and been an item. But the rest of the world sure took Exo in regardless of Western validation. Exo do not make music to please the Western scene. They just love to sing. They do not do it for awards of any kind. Their ambitions do not in the slightest involve Billboard or Grammy stature, they are performing for us, the fans. And I don't mind keeping them to myself. Exo became the most popular and successful group starting back in 2012. Even Bts were starting up at the same time, but never quite reached the status Exo did as a very young group. Exo had those vocals, and became viral because of it, and became very successful because of it. Many of the groups back then had grown up watching Exo smash the kpop scene. And Exo is one of the richest group's out there with their staying power and incredible music. Oh yes, with the 9 members of Exo : Suho, Chen, Xiumin (Shoo-min), Sehun, Lay, D.O., Baekhyun, Chanyeol and Kai, You should check out "Individual Guides by Cesar Oh". Take your time. Get to know these guys. No matter how long it takes. Exo is a journey, some have taken a year to learn about them and we come along for the ride. Thank you Ross! 💙🌺
Just FYI: Xiumin is pronounced like Shoe-min or Shoo-min, X in Chinese is pronounced like the sh sound in English (Not a z sound). Even though Kim MinSeok is Korean, he was given a Chinese stage name because he is one of the two Korean members of EXO-M, so it was meant to help him relate better with their Chinese audience. Plus, Kim MinSeok is actually a fairly common name in Korea -- I personally can think of 3 other idols/actors/celebrities whose name is Kim MinSeok -- so he was also given a stage name to help distinguish him from everyone else. If you want to know how to pronounce EXO's names and get to know the members better individually, then I suggest you check out the 9 individual member guides by Cesar Oh. In each guide it pronounces the name for you so you know what it's supposed to sound like and explains a little more of some of the things they only just touched on in this guide. Cesar Oh's guides are kind of a companion to the "Ultimate Guide to EXO." Unfortunately, the political climate between Korea and China was only a little better for a short time. However, since this guide was made, China's Idol culture has become even more restrictive after the election of their new president. Plus, Lay left SM Entertainment last year, but he has made it clear that he hasn't left EXO. Although there are still several obstacles in his way to being able to work with EXO. Therefore, it probably still will be some time, if ever, before we see Lay working in person with the rest of EXO. We finally got to see Lay in an EXO project in 2021 -- the first time since 2016 -- with EXO's "Don't Fight The Feeling" MV, but he really didn't get to work with EXO because of the pandemic, etc. Everything he did for that MV was done remotely and independently and inserted into the song and MV. You should check out Lay's lyric video for his song "Jiu," a song on his album, East, which was released after he announced his departure from SM. This song is evidence that he has not left EXO and that he still considers himself part of the group, as every word of the song is a tribute to EXO. I have also read that on Webo (the Chinese internet platform) he mentioned how he was working out a deal with SM that could possibly allow him to still continue to do projects with EXO in the future. (I mean it's possible, Taecyeon from 2PM left JYP Entertainment, but he worked out a deal with his new company that has allowed him to continue activities with 2PM. And even more encouraging, is the fact that Girls' Generation had a comeback last year for their 15th anniversary with all 8 members even though 3 members left SM 5 years ago.) I mean, SM has been supporting Lay in everything he has been doing so far, including endorsing him when he started his trainee company Chromosome. And I don't think there is any bad blood or uneasy feelings between Lay and SM, so anything is possible. Right now, all the members who were in the military in this guide have all returned. However, Kai just recently enlisted and Sehun, who are the maknaes of the group, will probably be enlisting soon. Kai and Lay are the two that are currently missing from the group, but Lay is not in the military. Yes, you will discover that all the members of EXO are actors, and most of them have starred in K-dramas and movies and/or are musical stage actors. Promoting as a group only takes up a few weeks a year, so in order to fill their time and continue to make money all Idols have side projects, which means most idols also spend time as actors, models, Radio DJs, authors, music producers, songwriters, regular/main cast members on variety shows, etc. Their side projects also are part of their cross promotions as idols. Someone who doesn't know them may watch them in a drama or movie or see them promoting a brand or product, etc., which leads to them discovering their group and music, or the person my be a fan of them as a singer and this makes them want to watch their movie or drama, etc. it's all about getting their name and face out there in as many ways as possible in order to drive sales and viewership of everything they are involved in. Being a trainee for 7 years isn't that uncommon. If you start to really look into it, you will find a lot of Idols who have trained for a very long time before they debuted. However, it all depends on how talented someone is or how much experience they have had before becoming a trainee as to how long they train. Some idols only train for a few weeks or a few months, where others could take years and they may be on the verge of giving up when the company finally decides they are ready to debut. And some trainees may never debut and end up leaving the company or industry. Unfortunately, just because you are a trainee doesn't guarantee you will debut. A lot of it is pure talent and luck combined with sheer dedication. One of the main reasons why Suho was a trainee for 7 years was because he originally started out as a member of SHINee. However, right before SHINee was to debut in 2008, Suho injured his knee, which caused him to have to stop training for awhile. So SM decided to debut SHINee without Suho. He ended up having to wait 4 more years before he debuted as the leader of EXO. But, by all accounts, this worked out for the best because he became the leader, and as the other EXO members say, he was born to be a leader. If he had stayed a member of SHINee he never would have become a leader, because Onew -- who is the leader of SHINee -- is 2 years older than Suho, and at the time of SHINee's debut it was pretty much a given that the oldest member would automatically be the leader. However, 4 years later when EXO debuted, the rules within the industry had kind of changed and it was no longer a hard and fast rule that the oldest would be the leader. Case in point, Xiumin is the oldest EXO member and, yet, Suho became the leader. The only reason why you haven't seen more idols who are older than you is because you have pretty much only been watching 3rd and 4th generation Kpop groups and artists, which means they debuted 3rd gen. from 2012-2018 or 4th gen. 2019 to present. EXO was the first group to debut in the beginning of 3rd gen. Which means that most idols are still very young. But if you really get into Kpop and start watching more groups, such as 2nd gen. group SHINee, you will find that there are plenty of 1st ad 2nd gen. idols who are still very much active in the industry, who are your age or older than you. ;) EXO just had their 11th anniversary, and SHINee just had their 15th anniversary.
That guide is old, some no longer work with those brands work with others or have worked, all but Chanyeol and Sehun have several mini albums, D.O releases his second mini album in September, to your question D.O speaks English and Japanese plus his native language, but you do not usually see him speaking many other languages unless necessary, he is very shy and embarrassed, he plays the guitar (Lay also plays guitar and piano) D.O already has more than 25 awards for his performance and among them "Blue dragon"
Cesar oh used to have a whole exo group guide, i dont know why it's made private or deleted from youtube now. It was the best and the most recently updated one :((
looking forward for your new reactions! yes, being in relationships is considered as a scandal in kpop. many fans, especially korean ones (but not only) don't like it, because in their opinion kpop idols are supposed to be single to devote themselves to the fans. some idols have in their contracts a dating ban at least for several years after debut and there were cases in kpop when people were kicked out of their groups and companies after it was revealed they are dating. there are many people who want Chen to be kicked out of exo because he is married and has 2 kids. it is a dark side of parasocial relationships dominating in kpop between idols and their fans. you seemed to be puzzled by Super M. this is a group under SM entertainment which consists of most popular members of popular boy groups under SM - it has Taemin from Shinee, Baekhyun & Kai from exo and 4 members from NCT. they are sometimes called avengers of kpop.
if you want to recognise them well you have to watch their variety shows like EXO Showtime and EXO Ladder 1, 2 and the new one 3.. welcome to the fandome
Being called an Idol in South Korea has deep meaning. It means that they are ready to be perfect role models and put their fans first. This leads to an emphasis on idol/fan relations with great fan service and masses of merchandise. The down side is that fans can feel they have a right to a say in the Idol's private lives. If they do not like what their Idol is doing, including dating, they are very vocal about it. For example, many thought Taeyeon, despite her own fame, was trying to use Baekhyun to get more in the spotlight, and she is also older, so she was not liked. For Kai, Crystal faced much the same, but Jennie was reasonably approved of. There are also some mad 'fans' who get jealous and non-fans who want to stir problems. Fans also believe their Idols should not lie to them, should always put them first and be pure role models. This is what hit Chen as he got his secret girlfriend pregnant outside of marriage. Unfortunately, in South Korea, once something is reported, it often does not need any follow up or proof for fans to react and make up their minds. The media have caught some Idols doing wrong, but have also reported early and ruined careers. Even when the truth is revealed - most often in these cases when women have lied - the damage is often irreversible. In the West, we don't tend to react to our pop stars as Idols, so it is hard to understand the thought processes that Korean fans go through, especially when we do not agree or approve. May I encourage you to watch any of Kai's solos. He is a performer, so all his songs are made with thought to the performance side. The MVs are excellent, but if you want to see the dance you need to see live performances or dance practices. His first album and third album have performance videos to promote them that are insanely good - Film: Kai and Film: Kai Rover. He did not have enough time for the second album, so did a shorter mood sample instead. Lastly, liking Kai and Baekhyun leads to SM's supergroup SuperM. It is made up from these two from EXO, with members from NCT and Shinee, so it is a good way to get to know the SM style more. Their first release was the epic Jopping.
Yes all is actor except daddy CHEN. Now CHEN have 2 beautiful kids. Individual guide would be great ☺️ EXO’s Mv by chronological order would be more easy for you to understand on their group concept and storyline. They have 2 versions (Korean & mandarin) when they debut in subunits EXO-K & EXO-M. Pre-debut: “What is love” “History” Debut: “MAMA” Thanks for react to EXO 🩵
re: harsh backlash, so traditionally idol group members have a very particular parasocial relationship with their fans, in which they are supposed to present themselves as being single with no real romantic life to sell the fantasy that when they sing these songs, they're singing them about and for the fans. The vast majority of idols are not supposed to date (and if they do anyways, they're meant to keep it very VERY on the down-low), otherwise their fans will go bonkers. Idols and their partners have been harassed, threatened, stalked, etc. especially if their partner isn't famous themselves. This is slowly changing over time as people begin to separate more between an idol's persona and their private life and as Kpop gets more international, since international fans tend to not share the same ideas of "idol purity," but it's still pretty ingrained. This also is not specific to Korea (Japanese idols have the same dynamic). Hope that helps!
Hola me gustan tus reacciones.
Backlash and scandal are by words in S Korea. Apparently, Kpop idols aren’t ever supposed to have a personal life!! Obviously all S Korean fans aren’t so rabid. But when Chen got married, there were many EXO-Ls who wanted him to leave the group. Of course, international fans and the other members of EXO said “no way.“ He and his wife now have two daughters. I don’t think he’s appeared in any live shows in Korea since that “scandal.” I know he was in Germany and it must have been nice to be welcomed. Dating is also worthy of scandal and backlash!!! So most idols keep it as private as possible. Chanyeol had a big scandal because some girl claimed to be in a relationship with him and he treated her badly. Other silly scandals in Kpop would be caught smoking cigarettes or gaining too much weight ( if you are female) or losing too much weight. Serious scandals are drugs, even if done in another country; gambling, DUIs, sexual relationships, being gay, and being a bully in middle school or high school! Or leaving the country to avoid compulsory military service. (They will never get to come home. ) So called fans and management and brand name companies don’t even wait for any investigation about the issue, but idols have to immediately write an apology, go on hiatus to “reflect” on their behavior. Some have lost thousands of dollars in brand product advertising. Even worse, some have been fired from projects and blacklisted; their careers completely ruined. All before there’s been any investigation! And since people can write anything in anonymous posts, these idols get accused of everything. Too many times, the charges have been false, but the idols lives are ruined. There have even been suicides among idols because of these ridiculous stories. I know, to Westerners, it’s hard to understand. I think you were right about jealousy. Especially teen girls daydream about marrying their favorite idol, but when the idol is dating or married, all dreams are smashed.
Hola saludos desde México Todo fan de EXO debe ver Expoplanet #4 in Seúl Canciones: Diamond+Coming Over+ Run + Drop that+ power Es un video largo, pero es el final del concierto de verdad no te lo puedes perder, te va encantarr
I wish guides wouldn't bring up people they dated 10 years ago. Fans still talk about it and it's embarrassing to see people still bringing it up. Who wants to talk about someone they dated 10 years ago?
The info about Baekhyun being the first male artist in Korea to sell a million copies is not correct. He was the first to do it in 19 yrs up to that point. 🙂
I don't know if this is what you were thinking, but yes, sadly backlash means fans hating on the boys for having a girlfriend, causing as much trouble as possible to forcing a couple to break up. They threaten to talk bad about them on social media and boycott, or create such chaos for the group and demand that member leave the group. Do you call that a fan? REAL fans, like me, love and support all that these artists in what they do, just be cautious and responsible in your actions. And if it wasn't for the real fans, who outweigh the crazy SO CALLED FANS 10 to 1, these crazy fans would not have been bulldozed over countering all the hate. That's the fear kpop artists have, not being able to have a social life or else the group suffers. It's not fair, and i oppose that every time. And that's for all kpop artists. 💙🌺
thank you so much for this awesome video!! I'm super impressed at your ability to recognise them from the past videos you watched!! The fact that you recognised Lay from the acoustic medley performance even though he barely had much screentime REALLY impressed me! I hope you can watch more of their live concert performances, they are such great performers and so incredible at their craft! I think you would really love these live performances: ruclips.net/video/tmuUOALe5pc/видео.html + ruclips.net/video/BNVClseaDTY/видео.html + ruclips.net/video/KvgCMvB9VQk/видео.html (this is the song with the beautiful piano instrumental that played during Sehun's dance part) + ruclips.net/video/wBg_1MNrg6k/видео.html also linking for you the whisper game that you mentioned seemed funny: ruclips.net/video/BwyhTrrLJrg/видео.html this is their own little game show that they had a couple years back where they play games and just be generally chaotic: ruclips.net/p/PLMykjDwlo96wS-y34DonjLYhq7Sc4U4-3 would absolutely love for you to check out more of their solo work, Chen's three solo albums are breathtaking and I think you'd really enjoy them! Thank you for your hard work!
Unfortunately, the dating backlash issues pretty much do boil down to jealousy and stupid fan stuff. Chen still gets hate about his marriage and his kids from certain segments of the fandom. Other idols have literally either been kicked out of their groups, labels, or find themselves on lengthy hiatuses because of their relationships that didn't meet fan approval, even though those "fans" will swear up and down that's not actually the reason. It's so ridiculous.
D.O premieres on August 2 his next film "The moon" has been sold to 155 countries and is expected to be a great success, is one of those chosen to be nominated for the Oscars...
i can't believe the person who made the video included 'satansoo' in the compliation, violent tendencies?? what... to me, only antis call kyungsoo that. tf guys... it's a dirty move to call him that in a video thatnew people, potential fans will see.... not cool, seriously,
Fun Facts: EXO is the very first K-Pop group to debut with a whole back story and concept.
CHANYEOL is the brand ambassador for PRADA. SEHUN is the first male global ambassador for DIOR.
Kai was the first male ambassador for Bobbie Brown and is now a global ambassador for YSL
Chanyeol is also embassador for Aqua di Parma.
Kai is first korean Gucci global brand ambassador
If you want to check the individual guides of EXO, please choose vids by Cesar Oh. Yes, they are all tv/movie actors, except Chen who is a musical actor. D.O has a movie called The Moon coming out in August 2023. He's a brilliant actor. He doesn't speak much English. However, D.O. would try really hard to get the pronunciation right when singing foreign songs. He even has an English and Spanish song in his album. Kai is known as idol of idols and considered as one of the best, if not the best, dancer in kpop. The only ones without solo albums at present are Sehun and Chanyeol. Both sub-units have their own albums.
up ❗️
uppp!!!
Upppp
Up
Yes, they all have experience in acting, but D.O. is the most proficient actor of the group.

Glad you were able to check out a guide. Looking forward your journey with them
😄👌
Chen's vocals give me goosebumps too. That's why although I absolutely adore all of them, and love all their vocals, for me Chen is my #1.
He has a solo mini album "Brand new"
D.O joined the military way before his time and was a cook, which is quite a hard job. He has several dramas and Movies. His latest movie that will be in cinema in August 2, is already in the list to be possible to be nominated for an oscar. Is called "The Moon"
Suho has 2 mini albums.
Individual Guide by Cesar Oh is the best. You should also check that out. You get to know more about their personalities 🙃
EXO👍, Love EXO❤️
They’re multitalented, great vocal, great dancing.👍😍
Enjoyed it.
UP..Yes, please
EXO in Knowing brothers is so funny. I love those chapters. You have to check it out.
EXO's vocal bench is quite deep. Imagine having a main rapper and main dancer who both could sing very well, I guess that says a lot about their vocal prowess. Thank you very much for checking them out :)
Sehun is now Dior ambassador
Your video is interesting and I will find EXO videos and come back. I'll look forward to it. I subscribed.
LIVe exo is even better than the studio versions….u just have to experience it,,,,.exo concerts are fire
as if 2021, d.o also has a solo mini album. it's acoustic r&b and it's really quite good. there's an english version of the title song on it, as well as a spanish version of one of the other songs that is really incredible. as far as i know, he doesn't speak any languages other than korean with any proficiency--he just has a good ear for the way other languages sound.
Honestly this is a very outdated guide. But Honestly they have no updated guide either lol the best guide right now would be Cesar oh's individual guides. But it's one guide per members. Thank you for delving deeper into them though!!
I was going to say the same thing 😅 and the clips used aren’t the best…
up 😭
Cesar oh used to have an exo group guide, do you guys know and remember it? But its now made a private video, i dont know when but i really wonder why... it was the best exo group guide! You can check out other 2year old reactors react to that video
Thank you for reaction about exo
Exo is legend
Exo king vocal
Exo all members talented
Yay! You are an EXO-L now 🎉❤ congratulation.
EXO is the best boy group in Kpop period . Just the sheer amount of talent this group has is mind boggling apart from being singers.
So literally THANK YOU for giving them this chance and supporting them as you have you're officially welcome into our family 💙☺️
Now as for the dreaded bs backlash some members have received for simply falling in love that's a topic we hate to discuss cuz it so unwarranted for all parties involved.
Thanks for reaction to EXO. We need more EXO reaction from you
Thank you for your wonderful reactions..I hope you could also check out their individual guide for you to know them better..Exo are amazingly talented an out of this world vocals I'm sure you'll gonna love them even more after you check out their live stages❤
love this reaction because now i'll be able to join you in this journey. i'm an exo-l since 2016 (Monster era) tbh i jumped straight to their discography and never really cared about their other side jobs. this guide provides very good information for me too. lets go do this together!
thank you so much for the reaction! really enjoy it. we do appreciate it. can't wait for more exo reaction!!
It would be nice if you would react to some EXO shows to see their relationship and energy (they are very chaotic and loud, be warned), like:
ruclips.net/video/88Kzr7ZhTag/видео.html (No Baek because he was in the army at the time)
ruclips.net/video/8KjOSTbpJ1A/видео.html (part 1)
ruclips.net/video/bECYzEFyGHE/видео.html (part 2, these videos came out after Kai released his third album and the members check him out, pretending he's a new idol to then decide if he's fit to debut)
When it comes to songs, I recommend watching performances from their concerts:
ruclips.net/video/tmuUOALe5pc/видео.html (Diamond+Coming Over+Run This+Drop That+Power)
ruclips.net/video/syboN0z07xM/видео.html (Tempo+24/7+Don't go+Wait)
ruclips.net/video/a8UeSVgiXmI/видео.html (Wolf remix)
ruclips.net/video/QEo5hAQKCnw/видео.html (El Dorado)
ruclips.net/video/kdRkknhI3Ao/видео.html (Cream soda live) and ruclips.net/video/2wXXQ-GJIU4/видео.html (Growl)
Thank you for your reaction!
I believe iKon's Bobby and BigBang's Taeyang have kids. Not sure if they're married though.
Changmin of TVXQ, Taeyang of Big Bang, Bobby of iKon, Chansung of 2PM, Minhwan of FT Island all are married with kids and still part of their groups.
Thank you . I love exo:)
just subscribed bec of your exo reactions😊😊
Oh yes, with the 9 members of Exo : Suho, Chen, Xiumin (Shoo-min), Sehun, Lay, D.O., Baekhyun, Chanyeol and Kai,
You should check out "Individual Guides by Cesar Oh".
Cesar Oh's guides are kind of a companion to the "Ultimate Guide to EXO."
Unfortunately, the political climate between Korea and China was only a little better for a short time.
More exo please😊
This was fun! Thanks for taking the time to watch such a long guide 😊
Oh hello friend! Fancy meeting you here. 😁
@@kristenblack6026just saw this ! 😊👋🏼
Thanks for your reactions❤🎉
Exo MAMA+Monster+Wolf live in Japan reaction please
That guide is old, some no longer work with those brands work with others or have worked, all but Chanyeol and Sehun have several mini albums, D.O releases his second mini album in September, to your question D.O speaks English and Japanese plus his native language, but you do not usually see him speaking many other languages unless necessary, he is very shy and embarrassed, he plays the guitar (Lay also plays guitar and piano) D.O already has more than 25 awards for his performance and among them "Blue dragon"
Cesar oh used to have a whole exo group guide, i dont know why it's made private or deleted from youtube now. It was the best and the most recently updated one :((
Thank you 😊❤Exo ❤
Thank you for this reaction , try watching their live concert performance 😊
looking forward for your new reactions!
yes, being in relationships is considered as a scandal in kpop. many fans, especially korean ones (but not only) don't like it, because in their opinion kpop idols are supposed to be single to devote themselves to the fans. some idols have in their contracts a dating ban at least for several years after debut and there were cases in kpop when people were kicked out of their groups and companies after it was revealed they are dating. there are many people who want Chen to be kicked out of exo because he is married and has 2 kids. it is a dark side of parasocial relationships dominating in kpop between idols and their fans.
you seemed to be puzzled by Super M. this is a group under SM entertainment which consists of most popular members of popular boy groups under SM - it has Taemin from Shinee, Baekhyun & Kai from exo and 4 members from NCT. they are sometimes called avengers of kpop.
Thank you for reaction EXO ❤
if you want to recognise them well you have to watch their variety shows like EXO Showtime and EXO Ladder 1, 2 and the new one 3.. welcome to the fandome
Welcome to exo planet!!
Yes let's go ❤❤❤
Thank you so much sir for your time
Being called an Idol in South Korea has deep meaning.
Maybe you want to check out the individual guides for exo from ceaser oh channel it's really helping up with remembering them better
check out their live concerts. WOLF
My amazing guys❤
Yes all is actor except daddy CHEN. Now CHEN have 2 beautiful kids. Individual guide would be great ☺️ EXO’s Mv by chronological order would be more easy for you to understand on their group concept and storyline. They have 2 versions (Korean & mandarin) when they debut in subunits EXO-K & EXO-M.
Pre-debut:
“What is love”
“History”
Debut: “MAMA”
Thanks for react to EXO 🩵
Reacts to exo’s live performances. There is a very good video that has their performances singing 24/7, weather and other songs.
Please do exo live stage than mv ❤
re: harsh backlash, so traditionally idol group members have a very particular parasocial relationship with their fans, in which they are supposed to present themselves as being single with no real romantic life to sell the fantasy that when they sing these songs, they're singing them about and for the fans.
Y como fan de exo te recomiendo ver: lightsabe (en concierto +transformar + overdose)
Baby dont cry ( concierto in Japan)
(They will never get to come home. )
So called fans and management and brand name companies don’t even wait for any investigation about the issue, but idols have to immediately write an apology, go on hiatus to “reflect” on their behavior.
Hola saludos desde México
Todo fan de EXO debe ver
Expoplanet #4 in Seúl
Canciones: Diamond+Coming Over+ Run + Drop that+ power
Es un video largo, pero es el final del concierto de verdad no te lo puedes perder, te va encantarr
One hr video. Thank you sir
Heading down that rabbit hole😂😂❤❤
I wish guides wouldn't bring up people they dated 10 years ago. Fans still talk about it and it's embarrassing to see people still bringing it up. Who wants to talk about someone they dated 10 years ago?
does it matter though? baek’s dating scandal had a massive impact on exo but especially him.
The info about Baekhyun being the first male artist in Korea to sell a million copies is not correct. He was the first to do it in 19 yrs up to that point. 🙂
Yes Sehun doesn’t look and doesn’t really act as the maknae
even the members say it lol
If you are going to reaction to obsession mv please reaction to the live performance too(exo version and x-exo version) they are amazing
Love exo vocal kings❤. Btw can you watch Taeyeon stuff to? Fan fact: Exo Baekhyun dated Taeyeon once
💙🌺
This is just a rough guide, touch and go... haha but you should probably go down their discography.. damn nice songs
Not the guide spoiling all my suggestions 😂
we would recommend all anyways lol
Subscribed 🎉🎉🎉
thank you so much for this awesome video!! I'm super impressed at your ability to recognise them from the past videos you watched!! The fact that you recognised Lay from the acoustic medley performance even though he barely had much screentime REALLY impressed me! I hope you can watch more of their live concert performances, they are such great performers and so incredible at their craft!
I think you would really love these live performances: ruclips.net/video/tmuUOALe5pc/видео.html + ruclips.net/video/BNVClseaDTY/видео.html + ruclips.net/video/KvgCMvB9VQk/видео.html (this is the song with the beautiful piano instrumental that played during Sehun's dance part) + ruclips.net/video/wBg_1MNrg6k/видео.html
also linking for you the whisper game that you mentioned seemed funny: ruclips.net/video/BwyhTrrLJrg/видео.html
this is their own little game show that they had a couple years back where they play games and just be generally chaotic: ruclips.net/p/PLMykjDwlo96wS-y34DonjLYhq7Sc4U4-3
would absolutely love for you to check out more of their solo work, Chen's three solo albums are breathtaking and I think you'd really enjoy them!
Solo guide next..
you need to check BTOB killing voice 😂😂
D.O premieres on August 2 his next film "The moon" has been sold to 155 countries and is expected to be a great success, is one of those chosen to be nominated for the Oscars...
