This is ridiculous to be able to reach that kind of quality content. I basically learned Da Vinci from zero in a week or something just with your channel. Thank you sooo much!
casey you are aweome! I am a musician and only want to edit video for my shows. I don't want a ton a DiVinci knowledge but your easy tutorials REALLY Help! Thank you!
Casey you are awesome! I am a musician and only want to edit video from my shows. I don't want a ton a DiVinci knowledge but your easy and stick to the point tutorials REALLY Help! I don't want to spend all my time video editing so just show me a quick fix to something and I keep my life moving. You do that for me! Thank you!
Thanks Casey. I've been using resolve for nearly two years now, and I still get stuff from these most basic tutorials. I still feel more comfortable in Ae than in Fusion, but my editing is definitely getting better than that in Pr.
Love all the color related content you post! Tried to do color grading on my vlog last week, and some people noticed! Thanks to you fab tutorials! Who knows maybe I 'll have the courage to try out the fusion page next time! Need to learn transitions...
The last 10 seconds of this made me laugh so hard 😂This is the first video of yours that I've ever watched and I might actually have to go watch the general colour video now.
what a great technique, just wanted some red light on the subjects' faces for a bit and it doesn't even look that good, but it gets the point across which is exactly what i was looking for!!
I appreciate your help, but just so you know, we viewers understand lighting. What we DON'T understand, because we've never used this program, is how to even open the window that has the four color circles. It's navigation of the controls that we can't figure out. If you simply told me how to open that window, I know how to do lighting. Thanks.
Glad you decided to not track it, because unless she has a follow spot operator in the library there- natural light wouldn't move with the character . Maybe that would be good for a singer on a stage.
Thanks Casey! I've been trying to made the switch from Premiere to Resolve and this idea was very helpful. Also, I have a question from another fellow creator: what do you use for screen recording? I´m looking for the best option out there.
This was really useful, thanks, this is just the issue I have with some footage. I noticed you used something called ‘tracking’. My issue is that in my clip I’m moving, much more than this woman. I’d love to see a video where you combine this technique with tracking, if you can. Thanks again for your help.
Hey Casey, thanks for making these wonderful quick tips videos! I noticed you use Windows for Resolve, I do to, but I noticed it is a bit more laggy on Windows than on my (less powerful) MacBook Pro. Can you make a video on how to tweak Resolve for Windows, what kind of hardware is better? For example, I have a Ryzen 3900X processor, 32 Gb of fast RAM and Radeon VII with 12Gb GDDR5 - Resolve should FLY on that hardware, but it doesn't :) Should I have purchased Nvidia? My footage is mostly GoPro 7 Black, 2.7K 60fps or 4K 30fps. Thanks for all you do!
@@johnberrydemoreel thanks for reply! I since upgraded to Nvidia RTX 2080 super and no lag now. I do use proxies and Radeon VII video card was the source for the lag, even with proxies. I'm guessing, Resolve is just optimized for NVIDIA.
Yeah...euh, No. It looks really bad. Do the light on location. Tweaking after is okay, but adding lights after in post to make up for it, it's really bad man.

Dude, your use of zooming in to show what you're clicking makes you the no.1 best instructor for DaVinci Resolve.
Thanks!

Your videos are the best!
Awesome
great and clear tutorial, thank you
Glad you liked it!
Can you do this to photo editing in davinci as well?
Could you by any chance make a video on how to change the background without a green screen?
Loved it thank for sharing
Brilliant. Thank you.
Nice 👍 lil tip 😁🙏🏾
What if you have a subject that is moving?
Cannot find that little button to turn off overlay on free version 17 and in overall it deletes that part. Any help?
It sure is helpful as about all your vids
What if the camera is moving so we need to move the mask?
Man this is so cool ! thanks for that awsome tip \o/ Thumbs up
May I ask, would editing In 24 frames per second uses less CPU resources then a 30 frames per second? I just purchase a used MacBook Pro off of eBay!
Yes it will be easier to edit 24p
Casey Faris thank you sir!!
Why does my entire shot go yellow, not just the bubble? The pen marks I made are not isolating the area
I do to !!
me preparing to watch this video: Oh this is gunna be hard
Cheers mate
Thanks for all you do sir... :)
My pleasure!
Your reslove is studio version?

Its basically the same workflow as my phone screen video from tuesday. That has tracking. Check it out!
Here it is: ruclips.net/video/C-ZqDlO4czc/видео.html
Casey Faris Thanks, Matey, I’ll be sure to watch and learn. All the best.
C O O.L .

I don't understand why you use a new node and don't make every modifications on the main node
Look at my color grading basics tut, it explains more. The "Watch this first" one

You should look into proxies and transcoding. You never want to edit with raw 4K, especially at 60 FPS

Your cinfuguration is very sifferent from mine
Great video. How would I make my face turn red, as in rage? The idea is to be humorous, not to be perfect.
Id probably just push the midtones toward pinkish orange...
Bro how come i can’t find you on imstagram ?
I just... never got into it??
Casey Faris it would also be a larger way to promote the channel, i think
Great tutorial with excellent results but this is not a basic tutorial and you talk waaaaay too fast.
Haha yellow woman

Too complicated.
This is so informative! Thank you!
