Hi everyone! Today I want to share my transcription of the "Prelude" from Sonata No. 5 composed by Silvius Leopold Weiss. Weiss was a contemporary of the great J.S. Bach, and he is known as the most famous lutenist of the baroque era. As a composer he left a great body of work nearing a thousand pieces.
Originally this piece was notated as a lute tablature, without time signature and bar lines - this hints on improvisational character of music, inviting a performer to think in terms of phrases unrestricted by the beat and interpret the tempo freely.
I’ve always loved the light and dreamy mood of this piece and sincerely hope that you’ll enjoy it too :)
Thank you for watching and I’ll see you soon!
A sweetest melody
This one is really lovely
Thank you, Holland!
It’s a crime your uploads don’t have more views. Your playing is wonderful.
Thank you. It used to be a bit better, but I had to stop playing for two years to undergo treatment for my left hand injury (three surgeries, endless rehabilitation, still haven't completely recovered from that) and this pause pretty much destroyed my channel's exposure. RUclips algorithms are weird and if you don't upload frequently and not chasing trends constantly then it stops showing your new videos even to your own subscribers. Sad part is to do anything creative and on a high level you need time and freedom to explore and experiment and these are exactly the things that RUclips algorithms will punish you for.
@@DariaSemikina You will recover completly and improve even more! I'm confident about it. This sounds amazing! About the algorithim, I guess I'm just gonna need to share your stuff a lot more. Don't give up! Your stuff is amazing! :)
