Jake, this is a great in-depth look at the M16®-13FX! Nice visual on the different carry options with the sheath. With this M16® reissue, we're honoring Kit the best way we know how. We appreciate you taking the time to review, thank you.
This knife is my edc and I love it! I do think of it as more of a fighting knife. It feels so strong in your hand that you want to jam it through car metal. Lol
Showing the carry methods, how well it concealed, and whether it was comfortable was really helpful. Wish more fixed blade reviews would take that stuff into account
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU, for that review!!!!! Been trying to know exactly how the belt clips were intended to work and you showed me. Also I learned more about my new knife, thanks much!
Great overview of this specific knife. Thanks ! It really helped with the carry methods. I am going to be using the j-hook right in the front, at a hard diagonal . I find this to be the best way to conceal it nearly 100%
I agree with Jake when he says a spear can be very valuable in a survival situation, but keep in mind that if you have a knife, you can always make more spears. If your knife is your spear...and you lose it, then you have nothing. Sharpen a branch, and harden the tip in the fire. Keep your knife safe. Its the best chance you have.
Just got this for Christmas!! I couldn’t figure out the sheath attachments as they included the wrong knife instructions in the box! This is great! Not sure if I’ll use the J hook or the DOT system… love the versatility! I meant to have the folding version on my list and messed up but super happy with it regardless! I’ve been an avid CKRT fan for almost 20yrs! Thank you for your video! New Sub!
I really like this knife and was looking to get one, but after watching this it seems a bit smaller than i thought. Ill have to think on it a bit more, thanks for the video.
I absolutely luv my new 2022 M16-04DB. Great presentation. I absolutely luv the History you gave us on Master SGT. Kit Carson; that was very cool. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
I just ordered this knife, but was curious. Does the dot system come with it, or was it separate? As far as I've seen CRKT doesn't mention one way or the other on the website. And the only one they show in pictures is the j-hook style.
It's too bad they don't offer a non -serrated version of this, i like a lot of their knife designs but as good as the veff serrations are i prefer a non-serrated edge, otherwise i would probably get a lot more of their knives! nice review!
Generally I agree, I prefer a plain edge. For this blade in particular, it's a fairly beefy blade with a relatively thick edge. I think the veff serrations actually add a lot to it. You would struggle a bit cutting anything fibrous with it. I'd like to see another version with a thinner blade stock, good sheath design, and a plain edge I think. -Jake
I see that. Huh. Let me check with CRKT on this, it might just be a typo. There is some variation in SK-5, but my understanding is that it is non-stainless and is comparable to 1080 or 1090 high carbon steel. -Jake

Also the DOT system does come with the knife and the belt j-hook. First knife from CRKT and am impressed this far!

Hold on their website says is stainless steel with powder coating

I have confirmed that it IS SK5 and that it is non-stainless high-carbon steel. -Jake
Que tal es la retencion del filo ?

I thought it is stainless steel
SK-5 is a high carbon non-stainless steel. You can think of it as like Chinese 1080 carbon steel.
