The Wisconsin is a great engine ..My Uncle had one that size a 12 H.P. ?..he said it came off of a generator that ran those big spotlights ..It was cool to see this one running !!!
I was using my 1944 pe-77D with a briggs model I this weekend to run my hedge trimmer because its a slow running generator and quiet I may be getting the larger ZZ powered model soon. I like the wisconsin engine wish I had one on a generator!
Interesting, any idea what it was meant to power? Signal corp could have seen it used for a variety of things 1944 nice probably never left the states but still, a war item, very cool. That Wisconsin nameplate probably was in red... only warnings and important items get to be red on military stuff, so paint fixed that! Sweet runner, nice find.
nice little generator got the military spark plug / cover it works well .injecting water in to a running engine there is chance of Hydraulicing it that would blow more than the carbon off the piston a shot of red x or brake fluid would work better nice little piece of kit mike
Hi I’m in the uk and have a briggs and stratton model 8fb type number 702549 can you give me an idea of value? As want to swell it picked it up from France.
Oh those good old Wisconsin Air Cooled engines. Now that, was an engine meant to work all day. Mike , is that model about 6.5 HP thereabouts ? Pity it's only 600 watts, but it is what it is, and like you said,.it's in fine condition. Nice, really nice !
You got it they are probably my top pick for quality small air cooled engines!I have herd of guys putting 1000w on these gens, but I will stick with name plate rating! At 1800 rpm the engine probably only makes about 2.5 hp.
SmallEngineMechanic What a shame these folks had to give up making these for public use. I was a dealer for these here in Canada. I knew that when I sold one of these, no matter what the model, that there would be no worries about them breaking down any time soon. These engine were made to work all day, every day. Just give them maintenance as required, and they would prove their worth and value.
Very nice, this guy Ed Stoller in CT has a bunch of these old Onans, he even has a twin cylinder model, its pretty awesome... Here is his website...... enginesandmagnets.com/

Military Equipment is always GOOD stuff... They always have reliable stuff to use.. Good Video. Thanks for sharing..

Wisconsin made on heck of a motor. Seems each one I come across on youtube impresses me more. That engine looks like a stroker from the front!
Very nice unit. I had a Wisconsin AKN on a go cart many years ago, and it was a great engine.
+Wyowanderer777 Thanks for watching! The are one of my favorite engines...

Hi Mike
That is a nice pice of kit you got.
Thanks for checking it out.
what is the bulb shaped thing sticking out of the head it appears to have a hose going to the exhaust. great video
That's the spark plug with what I think is an all weather cover on it.
cool little unit I love military equipment.
Thanks for watching chuck!
Like your cart brakes. Is that a Faraday cage on your spark plug?
Thanks, got to go with what works! It is actually, to suppress the emf generated by the ignition pulse.
It seems pretty quiet. At only 1800 RPM, I wonder how long it would run on a full tank?
That would be an interesting test. Probably a couple hours...
Cool unit, it's in nice shape!
Thanks for watching!
