Thank you so much for making this video. I’ve run for much of my life, ran cross country in high schools, and had the pleasure of running many trails in California during my post-college years. Because of health issues, I haven’t been able to run in about five years. I try to imagine the trails in my mind, and it lifts my spirits. Seeing this video and seeing the runners ahead makes it all the more real for me and is a true encouragement. I’m looking forward to having this on while walking on the treadmill. Thank you!
I'm 74 and won't even try running for 1 hour and 4 minutes. But, I really enjoy walking at a good pace while watching your running videos. They really keep me from being board. Even though these are made for treadmill walking, I don't have a treadmill, but by walking in place I burn a lot of calories and make a lot of steps. Burning calories is what it's all about for me. Thanks for the videos.
Good to know that these running videos are useful not just for treadmills! I always hope that my videos encourage people to do some kind of exercise including walking/running on the spot, rather than just sitting in front of a screen
Still running with your video. And still love it. It's great! I admire those people that helped out along the way. Helping at the gates, making sure you guys are going the right way. Fantastic!!
I am still using your treadmill video. After a couple years, I still love it. There are none better. I look at other videos, but always come back to yours. I enjoy the interaction you occasionally have with the other runners. You guys are all in great shape. Something for me to aspire towards. I hope you do another one like this... Excellent!
I've watched this on a treadmill run twice now, and I love the variety of the terrain. You are quite the uphill runner. I still have to take it in chunks, my goal is to run it all the way through. Thanks for posting!
I walked/ran with you today with my music on. I almost finished, but the power went out with 10 min to go. I was approaching 3 miles at 50min. This inspires me to keep it up.
I am still doing this race on my treadmill. And still enjoy it every time. I like to push myself, and at the same time enjoy watching your interactions with a few of the other runners. And the commentary of the a few of the people who helped from the sidelines. Keep it up. I think you do a great job.
Still running. Of all your videos, I like this one the best. I think it just gives me what I need. I wonder where the other runners came from that are coming at you. I like hearing the comments with you fellow runners.
Top job. For me, this is the best one yet: I find it so much better when there are other runners in front. Really enjoyed jogging on my Bellican rebounder whilst watching this and listening to Led Zep's greatest hits blasting out. Hope you find the time to knock out a couple more like this. Thanks a lot.
Many thanks for your feedback Pete. Glad you enjoyed the race! I'm not sure yet about future videos, but I do try to bear in mind what I learn from comments.
I ran this morning with your video. And it surprises me that I never get tired of it. It always motivates me. I like it best of all of them. Are you planning on running in any more races like this? Everything is great about it. The scenery, the comraderie between the runners is great. Keep going. You are a credit to this work.
Terrific video! Most of the videos I've found have beautiful scenery but the actual runner's pace is too slow. You run much faster than I do but the camera always makes it look a bit slower, thus a PERFECT pace for me. I love it. It's my new treadmill video of choice.
Love all of your running videos, short, long, alone or with other people/races!! Thanks for sharing!! I will be adding this to my "run at home" playlist.
I agree. This is awesome. I just started doing similar videos. I live in California and will post California running videos. What equipment do you shoot with?
Thanks! I wish I'd done a lot more videos like those. There's a few comparable ones at least e.g. the parkrun one, other coastal runs etc. (see playlist on my home page)
Loved your running video. I ran on treadmil and changed the speed and incline where I felt was changing. Love this experience. And definitely you are fit fit person. Thanks for this video
Thumbs up! I might have to try watching this video again when I’m on the treadmill. Just got off the treadmill. Some tall grasss you guys had to run on I’m sure that made it more challenging. Looked like some ankle twisters in there. Looking at your other videos I like the exercise looks like some good inspiration for me. Looks like a Great run.
Thanks - it's a proper multi-terrain race that one, especially with the long grass like you say and mud, stony, steep paths etc. This is probably the video I'm most proud of, not least because somehow the camera stayed nice and level all the way to end. Glad I found your channel by the way :)
Enjoyed running a virtual Waseley Wobbler with you this morning (especially the cow). Perhaps one day I'll travel up from Glastonbury and run the real thing!
I have looked but have yet to find a virtual race as good as this. I really feel like Im in it and as its quite long I find myself wishing for the finish line just s I do in a race. Solo runs are OK but I like the race ones best.
Probably because it was very 'real'. My priority was to do well in the race. Filming it was kind of a whim and I was unsure whether to do it until the last minute. I did check with the organiser that it was ok beforehand
Haha it's amazing to think how many people must run to this and get absorbed in the experience like yourself (hopefully while staying safe on the treadmill!)
I have watched this one race many times now, and continue to find small details I didn't notice before. It is very motivating to me while I am on my treadmill. I am curious to know we're the first and second finishers. David
Amazing to think of people watching this race multiple times. Well not so easy to answer your question but I've got there in the end... The winner was the runner walking 3rd through the gate at 6:58. Second finisher is not visible at that point (I don't think) but you can just spot him at 1:03:55, 3rd from left, behind the two other runners talking. Hope that satisfies your curiosity :)
Have you ever run in the London Marathon? It looks that would be perfect to test stamina, and abilities. You do so well in these runs. Your skill level is really impressive.
It's a while since I did longer distance running - mostly training for sprinting now. To answer your question, I've never run a marathon. Or not an official one. I did once run 30 miles over the hills just to prove to myself that I could do it!
how did you find it on your head, did it weigh it down at all mate, i also race on the trail but am out at the minute just has acl reconstruction and meniscus repair, so i want to vlog my recovery, really love this vid made top job,
Chris PT I'm not ready for that just yet. Just started rebounding and using virtual runs. Found yours and am going to try it out while rebounding and not sat in bed. Although I feel I have lived vicariously through you 😊. Seriously though it really helps. If you film the one in two days I will watch it too 😘
Hi Chris, I just came across from one of your comments at John's Big Crazy outdoor Adventures. I love the idea of trail running even though I am not a runner by myself ( we are more hikers and outdoor loving family). But why I am writing to you - because I had an opportunity to make a documentary about extraordinary trail race, 163 miles over the Texas desert, mountains, canyons, just beautiful nature and extreme challenge. I thought you might like it - I have a trailer for my future movie about this race on my channel. One more unrelated question - your video seems quite stable, even though you are running - do you have some gimbal or steady cam or do you stabilize in post? (I had to solve this problem in my movie as well and used both methods, more or less successfully). Thanks for the video!
Thanks for commenting - by the way your channel looks great and I've just subscribed. That race looks amazing from your trailer. I've visited Texas when I was a kid and would love to go back. I was running with a GoPro on a headstrap. I just use youtube's stabilize edit. (I hear gimbals are quite expensive?) Would like to think I have a reasonably steady running form which helps with the stability of the video
Thank you very much for stopping by and your support, giving back as well;) It doesn't look bad (stabilisation) I mean it is visible but quite OK. Yes gimbals are super expensive - like camera itself. I have one for Gopro (Removu S1) and it cost 270. Steadycams are cheaper but not the best if you want to run with it.

Still running with your video.
And still love it.

Still love it !!!
I know there are other runs I could do, but I love this one.
Thanks so much..
Wow that's great how much you've got out of this race experience, you're welcome
Great job
I actually use your video as a virtual run on the treadmill
Thank you so much for making this video and sharing it
Glad to know it's still useful 👍

Fantastic, fantastic workout!!!!
Still doing your workout, and still love it. Thank you so much.
Excellent video. Loved it, thanks for taking the time.
Still running. Of all your videos, I like this one the best. I think it just gives me what I need. I wonder where the other runners came from that are coming at you. I like hearing the comments with you fellow runners.
Loved being a virtual participant. You’re a great hill/mud racer. Glad you held off blue guy at the finish!
Thanks - it was an epic race especially with the battle against blue guy as you mentioned!
Top job. For me, this is the best one yet: I find it so much better when there are other runners in front. Really enjoyed jogging on my Bellican rebounder whilst watching this and listening to Led Zep's greatest hits blasting out. Hope you find the time to knock out a couple more like this. Thanks a lot.

Thanks so much for letting me know how you found it useful
Thanks for letting me run along with you and pretend to keep up. You’re amazing! Scenery was great. Thanks for sharing your race.
Glad you enjoyed taking part in the race with me!
your heavy breathing made me feel that i am normal after all
Love all of your running videos, short, long, alone or with other people/races!! Thanks for sharing!! I will be adding this to my "run at home" playlist.
Great to hear from people who find the running videos useful/motivating. Many thanks!
I agree. This is awesome. I just started doing similar videos. I live in California and will post California running videos. What equipment do you shoot with?
Just realised you are the man who uploaded the cornwall coastal path run. You are the best. Really engaging.
Thanks! I wish I'd done a lot more videos like those. There's a few comparable ones at least e.g. the parkrun one, other coastal runs etc. (see playlist on my home page)
This is the best!!!! Running in a race with others it had me going on further than other videos I’ve tried!!! Awesome
Thanks for this inspiring video, made the treadmill workout easier.
Great run man. I play this before all my cross country races to get in the zone🤣
That's so awesome to know!
Thanks for the video! To do treadmill was very good! Thanks!
Great! Nice to hear it
Awesome run, perfect workout and race. Nice hills!
Thanks and glad it worked for you
What a beautiful course. I hope I can run that race some day.
Loved your running video. I ran on treadmil and changed the speed and incline where I felt was changing. Love this experience. And definitely you are fit fit person. Thanks for this video
Appreciated your feedback! Especially the bit about matching your speed and incline to the video. Keep running :)
Great video Chris and thanks for posting the splits, ( especially for us Australian folk who are used to km), nice job and good run!
Thanks Roy!
Great video and thanks for uploading. Took some of the tedium out of my treadmill run today. Nowhere near as fast as yourself impressive running!
Brilliant glad you enjoyed 🏃👍
Thank You! Getting me through staying at home lock down.
great vid i don't usually run but i do jumpjacks alot and this was surprisingly easy.

I thought that finish line would never come. I laughed when I saw the cows and I bet you wished you had gone the udder way.
Thanks. Had to grasp the rail with some of the bends.
Haha it's amazing to think how many people must run to this and get absorbed in the experience like yourself (hopefully while staying safe on the treadmill!)
First time walk/jog cross country here. Loved it. BTW I finished last place.. 116. he,he.! I hope you make another video and congrats on 7th place!
Thanks for commenting and keep it up!
So u finished last? Hey nothing but admiration , Good on you 😀
Must have looked at the race results as there were 115 people in the race? Lol. Keep up the training and move up the field for sure!
Nice race, a bit faster than me!
Keep it up!
I have watched this one race many times now, and continue to find small details I didn't notice before. It is very motivating to me while I am on my treadmill. I am curious to know we're the first and second finishers.

Every time I watch this run, I have tried to figure out who the winners were. Now I know.
Thank you.

Thx this helps a lot on a treadmill run
how did you find it on your head, did it weigh it down at all mate, i also race on the trail but am out at the minute just has acl reconstruction and meniscus repair, so i want to vlog my recovery, really love this vid made top job,
It would have added a bit to my weight in general, but I didn't notice it on my head. Good luck with the recovery
Did a four mile today I feel your pain man
Bloody hell im knackered now. Watching this on iPad in bed 😆. 'Tis great vid.
Glad you liked it. This year's race is in 2 days if you fancy it! (Weather looks dire unfortunately)
Chris PT I'm not ready for that just yet. Just started rebounding and using virtual runs. Found yours and am going to try it out while rebounding and not sat in bed. Although I feel I have lived vicariously through you 😊. Seriously though it really helps. If you film the one in two days I will watch it too 😘
Always nice to read how my virtual runs have helped people. Keep up the training! I won't be running in two days - though I'll be there as a marshal
Chris PT 😊
It looked a warm day and yet those cows were friesan.
What are you using to stabilize the cam? I have a gopro hero 5 and would love to make similar videos and share.
I was using youtube's stabilize function but they've removed it now unfortunately - see my video about it from a few weeks ago
It looks really nice course to run! Thanks for sharing. Did you run as holding your camera with one of you hand?
On a head strap - see ruclips.net/video/opoF8lC9iHA/видео.html
Thanks!
That's some human power
Waseley Hills ❤️
How much do they run? I’m in 6th grade and I already run almost 5 miles .-.
Hi Chris, I just came across from one of your comments at John's Big Crazy outdoor Adventures. Thanks for the tips on gear - I'm really on a budget at the moment but good to be aware of all options.
Is your camera high?
See ruclips.net/video/opoF8lC9iHA/видео.html (about 30 seconds into video)
My 4 th time to watch this and I think course markers should be fired as Mr trump would say.
This is my school field 😂
I saw (and run)only 30 minutes at the moment... what the hell is happening to you? 😢😤😤😬😅😆
Tomorrow the final part 😉
Haha do you mean that I was slowing down? I actually got some kind of stitch/cramp.... But then I recovered quite well for later in the race
I can barely run a single mile on sub 8 min pace☹️
