    I just saw your video, nine months later, and I was glad I clicked on it. I always vacuum the carpet first and just like many others, I add the soap mixture to the tank, well after seeing your video, I put the cleaner in a sprayer and followed your directions. This not only worked, it cut my cleaning time down and my carpet looks great. Thank you for the tips.

    I use a separate sprayer too but I use water and a little Clorox Laundry Sanitizer in the machine. The Clorox product is meant for the rinse cycle of a washing machine so it doesn't need rinsing. It kills bacteria and makes the carpet smell great!

    • @adriancp9957
      @adriancp9957 Год назад +10

      @@giselsilvabecause the sprayer in the vacuum puts down way too much shampoo. It's like dumping a whole bottle of laundry detergent into the washer when you only need a full ounces. Also, using separate sprayer gives the shampoo time to penetrate the carpet before being vacuumed up.

    First things first, let's get all your furniture relocated to a different spot in the house. Next, go ahead and open up those windows to let some fresh air in. After that, grab your vacuum and give your carpet a thorough cleaning on the highest setting. Then, spray on some pre-treat to help loosen up the dirt and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Once that's done, it's time to start cleaning your carpet. Finally, use a fan to help dry out your carpet. Happy cleaning!

      If you're dealing w/ pet issues, like vomit, urine or pooping, the Vacuum Wars guy consulted w/ a professional cleaner as well. Hydrogen Peroxide, the strong solution as a pre spray apparently works way better than any of the stain or odour removers he tried. He was testing w/ coyote urine and it got it all out, sometimes w/ some redo for stubborn spots.

      Hey Belinda! Those are great pads and wont effect the cleaning. For the pet spots I really like using a product called Un-Duz-It unleshed for pet spots. It will breakdown the spot and odor. Depending on how bad the spots are you can sometimes just use this cleaner the same way I mentioned in this vid with a pump up sprayer. Now if you can seem to get the spot or odor out I would suggest trying the method in the linked here. ruclips.net/user/shortsUYEfR8iDHu4?feature=share

    Any other suggestions for alternative pre soaks as the one in the video is out of stock? Ever used vinegar?

    • @priscillanieto3322

      Vinegar can actually be used with warm water in the fresh water tank of your machine, & it brings the ph of the carpet down while also conditioning and helping to flush out excess cleanser.

    Hello, your videos are so much helpful. I'm just wondering if there's an alternative way to clean/disinfect the carpet without a machine? I can't afford buying one and I only use a standard vacuum that they have here where I'm renting now. Thanks and more power to your channel.

    Can I use these tips to clean a carpet that has some pet odor issues? In particular, urine? I was told that I shouldn’t steam clean areas that had residual pet urine in them. Something about the steam acting as a setting agent for the urine. I have spot cleaned the areas with a spray carpet cleaner and sponge, but I have a dog with incontinence issues and I would like to give the carpet a through cleaning to get any spots I have missed or that have build-up.
    If I can’t clean my carpets with soap and steam, do you have any tips for how to clean a carpet with odor issues? Thanks! Love your videos!

      There are enzyme sprays made specifically for pet pee that neutralize urine. They claim to be safe and nontoxic. Worth a look. Maybe look at farm stores, as they use enzyme sprays in chicken coops to neutralize stink, as well as kill mites (mites are also in our homes...) I'm looking into this myself; I have an asthmatic cat and I need to find a way to keep dust mites seriously in check. I'm thinking to use enzyme spray in the pump sprayer at least weekly in the house. Good luck!

    So I'm in a house where the carpet has never been cleaned (To my knowledge at least) since it's never been done and it looks like it is from 15 years ago....should i use some kind of agitator after applying the cleaner or just go over it like 7 times? lol

    Nice job by the way!

    so prespay with prochem. then add prochem solution to my hoover (the wash container side, separate from the water container), and clean with the hoover as normal...or just add water and no wash solution, and basically rinse the carpet with the hoover since I already presprayed

    I have a Hoover SmartWash as well. I noticed in your video that you did not put any of the carpet cleaner (shampoo) in the solution reservoir at the back of the machine. Is this correct?

      Correct! I like to keep just water in my machine. This helps to completely remove all cleaner from the carpet much easier.

      Everything , you explained in the video is good info for a consumer and you did a great job explaining how they can clean carpets a lot of what you showed is how a pro cleans carpet. Ultra pac has a ph of 9.5 and is not a self neutralizing product and will leave residues in the carpet by just rinsing with water is not enough to remove the product.

    • @ClanceyM
      @ClanceyM 2 года назад

      @@jv8493 Is there a better alternative?

    • @jv8493
      @jv8493 Год назад

      Yes , ultra pack needs to be neutralized by an acid rinse to bring the ph of the carpet back down to as close to neutral as possible and remove residues from the ultra pack. By skipping this step the carpet will re-soil rapidly water alone can not bring the ph of ultra pacs 9.5 down to 7 which is neutral. This is why you higher a professional because they have the machines and tools to properly flush the carpet fibers. Certain acids in a home Bissell steam cleaner will damage the tool.
