- Giving out free vapes in A&E helped to double the number of people that quit smoking cigarettes, a trial has found. The research, by the University of East Anglia, found that by giving smokers an e-cigarette starter pack, which included a vape and a referral to stop smoking services, they were almost twice as likely to successfully quit after six months. Around a quarter of the 24 million people that attend an NHS emergency department each year are smokers. So, in light of this trial should the NHS provide fee vapes to help smokers quit or is this irresponsible?

40 a day, stopped and switched to vape. Find I'm only puffing a few times. Not craving, making transition much easier. Reckon, not long before I stop altogether.
What kind of vape did this young man use? I feel quite confident that he used a dodgy Chinese disposable or liquid from a dodgy source.
Peanuts - just dont do it...not even once... you could have an allergic reaction like me and nearly die, ban peanuts!
Yeah 30g malboro should be free on the nhs aswell
The problem is now you see all these teenagers & people in their 20's vaping & they have never even smoked cigarettes. It's become a whole needless separate problem on to its own. I have never smoked in my life so I can't comment on the addiction but if you're going to recommend vapes or hand them out for free, they should be the nicotine & chemical free ones.
Why should non smokers pay for people who chose to smoke to quit?
Because ultimately tax payers will pay more for the health effects of long-term cigarette users. It's actually cheaper overall to invest in preventative care like nicotine patches and vapes because they do not result in nearly the same kind of lung damage.
Are you new to how socialised medicine works?
@@AM2K2I understand entirely, you need to look it up
Why should childless people subsidise those with children?
It's called community.
Why do people with no children have to subsidise those with children?
It's called community.

Vapes are worse than cigarettes, watching children puffing on those things is a horrific sight and the parents condone it!
No. Nicotine inhalers should be and that’s it
I thought the NHS don't approve of them.........
