Everyone thought this was a breakup song (like with a girl) but Suga revealed earlier this year that he actually wrote this song about the group when they were thinking about disbanding in 2018. He said they all cried when he shared the song with them. Tear is my absolute favorite BTS song.
This is the last track on the Love Yourself Tear album; it reminds you of the key message behind this album and the sadness and distress that it wants to portray. The album is all about realizing your love was fake and the heartache it brings to lose something, or someone so dear and I definitely feel that’s portrayed in this track. As a song performed by the rap line of BTS, this song definitely stands out as it is not only a completely new style for them but also shows and an excellent display of their individual styles, while also demonstrating their proficiency and harmony as a team. After it's released, RM went on a vLive and explained to army that ¨ There are two meanings of Tear in English. It could mean to create tears; crying, but also to rip apart. It's from BTS Love Yourself Tour in Fukuoka, Japan at a dome concert that holds between 60K - 80K at the very end of their LY tour that started in 2018. This tour was before BTS Speak Yourself Tour that started around the middle of this year. The first song features the 4 vocalists, second song, the rapline, & third song all BTS 7 members! It's an absolute must see performance!! Their concerts go around 2 1/2 hrs and usually feature around 26 songs.
I first heard this song as a live performance. They. Killed. The. Song. They showed the emotion of the songs lyrics and JHope did the damn thing. He showed so much passion. When he was done with his last verse, I just sat there, looking at the TV, then watched it again. Great reaction! Gonna go see what else I missed.

At the time you reacted to this song its real meaning wasn’t really explained but some months ago the boys released a docu-series where they explained that this music was actually about their disbandment (when a boygroup is over and separate). They went through a lot in the year this song was released and almost disbanded, so this is music is about how they were feeling about it. Thankfully they overcame everything and still together making great music and conquering the world! 😊

I saw this live and can't even begin to explain how amazing it was! The energy and passion that all of BTS put into their performances is truly uniqu'e and amazing. Tear is the outro for their album “Love Yourself: Tear” which is the 2nd album of a series (the first one “Love Yourself: Her” and the last “Love Yourself: Answer”) where they explore the growth of a person exploring themes such as happiness, friendship and love in the first album to heartbreak and sadness in the second and finally the realization and answer in the third that you should love yourself first and that sometimes you just have to let it go. We call all these series “eras” and they have many! The first era was focus on school and teenage dreams! You need to listen to the eras in order to get a full effect.

Watch as everything goes wrong for the members, the "Outro Tear" melody will become dominant including the out of tune piano that was Suga's first love. I know you are new to BTS so haven't delved into the "Wings" short films, but the "Highlight Reel" does provide a good introduction to "Outro Tear". Ultimately you will need to understand the psychology of Jung to understand "Outro Tear" so it is probably too early to deep dive. However, RM's "Persona" and the explanation video to "Persona" will really help you understand a lot of BTS, besides being excellent rap. I don't think Suga and RM have dated, or if they have, they haven't mentioned it. But J-Hope did mention that he once had a girlfriend who left him for another guy. The song depicts different stages of a break up - the rending and tearing of the heart, the tears you shed, and the fear of opening your heart once again only to face the possibility of being hurt once more.

hi i am nk from india, glad u are a bts fan too. regarding reactions to bts there is just so much content to go through for u to react so i suggest doing a bts marathon like other youtubers did pick a day and just watch the whole discography of bts right from 2013 to 2019, then break them into parts and post them. also u Don't need to cut the edges of videos u are reacting to. also increase your mics volume a bit so people can hear u properly, because i could barely hear u on headphones at at full volume also try staying close to the mic (just a suggestion). ps -2!3! is a very important song for bts just search for "purple ocean project BTS" done by army for bts during their live performance @ 3rd muster in Seoul on 2016-11-13.💜
