    WWI began in July of 1914, I don't know what months this movie was made in.
    Even if WWI had already begun, these people have no idea what it will entail. Probably none of these people had ever ridden on an airplane. Sailing ships were still being used to ship cargo profitably. The great influenza had not yet happened.
    Hitler was just a mere corporal & a message runner. Probably none of these people had ever even heard of communism. None of them could tell anything about what Karl Marx taught.
    If only a few things had gone differently @ this time, what a different world we'd have today.

    • @WaterShowsProd
      @WaterShowsProd 3 месяца назад

      This film was released on 2 March, 1914. It was before the war, and even before the shooting of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Communism wasn't unknown at that time, the term had been in use since the mid-nineteenth Century, but they wouldn't have heard of Lenin, and Marxist-Leninist Communism wouldn't have existed yet. Have you ever read Stephen Fry's novel Making History? It's about someonewho tampers with time and prevents Hitler from ever having been born. It's very interesting. Of course, it still supposes that World War I happened just as it did, as his absence woudn't have had any effect on that.

      Yes, l love these old films too. It seemed like, even though things were rougher around the edges back then, it was also a simpler time, and a very quaint and impressionable world. There were far fewer answers than today about all the little things in the world, which therefore made it a more mysterious and interesting. Definitely more romance back then too. Today there's much more cs without love. Films and music back then was definitely better than today's. I was born way too late

    • @YorkyOne
      @YorkyOne 4 года назад +1

      This is 1914, well before Hitler came to power, so not ideology. The swastika has been used for thousands of years as a symbol of good fortune - there was a fad for it in the early 20C. Coca Cola even produced a swastika pendant with their logo in the centre. The board reads 'Good Scene' so the swastikas are reinforcing the message. Then along came the Nazis and debased its meaning.
