As a dad, I honestly don't understand how it would be so easy to separate yourself from your "Father". I would never ban my son from my house because he slept with a woman outside of marriage. I certainly wouldn't require bloodshed for him to be forgiven for this.
Yes, but you should be telling him the truth in a loving way, and for those who are dangerous and trying to rebel, you warn them that they have a choice to make... to choose to serve God, or to serve mortal sin and expose this household to opening doors to demons.
Ok, when he said you will die of starvation because you never opened your gift at baptism it got me thinking. Does this starvation lead to a search to be filled with excess food, tv, internet alcohol and drugs, sex etc?

Surely my father Jesus is more humble than his brothers. Surely my family Abraham and Sarah cares more for me than the house of Joseph and Blessed Mary. Surely Paul father in Christ teach me more than I have learned from Catholic church. I don't have a son nor a brother nor a sister. However I do have a wife and daughters that I gave to my father Jesus in baptism. And if I can make 1000 babies for my father Jesus it will be my pleasure. And Remember I don't want to trample the brothers and sisters of Jesus. But if you need help let me know. By the way my father Jesus appeared to me on a dream touched my shoulder gently and said: "Remember the last words before I went to heaven"
