Love your videos. I believe Fran won this challenge. Everyone in the family and business is awesome. I love your videos and I have many of your books. Keep up the great work
This was a difficult dicision to make because both of your quilts are very beautiful! ! Ist challenge I pick Donna's Gentle Morning it is so beautiful and something magical about it. ! 2nd challenge is a tie for me the both quilts were super nice and the 3rd challenge I pick Fran's Autumn Garden is really stunning and beautiful. Wow !! Love all the quilts!!
I love watching ALL your videos. I have learned much. But I wish after you show us the gorgeous quilts, you would show us the backing as well. I still have alot to learn in quilting and would love to see what you do! 😇
I loved Donna’s butterfly challenge. Would love to have seen the pieces and parts for Fran’s as well. The second challenge (red) was a draw in my opinion. Fran wins the third challenge for me. Just beautiful! Thanks ladies. Great challenge.
I think Fran won all rounds! Honestly, if you could do pieces and parts more often, it really helps to see how the fabric would look in the quilt patterns!
I think Donna won the first challenge, Fran won the second challenge, and Fran won the third challenge. Loved the fabric that contrasts the most. All are beautiful 😍.
I am getting ready to do a batik quilt, so this was so fun to watch! My favorites for 1 & 3 were Fran. I really love her style. Number 2 I liked Donna's bold choices. Also #3 Donna's was a very close second.
1st one - Fran, 2nd one Fran when I saw the red batik I thought navy or black contrast, 3rd one - I loved Donna’s choice of the pattern and the #3 fabric
For the #1 challenge, I pick Fran but I’m partial to that dark aqua and purple! For #2 challenge , I pick Fran again. For #3 I think I call a tie on this one. I could not choose one over the other. They are both beautiful. Interesting that the fabric that you were given, both of you chose to use it in the #2 fabric spot. Thanks to the both of you for sharing from your storehouse of information. Amazing color challenges! And yes, we are the winner! Thanks!
A tie for # 1 challenge, both just gorgeous 😍! #2 goes to Donna, and #3 goes to Fran. Beautiful job ladies, I really enjoy these challenges and love all the discussion about how and why the fabric choices work with a particular pattern. Have a great week 🥰 and thanks again!
Batiks are my absolute favorite quilting fabrics. I love all the patterns. My choices for favorites here are #1 - Donna, #2 and #3 Fran. You two are awesome. Another great video!
The focal fabrics are beautiful! My picks would be: #1 Gentle Morning, #2 Jewels, and #3 Autumn Garden. Beautiful fabrics make beautiful quilts. You gals certainly did a great job!!! Enjoyed watching your video!!
Ok, this was difficult as batik is my favorite so anything goes. HOWEVER, I think Fran stole the show. I would make all 6 quilts without thinking twice though. The pieces and parts really help me, thank you both for great ideas.
Loved all the batiks and kits. Great choices. I have loved watching your challenges for the last 12 months or so and bought 5 downloadable patterns. Two nights ago I laid them out on my table and challenged myself to find suitable sets from my stash. Wow!! It was harder than usual. I kept second guessing myself and swapping ( I felt like Donna was watching over my shoulder checking on me) lol. Did well and only need to buy 1 fabric. Last night I started with "stepping stones" and cut and pieced all the blocks. Tonight I will sew rows together. So quick and easy doing strip assemblies for the first time. Great work Donna and Fran.💛🇦🇺
I love Batiks, so reversible & vibrant. I like the ones with the least white. I understand contrast, but white, to me cheapens a quilt. I love Jewel tones & deep rich saturation. You both did a lovely job of choosing the matchup & I like the deepest ones best without choosing a favorite. Thank You!
Love those colors that are used in the It's A Snap shown with three light aqua greenish blue fabrics! And the ones Fran used in the first challenge fabric she did. How do I find the names or collection they are from as yardage cuts?
Not sure exactly which you would like, but you can find the focus fabric from Fran's "Butterfly Breeze" on our website here - www.fabriccafe.com/searchresults.asp?Search=*8021832&Submit= - the other two fabrics that are used are Robert Kaufman Aviva Caribbean and Robert Kaufman Twilight Snowfall. Hope that helps!
Hi Donna and Fran. I have to say I love the Byzantine door pattern but will do with fat quarters. That is the first thing that came to mind when I saw it tonight. Love your work ladies. I made it’s a snap for my great niece this past summer in the Elizabeth line.
I love batiks! All of the quilts are winners IMHO. Gentle Morning and Autumn Garden really spoke to me; I love both of them. As another viewer mentioned, I wonder if it’s because you showed pieces and parts for them?? Ladies, thank you for sharing these wonderful videos.
I liked #1Donna, #2 Donna, and #3 Frans, and I'm not a greens person. But I really loved them all and thanks so much for your books and the show. I really want to try Frans fat quarters pattern.
I loved two of Donna's color choices, and loved Fran's choice of colors on the last one. Loved the Diamond Dust pattern and the Byzantine Door Patterns also. This video was very helpful on color and contrast choices. Thanks so much!
I think Donna is right, we all are winners! I loved Fran's choices and Donna's choices. And I loved learning more about how to make batiks pop. It isn't always the fabric choice, sometimes it's the pattern choice. That's why I enjoy these challenges, I get a different perspective on choices. I always appreciate your presentations.
First-Donna, Second-Fran, Third-Tie. Actually all the fabric coordinations were beautiful and you both chose great patterns as well! Y’all make it difficult to choose! Congratulations for the idea, Hannah! When are you going to make another quilt?
I love Batiks so am having a hard time choosing my favorite. I guess in the end I will choose Frans last quilt. The pieces and parts really help with the batiks as the batiks seem to have the color “smushed” together and it is harder for me to visualize without the pieces and parts.
I prefer more contrast but they were all pretty. I purchased my first 3 yard quilt kit last month and I will be starting to make it soon. Loved this video!
Loved All of them !! Your ideas, explanations, and patterns are wonderful!! You are absolutely right , They can be inexpensive 3 yard cuts, we also have them in our stash but I’ve gotten so used to buying pre-cuts….. I have some of your books, thank you for the reminder, you both have inspired me ,I’m feeling creative !!!! 🥰🥰
Love this….I am so happy to see how very versatile these patterns can be. I have yet to venture out and make a quilt, but I think I’ve spent at least 100 hours watching video tutorials to gain the confidence to sit down and JUST DO IT! I’m going to ask Santa for one or two of your books….I’ve been good enough to score at least a couple!
I love this batik challenge! My votes are for all of them, but I did have I do have some favorites. The 1st one goes to Donna and the Gentle Morning. Number 2 goes to Fran for Love & Country and number 3 also goes to Fran for Autumn Garden. Thanks for the fun 🙂
I would say tie on the first two, but Fran on the third. I'm curious...does Fran have a background in color? Like an art degree? She's very good with them and certainly understands how they work. Great video!
No art degree, except maybe by years of practice. She is very instinctually when it colors to color. I encourage everyone to jump in and try it. You will only get better with practice! Thanks for watching! Donna
Fran on all three, all were beautiful.
So hard to choose. I love them all so much. 💓
Fran, Donna, Fran❣

You're not the only one who would like to see the backing fabric, we'll make an attempt to feature it more. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
I liked Donna's choices for the butterfly batik.
Hard to say who won but have to say Donna is the leader today. I have all your books but the newest one. I’m asking Santa for that one

Ok good video I liked Frans Batik kit and pattern choice
Donna won the first challenge and Fran won the last two challenges. I love 💕 all of the fabrics. Great job.

That last quilt by Fran was gorgeous! Can’t stop thinking about it.
Autumn Garden.
Love batiks and all your choices were beautiful, however, Fran takes the 1st & 3rd rounds & Donna takes # 2! Thank you ladies!
For the #1 challenge, I pick Fran but I’m partial to that dark aqua and purple! For #2 challenge , I pick Fran again. For #3 I think I call a tie on this one. I could not choose one over the other. I love Fran’s green and gold best. I think my dear friend would love this. Thanks Fran. They’re all beautiful.

I love Donna's Autumn Garden Gorgeous When I tried to order some African fabric from you, Your site sent me to esty
Hi Kathie, what fabric were you trying to order? We do have a store on Etsy as well.

3. Fran
Donna won number 1 and Fran won 2 and 3
tough to chose--wish every set of fabrics was shown as was Donnas first
Can you use Batiks with regular cotton in a quilt or does it have to be all batiks?
You can mix and match! We do that a lot with our quilts without any issue 🥰
1. Fran
Hello , Fabric Cafe.
Frans quilt.
It's a tie for this challenge.
