- In this video I walk you thorough two of my worst interviewing experiences I have ever had. The fact is, interviewing for a programming job can be brutal and we all have our stories. In this video I wanted to share two of my worst experiences in hopes to help you feel better about any interviewing horror stories you may have of your own.
If you feel like you got some value out of this video, please drop a like! It really helps the channel :)

Once I got my rejection email before the “thank you for applying” email. That was lit
I think so far you win the "worst interview experience" award lol
Sorry, Chaim. I couldn’t watch your video because I don’t have SQL installed.
Haha nice!
i just recently got rejected in last round of my technical interview and youtube brought this video in suggestions... i feel better now and motivated. Thanks man! i will continue working hard and improve myself
Wow some fascinating stories, I'm glad I come across your channel, Chaim. Your channel and videos in general are insanely invaluable and at times I find myself in a different world when watching your tutorials, I know it sounds crazy but I feel like you have been my lecturer for decades man, all I wanted to say is thank you soooooooooooooooooo much for your time and content, very much appreciated :)
Greeting from IRAN
I thought I accidently increased the playback speed lol :)
Haha nope it’s all me
I needed this video
I remember my first interview it was in Java core and I was trying to switch my experience from PHP to Java. I lasted only 5 minutes and the guy stopped the interview and said you must study more. LOL that was savage. Now I aced several interviews and feel very confident with java core interview.
Ouch! That is savage indeed!
Thanks Chaim. This really encourages me when I am having a tough time looking for a new job.
I have one year of experience now and I learned a lot because the company is a very early stage start-up and I wear many hats. I do frontend+backend+database+deployment. But when I am looking for new jobs these days, I just feel like I don't know how good I should be to meet their requirements. What type of engineers do they want.
But anyways, really appreciate your videos. I not only learned a lot but also got motivated a lot from your videos. Keep up the good work! And hope I can land a job soon!
Wishing you the best of luck in your search! Let me know when you land your dream job!
@@CodingWithChaim Thank you Chaim. Yes I will share that happiness with you for sure!
@@CodingWithChaim Hey Chaim, I am back. You know what? I have landed my new job as a full stack engineer! This is the start of my career and I am very excited. Actually I joined the company last week and I already addressed two tickets (very simple ones though). I am here to thank you for all your videos and inspiration. They really helped me a lot. Wish you and your video viewers all the best! I will keep learning from you!
Thanks for this Chaim!
May I know how old were you when you got your first job?
I love this channel!
Hey thanks! I was 26 when I got my first job.
I cannot tell how much I got motivated by the video. I am a developer with 1-year of experience in Italy. Then, I moved back to Poland. Since then I got rejected last 2 years (maybe there is a covid effect too). However, I wake up at 5:30 PM in the morning and dive into coding before I start my casual work every day. And sometimes I feel alone in this challenge. Thank you Chaim. you make us people like me that 'we are not alone and we won't give up.
Really happy to hear that this video helped you!
Your videos are interesting. Can you make some videos on Hooks: specially focusing on theory and principles?
Will look into it
guy, you're the best teacher ever!
Love stuff 🙂. Brother Kindly share the assignment task with us.
Ok I’ll try to share the link today when I get a chance
Recently got rejected after a 3 question week long coding interview. I feel I did fairly well answering all questions on gist with live links. The interviewer replied saying "sorry, but please provide feedback on the interview process" . I took a couple of minutes to do just that... I then ask for feedback in return, as to why I was rejected.... crickets...🦗🦗🦗
I'm still looking for a junior full stack position, one of my interviews was remote and live, there was technical questions and I answered them while beign watched. I have 2 screens and when I was talking I looked at the video stream at the other screen. after few days I recieved a rejection email suggesting that I copied my solution from another source
that sucks! I know this may not make you feel much better, but you did dodge a bullet!
אתה המתכנת והמרצה הכי טוב שפגשתי מזה הרבה זמן ביוטיוב ובמהלך התואר חחח
Thank you! I appreciate that
There are times when during a lab interview I got filtered from 40odd candidates to final 2 and I was the one rejected!
Bummer that sucks! Sorry to hear that
Can't believe you actually sent back that reply asking to be compensated for the cancelled interview 🤣.
Were you being snarky or serious?
Haha at the time I was actually being serious
I very recently started my first non-freelancing programming job and the opportunity only came because I was first contracting for the owner. I've never had any success at software companies and more often than not the only stories you hear are the nonsense devs go through trying to even find a job
There is certainly some truth to this, but I will say that I’ve had some pleasant interviews as well. There is no denying however that as an industry we we can do better with the interviewing process
@@CodingWithChaim Very true. I've taken to applying for jobs based on employee reviews on sites like glassdoor and linkedin. Some you can tell right away head hunted walmart upper management for hr and logistics while others look for merit and a short learning curve and have really happy coders
So many trolls and scammers out there
Ive caught some bad Ls, i could throw up thinking about it. But its the journey.
Exactly! Part of the journey! Could not have said it better myself
Nice video jitter effect
How dare you declare types and use the . ts extension in typescript?? That's sacrilege!
I know right..... I should just quit and be a farmer!
