Unbelievable. We visited Punda Maria last year, and we left a day earlier due to unfriendly staff, a filthy camp, and undriveable gravel roads in the area. Will definitely not visit Punda Maria again.

I'm so sorry to hear of your bad experience.
I spent time in Punda Maria,Letaba,Satara, Shingwedzi, Tsendze, Skukuza, Berg en Dal and Crocodile bridge and I honestly can tell you that the staff were very friendly and helpful out of all the people I meet there was only one lady at Crocodile bridge that was not friendly. I did not like camping in Skukuza
When I was at these camps everything was neat and clean the ablution blocks were cleaned during the day
The first few kilometers on the S66 when traveling from Punda Maria are very badly corrugated and I agree that this part of the road is most probably the worst road in the KNP and will not recommend going on this road with a normal sedan or camper.
The game viewing is good around Punda Maria and I will visit this camp again.
