The distance from Nanning to Beijing is 2,500 kilometers, and with this train that has a maximum speed of only 160 km/h, it would still take nearly 24 hours if there’s no bad weather! I once took this type of train for 9 hours and couldn’t stand it-since then, I’ve never taken it again. And you even bought the most basic hard seat ticket, which costs 268.5 RMB. (By the way, those without seats pay the same price as you; you just bought it earlier than they did.) I’m Chinese, and the first time I took this type of train was to go to university, and students get a discount on it. If you’re a student, the ticket price for this train would be 134.25 RMB.
