It's best to just start with one type of food in case they have a reaction and you're giving them a lot of mixed foods you won't know what specifically they are having a reaction too.

Hey girl! not sure if you already do this but you can also add a little of the oat or rice cereal(oat is more nutritious) to their bottle especially at night to barely thicken their formula just a tiny bit and it will also help them stay full longer. So cute watching Luke dig into them sweet tators! 😍

You can mix the purée with the rice and it makes it easier or them to eat it

It’s probably best to discuss with your pediatrician first. I’m not saying I don’t believe they’re ready for solids, as they’re right in the range. But your pediatrician can give you the green light and give you some tips. Keep in mind that with preemie babies, you should use an adjusted age. They seem to be doing very well though! You are great parents 😊

I just wanna let you know that I highly recommend starting off with individual foods to start for the boys and do that for 3 to 4 days and then start a new one bc sometimes they developed a rash or something else to food and you know which food you feed them so you know which ones not to feed them!!!!!

Babies weaning onto solids is honestly the cutest and exciting. When my son was 6 weeks old I had to add a small amount of the baby rice in his last bottle because the formula wasn't enough for him. He loved his food. Still does at 14 years old.... I love your family. You and Josh are doing a wonderful job raising those boys. 💜💜

My tips just from experience. Try veggies before fruit and only do 1 at a time in case of an allergic reaction

  • @brookesnyder1729
    @brookesnyder1729 5 лет назад

Hi momma we just started our solid journey 3 weeks ago since we have a sitter already. Our 4 month old showed a lot of interest. She would grab food from our plate or reach for anything we ate. The best thing is to have the same food for three days in a row then take one day off to give time for a reaction if there is any. If you combine different foods and babe has a reaction the doctors have a hard time knowing what base is allergic to. You are doing great 💗
Also our little is going on 5 month now so she started at 4 month. But she hit all of her milestones super early so the pediatrician actually asked that we start introducing as soon as she started reaching for our food! And remember when starting to stick to a tablespoon two at most a day is what is study approved

  • @thebookplace679

Omg Luke was so cute diving for the spoon! Idk if this was said in previous comments but you actually want to feed them the bottle first! Their main nutrition for the first year comes from formula/breast milk. So you don’t want them getting too full on solid food and not taking in as many nutrients from the formula. Also, it’s possible to stretch a baby’s tummy with formula. You might try to just feed solids 30 mins after formula and keep using pack and distract them to try to stretch them longer until the next feeding! I hope all of this helps.

  • @baileylorton8705

You’re doing such a good job as parents! Be careful with introducing more than one item at a time. If they were to be allergic to something it is easier to pinpoint what exactly they are allergic to that way! 😊

Hey girl! Babies are looking so cute. I used to work at a daycare and what I would do for my extra hungry babies was mix some of the oatmeal you got with some formula and then 1/4 or even 1/2 of the warm sweet potato depending on how hungry they might be ! It makes their tummies a little fuller! It’s slightly heavier and might keep them more content and needing less bottles throughout the day! Good luck :)

You guys are doing a great job. Try placing towels on the sides of them to support them sitting up straight better, it will be much easier for them to eat! My little one is very small for her age and her feeding specialist recommended we support her by placing dish towels rolled up all around her so there isn't extra space in the seat for her to slide around. Keep up the good work!

Don’t know if you know this already girly. But, since the babies are teething you can also buy them some orajel it’s basically baby medicine you put around there gums and it helps them take the pain away or as well baby tibolone as well but that mainly only for the night or for nap times and it helps them sleep and takes the pain away. It’s very helpful we use either or on my little niece since she’s been teething and it helps her a lot ❤️ by the way love your videos you guys are amazing ☺️💙💙💙💜

hi sophie! i’m a teen mom as well so i have some experience. i found mixing rice cereal and formula was best since they are still transitioning. like another commenter said, mixing it into their bottles will help tremendously when getting them full before bed. also as someone else said try one food and wait i believe it’s four days just incase of allergic reaction! you’re a good momma goodluck (:

Mothers guess is best.. your right babys start eating within 4-5 monthes. You should definitely introduce foods as you are and you can even give him some of the baby juice mixed with water of course after eating. And then their next cry can be milk. Not telling what to do just a few pointers and I wanted to reach out and help. As a young mother you are doing great especially being a momma of twins! Your doing great girl! You can most definitely reach out to me for any questions or help with anything! Xoxo

How much do you feed them in a feeding? They could be going through a growth spurt. They are also getting bigger so probably need an increase in formula per feeding. I started my baby at 4 months. I didn’t do the cereal as it’s pretty empty calories. I started purées. You guys are great parents! As for napping so short. My daughter would only take half hour naps till about 10 months old. It was really hard but it’ll pass. Babies go through a lot. Check the wonder weeks app too. They have leaps they might be going through as well. Also food is not to replace formula. I would definitely talk to you pediatrician and I don’t think they would recommend feeding the solids before the formula.

To help identify if they have any allergies to any of the foods you start them on, stick with one at a time for a week. Like if you start them on rice cereal, keep them on rice for a week. And if they are teething, try to avoid acidic foods, like high acidic fruits.
