The most comfy way of driving over speed bumps is with company car. I never slowed down as a delivery driver.
Or a rental
That'll be why everything you delivered was broken. 😆
@@roberthiggins6401 Try brake a pizza or a salad
Me too. I fly in my company Ford transit over speed humps. Very fun. :)
Humps, come to the Netherlands and you will know what a speed hump is. These are a joke.
Not all speed humps are the to same as these in UK don't be misled.
Ah what you people talking over here, you got to see the speed breakers or "mini towers" in india.
The only reason for that is because the Dutch all ride bicycles, and on a bicycle you definitely know about it when you encounter a speed bump as some cheap ones don't have suspension.
I think the "speed bumps smooth out at speed" myth has more to do with weight transfer of the vehicle than just speed. If you're accelerating before a speed bump that takes weight off the front end of the car and shifts it rearward which can make running over a bump actually feel smoother. I'd be curious to see this test done with that in mind and also as done here but with something like a Ford Raptor.
You're lucky...speed humps in the US are usually speed bumps...think half of a log from a big old tree. I can't even imagine going over one at 60mph. I'd be worried it'd break something important in the car like, you know, the whole car.
I leave the ground doing just 25 in my neighborhood.
Driving over too many speed bumps too frequently over a long period of time will also wear out the suspension prematurely. Potholes and speed bumps are the worst enemies of a vehicle's suspension system.
@@petersmith2040 pretty sure potholes are way worse cause lots of potholes are unpredictables. Also, there are potholes on the highway.
speed humps vs speed bumps next!
That's no speed bump, c'mon... 😅
Whoever slows down over speed humps, they will be flying over them after watching this
I think you didn't understand what this video told you.
At 5:00 "the most comfortable way to go over speed bumps is to approach them as slowly as possible".
In the VW Golf he didn't mention the tiny increase in force from 45-60mph but you can tell he had to hide his surprise when that result popped up. If you are going to go fast you might as well do 60 instead of 45. Doesn't quite fit the message the program was trying to send!
15mph - 1.12
30mph - 2.29
45mph - 3.49
60mph - 3.59
You can drive speed humps? (Look at title)
“If David Cameron wins the next election”... holy cow that’s aged so very badly.
The Xantia did pretty well but should not have bottomed out. Maybe check the condition of the spheres (and if they are the correct type)? Anyway, Try it in a Citroën DS and your meter wont register any bump at all. Back to the Xantia; I wonder why no journalist ever have mentioned BOTH that the Xantia is more comfortable than a luxury car AND at the same time the faster than McLaren in the corners. I think there should be a little more of a major newsflash when a cheap eco-box is better handling than a supercar while beating the most expensive at comfort. People who buy an SUV and expect comfortable suspension must be morons. Smart people that want comfort buy a Citroën, end of story.
A Xantia is better at handling than a McLaren?🤔🤣🤣🤣
@@gavinwyllie7855 yes, indeed. Hidropnematic citroën suspension is the best one out there. Since the Ds 60 years ago
@@gavinwyllie7855 Xantia Activa. Google the Elk test.
unfortunately not even Citroën is producing Cars with the Hydropneumatic anymore
@@Craftlngo you mean nobody?, man, that's shame
Yall just taking old videos and re-uploading them, but its ok, Top Gear is practically dead, so just watching the other option.
You call this speed hump..!? In my country they literally disintegrate your car..!!?
It is not about how comfortable you will feel yourself on speed humps. It is about the reason why speed hump is there. Think about it and do not hurry to make problems for you or someone around.
no
Terrible design. Flashing lights get my attention better than anything and i believe that a cop should have have to catch speeders fair and square..
.
WHOM WANTS TO SEE THE SAME TEST WITH A 2021 MERCEDES BENZ S CLASS 🙋♂️🙋♀️🙋♂️🙋♀️🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♀️🙋♂️🧏♂️🙋♂️🧏♂️🙋♂️
So this is where hoovies cheap 400$ Porsche went
This show went from car testing to doing anything BUT car testing. They need to get rid of that woman she is as charismatic and interesting as a fucking door stop.
Why do UK cars have white front plates?
Because yes
@@SpareSomeChange8080 Righto. Doesn't seem to have caught on in the rest of the world. Maybe that cars have big red plastic things on the back and not the front may have something to do with that? I appreciate what you're implying but anyone who can't tell the front of a car from the back should probably use a white cane and a guide dog when out in traffic... In saying that tho the UK is the only place I know in the civilised western world where one can park a car facing the wrong way on the wrong side of the road blocking a whole lane of an already way too narrow road so every little bit helps I suppose...
At kouke, in turku Finland, they built speedhumps so bad there was array of mufflers scattered around the sides of the road for the next two weeks before they smoothened it a bit.
damn, in Montreal with my pontiac vibe I go 40 kph on speed bumps without any problem. Actually some roads are so trash than the speed bumps are way smoother than the potholes. Potholes make me slowdown at 15-20 kph sometimes.
i love finland :)
in my city, roads are so demolished, the speed bumps are often easier to ride than the rest
I'd rather these than a camera, but there's no money in that.
Kept thinking old mate was wearing sunglasses 😄
Well i have a 2006 vw polo, i aproach speed bumps at 30mph and its comfortable and dosent seem to damage the car. Ive had the car 5 years and its fine.
All the screws and bolts and springs loosening.Speed bumps only favour people that speed. And will speed over speed bumps because they are happy to pay for repair for their cars.😊
In India we call it Speed Bumps or Speed Breakers.. Trust me.. I slow down to 0 kmph over the Speed Breakers then also my car get hit the same as striking every part in the car with a hammer.
Speed Breakers are designed to reduce speed of vehicle to save people's lives but in India People have died because of it.
In India most the roads are f'd up. The central government barely funds maintenance. Explains why they employ swiss engineers to design overlook and construct the roads. In India pretty much most the roads are destroyed. It's not only dangerous due to chaotic mayhem. The roads are full of potholes. I guess the govt consider them speed breakers too 😂
@@rayc1503 I m not talking about the highways.. In UK u call motor ways.. I m talking about cities and specially those locations like schools and hospitals. I believe u never driven on Indian express ways..
This is why you buy the fattest tires on earth.😂
