I somehow got this show on my "recommended" list several months ago, saw all the episodes...in order, and am on my second go around. Fran is beautiful, and I will imagine she remains so as she ages gracefully someday into her 70s and 80s. And I have to say that I appreciate this show for being funny but not the brutal type of humor that many comedies have fallen into. Several minorities in this show, and they do get hit with zingers, but you can see that these actors all love this show in their performances.

In reality the marriage broke down because her ex had become a controlling freak because he was closeted, he did not come out well after the divorce. Plus they had an ugly divorce and an extended communication breakdown until Fran's agent called to tell him she had cancer. Since then both of them have reconciled and are best of friends. They have written and produced Happily Divorced together. It is a shame that TVland executives are foolish that they did not renew the show for 6 seasons atleast.
I still love this show at 2021 I miss it I do wish that it was still on let's hope that it does come back on and the nanny still love that show at 2021 I still wish the nanny was still on can not wait for when it comes back on 😃

Sorry, this was one of the worst endings they could have imagined! This seems totally out of character for Fran. Just saying she can't be with someone who's "prejudiced" didn't face the deeper issue. Even if they didn't stay together, I think Fran's character would have literally pushed Richard back into the bar to talk to his son and repair both relationships in the process. The actual ending let the writers off the hook for the sole purpose of leaving the Fran/Peter relationship intact. This episode ended as it began: Fran and Peter still together, Richard's son still brokenhearted over his dad's refusal to love and accept him, and Richard himself still a lonely, financially-wealthy/morally-bankrupt man ...and both men without family! The message to young people was very disappointing at best and, very harmful at worst!

Fran proved she was unable to accept his feelings on a subject though he had no problem with accepting her feelings. So which one was intolerant? Now you know why the show was canceled. It was due to intolerance. On Frans part.

I think that was a real impulsive decision. Forgiving people takes a while especially when your hurt. Men are not like women he raised that boy to be a man and he probably feels cheated, hurt, ashamed n all messed up inside. The son probably feels the same way so there's a division between them. She could've been the one to help heal the wounds i think she gave up too easy.
sirpoppinchuck It’s not her job to fix him if he can’t see how devastating and disgusting it is to disown his own son who lost his mother just because of who he loves then that’s his issue. There’s no changing his mind set at the end of the day people don’t change unless they want to change and he made it perfectly clear he didn’t want to change. He refused to even be in the same room as his son that’s beyond Fran.

They both are beautiful and look much younger! But it's insulting to have them as friends from high school. It's not uncommon for adults to have friends that are 10 years older or younger.

@@manuelenrique9220 someone said that tichina arnold was 50, which google said she is currently. And fran is 62 currently. I even thought to add that the show is older! The age difference is still there though, and they still look great too

I hardly ever post comments under youtube clips... and I LOVE Fran! But... I can see why she's annoyed with her date/fist love, whatever, for being prejudiced... but instead of simply judging him, she (the character in the series, I mean) could have tried to explain/work/change his attitude towards his son. The Richard character looks like quite a good guy, one who's capable of changing his point of view. Pointing fingers, merely rubbing the fault of his ways in his nose, and dumping him for that without even trying to persuade him, for his sake, for his son's, for Peter's... and for her own... Far too righteous!

How? He literally refused to be in the same room with his son and basically said he disowned his son and cut all contact for 3 years. That man deserves to be judged his son lost his mom and then he goes and cuts him off because of who his son loves is immoral. His son lost 2 parents instead of one. There’s nothing he can say that will justify the trauma he caused his son to endure by losing both of his parents at time when he needed them both.

I left my card and an open tab with a friend for a few minutes while I went to pick up her friend down the street at another bar.. she bought people drinks while I was gone.. later that night they hugged me and thanked me as they were leaving ..I didn't know why they were thanking me ...until I got the tab.

I’m loving this show, however, I’m slightly upset hey didn’t attempt to reconcile Richard and his son. It feels like they just homosexuality as more of a gimmick.
