This certification is not to get a job but to make you stand out from other people Doing this certification means you have good understanding of AWS and you have proof for that Does not guarantee job
Whenever you work on cloud you will be working on remote machine and accessing EC2 or other server that are linux, having knowledge of basic linux command will help

It is definitely useless. HR recruiters will not hire you, just because you passed the test (unless you know someone who works at the company).

Pick either the development track or the system admin track (It can be AWS or Azure), and learn as much as you can in that field. The company will need only one Solutions Architect and they want him to have really deep knowledge and experience. But as a developer or system admin, you can walk in with Entry Level. Most of the videos about AWS Associate certifications are commercial and they want to sell their products.
