H/H match update: ... Today's action: There wasn't a single "tow truck" to be found on the whole panel, which spelled trouble for our champion who needed four to tie the tie-breaker. And so she departs after winning two games and $1,200. Today's audience match question: "Switch________ " (My thoughts: Blade, -eroo, -ed at birth) The celebs: Richard (Blade), Joyce (Hitter), "Chuck" (-eroo) The choice: Blade The answers: Hitter, Off, Blade A modicum of suspense as I wait to hear who our new champion will choose for the head-to-head. I imagine he'll make the traditional choice... He goes with Richard. This is now his eighth straight time chosen for the H/H question, and he's matched two of them so far. In fact, he's on a bit of a cold streak, having missed the last four questions in a row. Going back a little further, Richard has matched 11 of his 34 most recent attempts (32.4%). Today's H/H question: "Father of _______ " (I'll say "the bride." What else is there? "Father of Mine"? "Father of our country" I suppose might be a good answer considering it's still the bicentennial.) Richard quickly finds inspiration and writes his answer. The camera cuts to our new champion who is nodding as if happy with his answer. "The bride," he says. Since that was my answer, I have to say it's a good one! The audience chimes in with an enthusiastic reaction. Cut to Richard, and his blank expression tells me that he's broken his losing streak with a match today! Yes, indeed! "The Bride" Richard scores his 210th H/H match today. (And Richard and Brett trade places on the leader board yet again!) Here's our updated leader board showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy: (Note: An asterisk before a celebrity's name signifies that she has "retired" from the show and her H/H stats are now complete.) (Note: For tied scores, I consider the one with the greater number of matches to be higher; if the matches are equal, the celeb who first achieved that score goes on top.) Orson Bean - 100% (4 wins in 4 attempts). Gary Burghoff - 83.3% (5 wins in 6 attempts). TIE: (*)Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). Charles - 51.7% (31 wins in 60 attempts). TIE: Betty - 50.0% (18 wins in 36 attempts). TIE: Fannie - 50.0% (13 wins in 26 attempts). Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts). Richard - 41.0% (210 wins in 512 attempts). Brett - 40.9% (27 wins in 66 attempts). Bert Convy - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 837, excluding the lost/missing/damaged episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325, and 645. (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!")
Nipsey Russell's Joe Namath joke is probably the funniest thing that's been said on the show so far. It's rare that I literally "laugh out loud". I don't know if he recycled a lot of his material but all of his rhyming jokes are also pretty consistently funny.
That joke was definitely funny, and it was the first time he told it on Match Game. His joke yesterday, about a doctor being able to tell a woman to take her clothes off and then sending the bill to her husband was funny too, but that one I recall him having told on an earlier MG appearance.
I know that Mary was a little eccentric and nutty, but she's actually one of my favorite contestants. She's just so sweet and filled with happiness.
I agree. Mary was adorable... beautiful eyes!

I like Jeff, I'm glad he won and all the way. Yay!
Love Gene Rayburn's accents! Irish accent this time, but they're all FABULOUS! 😁👍
Nipseys had a great, quick wit and talent
Nipsey Russell's Joe Namath joke is probably the funniest thing that's been said on the show so far. It's rare that I literally "laugh out loud".

Nipsey was great. Certainly better than the hag ... I mean Brett.
That joke was definitely funny, and it was the first time he told it on Match Game. His joke yesterday, about a doctor being able to tell a woman to take her clothes off and then sending the bill to her husband was funny too, but that one I recall him having told on an earlier MG appearance.
How could you not like Mary? Cute, sweet, affectionate and reminds me a little of Goldie Hawn. Oh, she's a twit? Well....
Thanks so much for all of the uploads!!
MARY was what we used to call a real DINGBAT back in the day.
Truman Capote. Where is Edith
She's better than most of today's girls.
Yea but she was a cute "ding bat"😜
Yep...
Goldie Hawn
I was thinking more ding-dong or ding-a-ling, but yeah, definitely in the ding family.
The stereotypical (recently ex-) navy man haircut and beard of the later 1970s. Yup.
YAY JEFF 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Mary a true Blonde ... Looks like Goldy Hawn
I actually found rooting pulling for Mary
(and I matched Charles on "switcaroo")
Mary has announced she’s running for president as a Democrat in 2020.
She just might help make them seem more intelligent...
She's a far better human being than the asshat who's in the White House now.
I love Brett's jacket, and color is great.
Charles dancing at 16:19 😆
Did Patty play to help the contestants or just try to be different?
She wanted to be the odd one.
She matched more often than being credited for, and usually in a funny way. Patti was great!
She wanted to be horribly different
She plays to help the contestants
wal shucks I wanted Mary to stay for a day or 2
Bye bye Mary, 😪
I would love to know what Mary is doing in #2018
And 2022!
And 2023!
And 2024!
I was hoping Maggie would ask Richard, “what did you do with your English accent?”
What month did Richard Dawson die 2012?rip Richard Dawson very good actor on hogan heroes look nice and sweet
June 2, 2012
Richard? Sweet? That's a joke.

Mary Watson is a poor man's Elaine Joyce.....ditzy
Mary was such a sweetheart! awwww

and as cute as HELL!!!!.......
A little to starved for attention
Maggie Smith?! Wasn't she also in the Harry Potter films, among other things?? 😂
yep.......
and Downton Abbey
I immediately thought of Doctor Who, but I was wrong. It's Sarah Jane Smith.
Was Maggie a guy. She\he was HOMELY!!
I don't generally say someone is homely, because I'M not pretty, but MY WORD!
I would have taken her homely with me.
No kisses for Richard and hugs for Gene.
I noticed that to. Could it be that they were behaving because Dr. Joyce was there?
ROFL! Love ya Patti! ;0)
If fertilizer is good for plants, why wouldn't it be good for human faces? Dogs roll in it, don't they?
human feces!
Has anyone seen the episode that Betty is talking about at the end of the video at 2:50?
ruclips.net/video/bEZkCnTKGW4/видео.html
Mary is getting irritating!
This is where the Match Game hit an all time low when bad breath doesn't match body odor.
I think the two are just a liittttle bit different
