Although the new series of fighters (F-35, F-22, etc) are VERY impressive, after having spent MANY hours in and around the F-16 both at Moody AFB, GA, and Osan AB, ROK, it's still one of the most beautiful and impressive aircraft ever built!!! Old, but still very capable!!
I swear, the f35 and the f22 raptor just look amazing. They have this certain style. Like the Corvette ZR1. You can tell it is a badass machine ready to rock and roll.
I was out at Langley AFB the other day during training as they were doing scrambling drills with the F22 raptor ..a mad dash to get a squadron of F22s in the air was amazing ! Getting a bunch of fighter jets in the air in a hurry us a thrill to watch. The pilots are as impressive as the air planes .. I cant fly do to inner ear issues but I could only imagine the adrenalin rush these pilots get when going vertical! It's amazing how this many planes can get in the air in a short amount of time .. God bless America and all keeping us safe !
What kills me is how little he needs to use his tail elevator to put the aircraft on a fast rate of climb. If you fast forward to roughly 4:42 you'll see him hit V-1 and then just as his front gear starts to clear the tarmac he gives the elevator just a brief but significant flick and he''s in a steep climb right as soon as the wheels leave the ground! Most planes don't have the thrust to go into such a steep climb right from takeoff. It's fantastic.
Flew many motors all my career but I always liked how the F-4E looked and sounded. My favorite fighter of the current generation is the F-15E. Night, low level, brings a ton of hurt, and can hassle with the best.
Time from roll out to rotate 15 seconds for the F-35 and 16 seconds for the F-16. A Boeing 737-800 is between 25 and 35 seconds depending on the load. Considering the weight difference between all three I would say that's pretty impressive. Turbine engine and fuel technology has come a long way in the last 30 years.

Really nice to see BOTH the F-16 and F-35! Arguably, the external fuel tanks and armament slow the F-16 down. Yet some argue that to achieve the same range, the F-16 requires the externals in order to match what the F-35 does with all storage being internal. The same argument applies to the missiles.

Enjoyed watching this but there are some other vids on the F-35 which clearly demonstrate how ridiculously powerful its engine is (this isn't exactly a good example of the F-35s "full power" takeoff). Its thrust and climb rate is absurd. Also, I love the F-16 like every1 else but when do you ever see it without 2 giant external fuel tanks on either wing? Outside of Thunderbird airshows, the F-16 is completely dependent on massive external fuel tanks. The slim, trim, and nimble look of the F-16 that everyone loves doesn't really exist in the real world. The F-35 is often criticized for its lack of "aesthetics" but it's designed to carry its fuel and payload internally. Fire up both of their afterburners and you've got a full blown rocket-ship on your hands - these new F35's are clearly more technologically advanced and fit for purpose in the 21st century, but for sheer thrust, noise and boys-own excitement, they're not a patch on the 'real thing'

Of course you won't have much fuel left for that 2- minute sortie before you return to base or refueling!
Pull your head out of your ass and clean the shit out of your ears wake up dummy...
F-104s had one of the highest crash rates of any modern fighter. Ask the Germans what they think of them. They lost many fine pilots.
F104 was built for speed, the f16 was built for mach .6 to 1.6 because %90 of dogfights happened in that range, really no comparison
@@brooksm3552 That's what happens when you use an interceptor as a fighter-bomber
I wonder if it includes any cup holders. I ain't buying anything without plenty of cup holders!
Rack and peanut steering?
that is extra
Unfortunly cup holders are optional as they also come with a urine bag!
Gotta have a usb port for my Smart phone.
@A A Don't forget to plug your radar detector back in after lighting your cigar :)
Read em and weep!!! American technology at it's finest!!! State of the art! The U.S. is always on the cutting edge in the world of avionics and aviaton!
One of each in my hanger, thank you...
ALways loved the F-14
me too. My absolute favorite bird of all time. Grumman, that is all.
@Tom Berry>>>Me too, bro.....
So do Iranians :D
Back in the 80's I worked on 'real' Lightnings - the English Electric Lightning F3's and F6's that we had in the RAF and that were just about at the end of their service. Fire up both of their afterburners and you've got a full blown rocket-ship on your hands - these new F35's are clearly more technologically advanced and fit for purpose in the 21st century, but for sheer thrust, noise and boys-own excitement, they're not a patch on the 'real thing'
agreed!
Thanks! Really cool video :)
Thank you ! Grtz.
Still luv the F16, both are awesome aircraft
I was expecting them to rack the pipes at each other! You know the old stop light throttle blip! ROOOOMBAAAA then the hyper testerone chin point down the road!!!
That F-35 is cool! It's looks like nothing but a flying engine from the rear! Like everything else is an afterthought! And yes I agree for an older lady the F-16 is still sexy!
Just can't beat the looks of an F16
It’s all opinion. I myself like the F-35
The aggressors still use F 5.s if i am not mistaken i could be wrong but to lose an F 5 is quite frankly poor
Two awesome Jets.
Ahhhh gotta love the sound of freedom!
Amazing video, it's a pleasure watching it!👌🙂😆
Still an F14 guy. And an F16 too. Beauty. Cool as hell. Deadly.
When I was in boy scouts we stayed at air Force Base, I got to sit in the cockpit of f16 , f14 tomcat and hold a M16 with 40mm grenade launcher
That's dangerous for a man of Chicago.
Good Jet Fighter Airplane, God Bless All, .... Cherrio.🌠👍👍👍🌠🌟🌠.
I'm somewhat underwhelmed by the F-35 and the F16 still looks beautiful and much more futuristic, IMHO..
Like evrthng abour this plane , among that hydraulic & amortization ...
Everyone note the F-16 is carrying 2xexternal fuel tanks plus 2xpylons with missles not exactly even comparison. I worked on F-16s for 8+ years,I know what they are capable of clean!
now i wanna see fighter jet drag races !!!!
So amazing how the mind comprehends things, for a split sec, I actually smelt the fuel! Am I crazy, no!
AND WHERE'S THE BEFORE BURNER VIDEO ? ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, EXACTLY !
Tsjong... wat de de F-35 ook een lelijk toestel. Ik hoop dat de F-16 ook nog lang blijft vliegen in Nederland!
T39 trainer loud as hell at Sheppard airforce base i got privilege to see two f15s take off twice as loud i saw 12 foot fire come out there ass cool hell u can definitely hear these planes i enjoy working airport i see helicopters all sorts of jet planes i salute us airforce u folks rock.
Nothin' beats an F-22
Snecho yes
4:25 F35 takeoff roll begins in a few sec.
6:03 F16 similar timing. Your welcome
Legend.
Hey! That’s me!
Well you are a disaster then. Can you do us taxpayers a favor and get your 27% full mission capable status up?
This is the best stuff... Period
That vipers got style 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧 from Manchester England 🏴 .
