Agreed. Amazing value. Reason I’m upgrading to 14 CE to get as many expansions as possible to go with my Maschine and KK S61. Here’s the deal. I’m no Mozart, but the NI hardware and software help me to create my musical ideas. 🎧🎷
I’m no Mozart myself, and even if I sample vinyl a lot I always look inside the expansions for drums or extra fill sounds/fx or use one of their synths. It’s all about getting those ideas down!
Honestly, Maschine expansions are amazing as hell. I have a nice handful of them and I love that you can also grab the WAV files from them to toss into other devices such as the Digitakt, SP-404, etc.
And maybe a quick question where your advise would help with my decision. I know you're using monitors but if you had to pick a headphone, which would be your go to option for your use: DT770 or m50x?
I use both equally. I guess this comes down to personal preference, but I prefer DT770 because they feels better to wear. My older sons have these headphones, and I’ve tried the m50 a couple of times.. but nah.
NI recycles drums way too much. How many times do we need basic 808 kicks and snares with different EQ'ing and/or effects? Honestly, I very rarely use their drums or sounds.
I have a lot of expansion, but rarely reflects on how many sounds that might be recycled.. and for each pack I guess they pick sounds that fits even if they need to recycle. I’m sure it’s not just NI doing this..

I have no experience with MPC expansion, but NI expansions are packed with stuff.. even tho I don’t use most of the stuff 😬

@@BoombapArt It's not - everyone's drum kits are everyone else's. But, for $49 I expect more original content at least in terms of sounds.
