3:30 when freezing cheese grate it first, it will crumble after its frozen
My dad taught me the same thing. Funny story though. He called me once (when I was married to my first wife) and asked if we liked Tunafish. I said that my wife did. Little did I know that Kroger in Toledo had it on sale $0.19/can when it was usually $1.09. They were marketing the whole tuna noodle casserole thing.) The next time he came to visit he had two brown grocery bags of cans of tuna fish. I think it was like 40 cans, enough to last 20 years. Lol.
I am a young mom, learning to shop like this! ❤ one day I’ll be crushing it! 😝
You’re already crushing it by learning sooner than later! 🙌
Your Rocking it already!!!
Hey @joybethphillips5437, you're doing an incredible job as a young mom and learning to shop wisely! It's inspiring to see moms like you taking charge and finding ways to make life work 🤩
Keep trucking Joy!
This is how I shopped for many a moon. When the family all lived at home, people did not believe me when they heard what I spent. I'm now 74, hubby has passed and my sister lives with me. We do even better because we do lighter meals most of the time. I still buy and stock my freezer and pantry. We usually only get to a store maybe once a month for major stuff and maybe once a month for bread and milk. I've just found your channel through Dawn. The one thing I did do way back when was only buy when food was on sale. I knew almost to the day when something went on sale, I stocked up and it would last until the next time it went on sale. I don't think I ever paid full price for my staples etc. It can be done and is well worth the effort.
That Italian sausage deal?! Wow!! I personally used to buy bulk, coupon everything and watch sales cycles but since the kids moved out and we travel fulltime in a little camper now, I've had to change things up. Now I cook fresh often for saving and health, freeze what I can fit in my tiny freezer, shop clearance and chase Aldi's when we're near one combined with Dollar Tree and Dollar General and supplement with clearance canned food. We save a ton, eat only two meals a day, live frugally and have lost weight!😊
I was taught to shop sales and stock up. And I learned clearance shopping from you. I showed my husband clearance shopping at Smith's and if he is ever there by himself he checks the clearances. I love having a lower grocery bill so we can spend that money in more fun ways.
Clearance shopping at Smith's can pay off BIG!!
Totally agree. I tell my family that when I save us money on groceries, we can save and invest more in experiences!
The “when you buy 5 or more” isn’t limited to just one item. So you can buy 5 different things as long as they’re all part of the “buy 5” promo. So if you didn’t need 5 bags of tortillas, you can find something else in the promo to make the 5.
I love Fred Meyer and their sales and markdowns! It’s where we buy cheese when it’s 1.49/pack and that sale rotates constantly!
I don't have any of those stores anywhere near me ")
Right! I guess she's got a lot of mouths to feed, but WOW, I'd never go through that many of the 5x items.
I was wondering if she was actually doing the "Buy 5 or more, Save $1 each" deal on those or using a digital coupon that can be used up to 5 times. On the digital coupons, I tend to get the full 5 if it is a really great deal. On the other type, I definitely mix and match. I used to think you HAD to buy 5, and was so relieved when I finally realized you just needed at least 5 participating items. Game changer!
Yes! This is likely the explanation for the dollar coming off of the sausage and eggs. Always fun to combine the clearance with this sale.
@@daveslomski9612 Looks like the tortillas were only 10-count...so not that many total. I have a similar number of mouths to feed and we could probably blow through a bag or two of those in one meal.
When you are at Costco, ask the clothing workers what tables are the "clearance" tables for men and women. When the quantity of an item gets low, that item gets moved to a certain table. If items do not sell well, they go to that table so we can get rid of them. Some days you will luck up and find really great deals on clothing if you keep checking those tables.
I found a winter coat on a Costco clearance table last month for $2!!!
@wendibollinger7647 And here I thought I scored with the thriftshop down coat for $30! I have always bought used, usually under $5 for a coat. My other coat is now over 5 years old and showing wear, cheapest I found was this new looking down coat for the $30. Thought it was a great deal until I saw you bought a winter coat for only $2 and it was new! Oh, well, congratulations on your $2 coat. I think I might be jealous! 😊
Brings me back to when Dad used to get whatever meat he could on clearance or with coupons at a normal grocery store. But he'd also buy large chunks of meat at Cash and Carry, now I think its named the Chef Store, then cut them into steaks, roasts ect and wrap them in freezer paper. Saved a lot that way. I actually got myself a $40 brisket that came to $3/lb just a couple weeks ago and cut it into pieces for tacos, Korean BBQ, American BBQ, Brisket Chili, Brisket Ragu.... Check out your local restaurant supply stores.. . Get dish soap by the gallon or a pack of fifty rolls of tp or a whole huge stack of paper plates without needing to buy a membership =P
My family's Broccoli Slaw: One bag of b-slaw, a bunch of dried cranberries, a bunch of sliced almonds, Marzetti's Slaw Dressing to taste. WE LOVE IT!
Thank you!
I’ve always shopped this way. Funniest one ever-Target had big boxes of tampons for 99¢. I was still in school and with my mom and sister we definitely needed them. Bought 30 boxes!!
😂😂😂😂😂
We had a grocery store going out of business and I bought so many feminine products because of the low price. It took me like 2 years to go through them but it wasn't like I wasn't going to need them.
@@shytowngrl 😂😂😂😂😂
What a deal! Tampons!!!
When I first moved out on my own, pasta was ~.75$ a box. And they had coupons out for 1$ off two. Got as many of those coupons as I could. Had around 40 boxes of it, which sounds crazy, but I could add a can of mixed veg from aldi and feed two for the entire day for less than a dollar.
I'm in NS, Canada so Sobeys is my go-to store. The employees have gotten use to my "clearance scans" and joke that I'm there to clean the store for them. Just yesterday the organic GF bread was on sale for $1.99 so I picked up 4 loaves for myself and then tracked down a stranger in the store because I had earlier, overheard him talking about celiac-friendly shopping being too expensive. He bought 6 loaves for his family.
That was such a nice thing to do. I love helping out others like that, and also loved it when someone once did the same for me!
You are the only budget friendly videos that are actually realistic and have true low prices. So often these kind of videos are not showing good deals at all imo. 😂 Thanks for all the tips i can actually use!
I support 2 food pantries. Today I found 2 beat-up boxes of brownie mix, .43 cents a piece, 1 slightly dented can of rotel like tomatoes .31 cents. Nothing I needed but I was glad I could provide for the community food pantry 2:17
One thing I've done for years is: when hamburger goes on sale, I buy a lot and cook it up with chopped onions. No seasonings. Freeze it in quart bags. Takes less space than uncooked meat, thaws quickly for fast meals, like spaghetti and Mexican pizzas, etc.
Sniffing the berries is my best tip to finding strawberries that taste good! 😂
I live in UK, but ever since I saw one of your videos (years ago) I started buying yellow labels food (the discounted food). And it made so much difference in my budget. It also completely changed the way I cook. I even meal plan now. So huge thanks to you, girlfriend!
Due to physician's advice because of health concerns, I started eating a whole foods plant based diet in January. This is basically vegan without any junk food, so legumes, veggies, fruits, whole grains, nuts and seeds. And it has drastically cut my grocery bill week to week. We're a family of 3 in VT, and we're getting away with a weekly grocery bill of around 150, so 600 a month? It was around 250 before, so we cut our monthly budget 400. I'm certainly not advocating this for everybody: we're not ethical vegans so I'm not trying to convert people here lol, but I can say it's helped us a lot and I'm reversing my metabolic syndrome, as well as keeping us very full and with a lot of energy. I have always shopped with coupons, sales and clearance items, and I've always shopped the pantry and utilized leftovers for recipes, cooking as much from scratch as possible. My mom taught me those skills and they are well worth doing week to week. Anyway, the TLDR is it wasn't as hard as it seemed like it was going to be, and it lets us save for our goals instead of it all going to be food.
Girl I love this! I shop at the local Kroger, yesterday I got eggs for .30 cents a dozen!! I was so excited, I forgot the bread. Went back this afternoon and I got 11 packages of protein, for about $3.30 a pack!Sweet!! 🎉❤❤
Woohoo!
Thank you for this video. My husband's school just canceled part of his scholarship last week. He has one more year left and we are determine to not pull from our long-term savings. Our budget is super tight and I need to get our groceries down by $100 per month 😬 Definitely trying these tips!
I told my kids we were only going shopping once in June unless we needed something small! And we did! We have only gone once and we went on a Saturday morning to krogers and there were so many deals on meat we didn't even go out of town! We have stir fry kits at my store and those go on clearance a lot! And I love them so it helps! And you can freeze them and they work great! I have a whole stir fry in our freezer right now just waiting on my boys to come home!
The Month of May I only cooked from my fridge , freezer and pantry excpept for a bellpepper and carrot I needed for saurkraut. It was a nice challenge. I figure if the monthly Budget for my area is $198 per person , then I saved that much just by eating what I already bought!
I used to do that a lot too, the stir fry kits are such a bargain on clearance. I'd go through the produce section and glance at expiration dates and stock levels and go back the day or 2 before they expire, knowing full well they would mark them down and snatch them up and freeze them. I do the veggie trays a lot too, it gets you a variety when you might need only a small number of various ones and buying a whole seperate pack of cherry tomatoes, sugar snap peas, celery, mini peppers etc adds up more if you cant use it all up but still want a variety. I'd get whatever juice or lemonade that was marked down for my kid because he'd go through so much. I'd probably still do it if I had a car but I no longer drive so its harder to keep up on the clearance items but I grab what I can. Recently got chorizo instead of brats for $1.29 and got 3 packs for the cost of one pack of brats so it doesn't hurt to be flexible and check clearance.
I like when I can find reduced price meats at aldi. Since their prices are already so low, if you get them at 50% off it’s amazing! I stocked up on chicken thighs the last time we were there, I got 4 packs and all of them were 50% off!
I shopped like this when we had kids at home. It saved us alot of money over time! Now that there's just 2 of us, I tend to shop on a budget bi-weekly and I set aside so much of that budget for deals or stock up pantry items. We generally spend $120 every 2 weeks and I set aside $30 for extra bargains, specials or pantry " stock up" items. If I am fortunate and stay under budget, we will treat ourself to eating out one meal.
Thanks for the Awesome Video!❤
I'm 60 and I will tell you you have taught me the best tips on saving money. I just explained to my sister about shopping the perimeter of the store. Thank you.
Trader joes doesnt do clearance bc they donate to food banks ❤ i dont even know where there IS a trader joes but our food pantry gives TJ thangzz!
I literally go to Aldi weekly and only buy things with a 50% off sticker now! I even get amazing deals on meats and get them half off as well! Our grocery bill has never been lower and our food reserve has never been higher! Thank you for teaching me your ways!!!!
I almost never see anything with a reduced price sticker at Aldi. How do you know when to go for the deals?
I usually go in the morning or early afternoon. Some days I get really lucky and get a ton of stuff, and other days I walk out with two items.
Buy my nuts and artisan cheeses at Aldi only. Nutsbare so healthy but they have become soo expensive.only Aldi is affordable for nuts!
For Fred Meyer / Kroger you don't have to buy 5 of the same item most of the time. There's usually a list of various items and you can mix and match the 5 items.
I lost my Dad and I’m no contact with my mom. I really needed this. Thank you so much. Subscribing ❤️
When you called your family’s response “too much gobbledygook” I about fell off the bed laughing
I shop this way and it really saves you money in the end. My problem is I have ran out of freezer space for all of the meat I buy on sale. Lol. I need to do a freezer clean out like you do!
i've been burned a few times with clearance meat that smelled funny and I just trew in the garbage, so no thanks ! In montreal (canada),we have a law for product that dont scan the listed price. If it's under 10$, it's free. if it's over 10$, they adjust the price and reduce 10$ of that amount. Of course there are exceptions and the free item only apply to one product if you bought more. But still, it's a pretty good law that protect us from shop not doing their job !
You'll never have an emergencheese! Love it! 🤣🤣 "Not up in here!" 😂😂
I’m with you - I never buy pizza rolls but I found the large bags of 90 pizza rolls at Fred Meyer on clearance for $2! I couldn’t believe it and my kids were so excited. Love your videos! ❤
Breakfast for dinner is the BEST...especially when you're fresh out of ideas when meal planning. What do you want on Thursday? How about breakfast for dinner? YES!
Would love to see your take on this for vegetarians!
I shop weekly at frys. Often those "buy 5 save $1 on each" doesn't have to be 5 of that exact item. Generally there are more items under that sale. For example: cereals. Don't have to be that 1 cereal under Post brand. Can be 1 of each post cereal. Still get the deal.
Fred Meyer is also “mix and match” for many items. I open a reusable bag in my cart to make certain I get 5 of the qualifying items
Yes I found that makes more sense for my family
Yes I wanted to tell Christine that our Kroger is mix and match too- buy 5 save $1.00 on each item! Love shopping there…just saved $99 dollars plus got gas points
That’s how it is a Bakers here in Nebraska
Meijer does the same deal with the same rules. You can mix and match the buy 5 save $5.
In my grocery store in Quebec they put all the clearance stuff in carts at the front of the store. All they have in the clearance carts are the stuff no one buys. So first of all you have to dig through the carts just to find there is absolutely nothing you need or want. Our store sucks.
I’ve bought clearance for a long time. But in a prior video you mentioned to ask a store employee where the clearance items are put. I did and now it’s a huge game changer.nice gotten so many deals.
Yes, you can freeze hard cheese, but just be ready for it to be crumbly upon thawing, and not easy to slice. I still do it, but use it differently upon thawing.
Oh my those deals are unheard of here in Australia... 2 pounds of cheapest cheese here is $14 and never goes on sale and lowest quality 1kg ground beef is $12! I always shop the clearance and marked down to save $...also team nectarine here 🙌
I love that you pronounce Tillamook correctly 🎉
You’ve definitely wised me up on shopping for specials. I only buy things when they are half price - detergent, coffee pods, olive oil, toiletries (and buy 2 or more of them). I buy generic brand sugar, flour, foil, food wrap, serviettes. I really enjoy your food haul vlogs, comparing/converting prices into Aussie 🇦🇺dollhairs! 😊
I've always used coupons, but now I've learned to do digital coupons! This Grandma has game....LOL LOL My husband has learned to check the sale shelves and he's always so happy when he finds things we use marked WAY down. You are very inspiring and I'm trying to use your tips. Thank you!!
Always remember only get what you truly eat. Otherwise it just sits.
None of my nearby grocery stores have clearance sections, not even Walmart. If you want to find deals, you have to literally hunt down every freaking aisle. Thankfully, we do have a local Grocery Outlet that I follow on Facebook and they always post the mornings of big markdowns, especially in the meat/dairy department. I've gotten some amazing deals that way.
First question? Do you have a generator to keep your freezer frozen in case of an electric outage???? All that wonderful food would be ZEROif your electric fails. Also how fast can you purchase a new freezer if yours quits completely and starts to defrost....what then???? Home Depot nearby??? Do they have a freezer to go in stock. These comments are asked with complete sincerity as I also rely on my medium size chest freezer. It's my very best friend. I'm 73 but have lots of backup due to raising 8 kids. Retired now. I am your biggest fan ....what a great channel!! Thank you for all your hard work. Love 💕😘 from Debbie and Dexter-Dog my sweet tiny rescued Chihuahua companion living a quiet crafty life in southern. 🙋✝️🇺🇸👍🐝😊🏡😘💕🐾🏠
It would be super cool to see you make a video for people who don't have tons of food storage space! I live in a city and my fridge is tiny and there's very minimal pantry space
Pro tip. You can freeze those broccoli slaws if you’re going to throw them in a stir fry later or egg roll in a bowl!
I shop at Krogers the same way! I check out the clearance items first and decide on meals from what I find. Also go to Sams Club- that large bag of broccoli was 3.48 here in Georgia 😊
YES, Nectarines are better, because they are More nutritionist than peaches, also most of the time More Tasteful ❣️
I love white peaches and nectarines over the yellow. Much sweeter.
In answer to your question, we only have a Randals (safeway) a krogers and super Walmart here on the Island of Galveston in Texas . I shop the adds and ad digital coupons .
you are right green is a superior grape, confirmed.
I totally agree on the nectarines! Dislike the fuzzy and stringy peaches.
Oh Yes! Nectarines are SO MUCH better.
This is exactly how I shop! Even if I don't need the "weekly digital deals" I buy them anyway because they're too good of a deal to pass up.
Me too. I’m so stocked now, I can really get away with only buying the “loss leaders” unless I’m preparing something special. Even then, added ingredients are minimal. Loving it!
My husband is scared of clearance food. If I tell him I've gotten something on clearance he'll avoid it. Also, I think the idea of shopping clearance is somehow shameful to him... as if he isn't making enough money for his family. Does anyone else deal with this in their house? I am always looking for a good deal when I shop, even if I have the money to spend on something more expensive. To me, it feels like a big WIN to find a bargain!
Hi Jeri- my hubby has an issue with coupons and bargain hunting. Know what? Take the stickers off n STOP telling him- LOL. IK- u want to brag but call someone who vibes with u and just revel knowing ur doing a GREAT job for your family. Hope this blesses you!
I normally have no problem getting clearance food. I did have one bad experience on the clearance bread rack, where I excitedly picked up one of those tomato or spinach flavored wraps and stuck them in the freezer. A few weeks later, we made sandwich wraps with them and my son noticed mold on one of them. I didn’t see it through the packaging at the store. 🤢 Anyway, I’m somewhat wary around clearance bread, unless it is in completely clear packaging, like the stuff the store makes at the bakery, and it passes the look and “smell test”.
Also, I remember my son was 5 or 6 at the time and he’s 13 now, so this was a long time ago.
Own It And Rock It,
Be Owning It And Rocking It,😎
I make a list in my Dillons app based on sales and coupons so my grocery shopping sometimes looks a little crazy because it's random items but I end up building up the items needed to make various meals over time. I also stick to my list in the app unless I find a good deal on something in the store that I didn't see advertised on the app. I usually save 30%-60%.
But I've found for beef, I go in with my parents and sister to buy a quarter beef from a local ranch. We save hundreds on beef doing this. We each have a chest freezer that we load up a few times a year. Since I can't grill in my apt, I partially grill some of my normal steaks or grill up chicken or pork at my parents' house and then vacuum seal it and pop it in the deep freeze to make quick and easy meals, especially in the summer when I don't want to heat up my apt because it's 105* out.
HI there. I love following your videos. I live in South Africa so there are a huge difference in prices for groceries and all round household/personal care items. I think the biggest difference is that we do not really have 'clearance' shelves/tables/items at our stores here in SA. We do get our brochures/pamflets with the specials for the week/month and also do not have coupons as such. Still love to follow your videos and try to incorporate your tips in my everyday living here. Love the channel!
I love fred meyer! I wasn't sure if you knew this, but those "buy 5 or more" deals are mix and match! So you could get 2 cans of beans and 3 packs of tortillas ect. 😊 In case you didn't need/want to buy 5 of a single item
Yes, I enjoy shopping like this. My favorite spendy store is Safeway. If we get separated in the store, my husband knows to look for me in the meat department hunting for mark-downs. I drive my disabled brother on his weekly errands, so I can also hit up Fred Meyer ad items that day.
The problem I have I only have one grocery store and they don't put clearance things out the people that work there get to have the first pick over the clearance items to me it's not fair
I shop the same way at my local Kroger store. Even have my grown boys clearance shopping.
I love "fend for yourself" leftover night ;-)
"An emergen-cheese" is my favourite new phrase 😂😂
Something we do all of the time now, is when we get a larger amount of something (like ground beef or sausage when it's on sale), and you know it spans more than one dinner. We open the package, divide it into small, dinner-size portions, and freeze it in a plain old freezer bag. We last did it, just for example sake, with onions, we had 5KG about to go bad. Froze it, not in one go, because then it's this huge block you can't break apart anymore, bloody useless LOL, so we did it in portion sizes, small sandwich size baggies. Enough for the bottom of a pot.
Genuinely the hardest part for us is storage as we live in a tiny bungalow. We have one small fridge and no freezer (there is physically no space for one). We also have only three kitchen cupboards for food. We still shop sales which I grew up doing so no challenge there, and I rotate through our favourite/common products and buy a couple of them when they are on sale if they are shelf stable.
Try some “outside the kitchen” storage. Stow shelf stable items under the beds, in the hall closet. In a chest you use as a coffee table. Rolling drawers you keep under the kitchen table. Put shelves a foot from the ceiling around the rooms, stow stuff up there. Your freezer doesn’t have to be in or even near the kitchen, it could even be on a back porch.
I got an amazing deal on miracle whip on clearance for $1.49 plus it had a .55c off coupon attached to it 😊
😮
Nectarines are the best. However, purple is the superior grape.
sharp cheddar cheese is my favorite.
My favorite is HEB here in Texas.
I didn't think I could love you more... Once a Tillamook girl, always a Tillamook girl!!!
The boxed dry red like that are good to keep in the pantry for cooking when you need it. It doesn’t matter if it gets passé bc it’s for cooking and it can sit on a higher shelf and you just reach in and pour however much you need
Thank you for the video!!😊
Sharp Shopper is my go to store. It’s literally saved my life
I have a discount center that I utilize for shelf stable items and discounted bread. I usually go to Aldi for produce, frozen foods and poultry. We get our beef from a local farmer.
I live in Media Pennsylvania USA. Right outside of Philadelphia. I shop at Acme, ShopRite, Giant and Aldi. Acme and Giant are expensive but they have great sales. Love your videos!
Hi Christine… I’ve learned so many great tips from you and am applying them at our local Kroger stores. I always cruise the markdown areas when I visit (haven’t paid full price for bread in ages), especially the meat and seafood areas. Even when I go with a specific list for a recipe, I can sometimes find everything needed on clearance or on sale, or I can substitute something and make it work. No brand loyalty and flexibility are key!
I have never had ripe nectarines. They are hard as rock at the store and never ripen at home. I live near peach orchards so I think nothing tastes better than a tree ripened peach.
And no dessert is tastier than peach cobbler! 🍑
I would love to see you do a video like this with foods that are not uber processed. Part of the reason why my grocery bill is so high is because I try to purchase food as close to its natural form as possible. Broccoli isn't usually on clearance...
Costco has a huge bag of fresh broccoli in the refrigerated produce room for a great price.
"emergen-cheese" had me laughing. excellent work!
Another tip is instead of buying your green yogurt, make it. All you need to make it is a spoonful of Greek yogurt and a jug of milk. You can use fat free milk, if you’re worried about calories.
Boil your milk until it starts to boil.
Let it cool until it is manageably warm to the touch
Add and mix your spoonful of Greek yogurt. I also like to add vanilla to it for flavor.
Let it rest in your oven, covered, for about 8-10 hours.
Watching you from Italy. I agree with the way you shop! Never pay full price and meal plan on what you get on sale. Have a great day.
Fred Meyer and Albertsons have the best clearance- especially if you check their apps!
Fred Meyer and grocery outlet is where I find the best deals
I'm up in Alaska and mainly shop Costco, Walmart, & the local Three Bears Markets (all are 60 to 100 miles away). Tried the Fred Meyer a couple of times and did not enjoy the experience. I stock pile for winter, so my summer food bill is crazy high and my winter food bill is almost zero. Hoping to get some salmon and a moose this year and that will definitely take care of the proteins.
Love Alaska! It is definitely more expensive than mainland U.S.
I really enjoy these videos and they are so helpful for me. I'm 32 with a husband and toddler and I can manage all. the. things. but buying groceries, cooking, etc is rough for both of us. We grew up in families that didn't teach us these things and on food stamps (which ultimately meant lots of sodas, snack cakes, hot dogs, etc in my family) so I'm still really struggling with it all. It seems like even when I follow a recipe I mess it up somehow and our grocery spending is atrocious :( I'm going to check out your pantry video now!
You can do it! Start small. Do a little at a time and you’ll get there. Nobody goes out and completely stocks their pantry all at once. It takes time. Lots of great videos on how to start small and suggestions on what to focus on. Tip…only buy what you’ll actually eat. No great deal is worth it if you won’t actually eat it. You got this!
We have been freezing butter and cheese for awhile now. We shred the cheese before freezing and it is so much easier to throw on pizza, broccoli, etc.
I shop only Dillons for sales and Aldi’s for everything else. ❤❤❤❤Good video. Always learn something.
Absolutely. Nectarines are better than peaches. Food should never be fuzzy!
I got 2 boys that graduated high-school back and forth the oldest is working the yongest is working he want to be a full-time student the good part that the college will work with the students schedule online I'm glad they both finished high-school, i understand about your video, keep those kids busy goodluck to y'all.
We are on a strict diet. Basically aip and paleo, no eggs, dairy, grain free, organic. I love costco, aldi and Walmart for organic. We dont get many sales, when i find them i do buy. You would fall over with how much we spend on food and supplements, but we are using food to heal and stay healthy. Basically all of your staple meals we cant eat anymore. I still love your energy! I adore the new budget videos. Keep up the good work!
I've been shopping this way for years. I started when first married and we didn't make much. We were barely scraping by, but we always ate well.
33 years later, I don't NEED to shop this way, but why WOULDN'T I?! It means more money for other things!
I'm in the Tri-State area and shop at a store called Shoprite. I always check the clearance case first. They have anything from marked down bread to fruit to meat. My absolute favorite find was the Chicken sausage that was marked down 70%. I bought it for about $2 and made sausage, peppers and onions that night. *Chef's kiss*
save a lot is my favorite store ever
I shop at Walmart, Aldi and Dollar Tree as well as Sam's Club.
Egg roll bowls or deconstructed egg rolls can be made with your broccoli slaw if you haven’t tried that. Very quick and easy. I serve over rice just to make it a little more hardy.
Thanks for the good tips 💕
I like to buy the French bread on clearance and freeze. I can pull it out and make French toast with it.
