Carmilla is definitely one of the best hybrid support/tank heroes. I found her play style very similar to Khufra’s, she needs to be hidden most of the time for surprise gankings. I recommend using the Basic Common emblem on her because her skills require a lot of mana and also for hybrid regen, Revitalize is also the best battle spell for her imo.

Yes, for me she is the best support, I got the highest winrate playing her among my other heroes. The item I choose is just pick the pro build with the highest winrate. The most important thing is always focusing on the other teammates during war.
But sometimes I also see the situation where the enemies got heroes like Alucard, I'll pick the build that includes a necklace of durance in one of the items. I always use pro build, never try to build it myself. One time I ever try to play the mage using marksman build, but I lost to the enemy's mage. So now for my own good, never try to do the experiment with the build that is not suitable for their role.

Lemme clear the air, if your team is squishy, you need a setting tank. If your team is bulky and has enough aoe cc, you need a support to provide sustain. If your enemies are bulky, get a support. If your enemies are filled with high burst damage, get a tank. You need to take all of this into consideration. Supports are utility and will never ever, replace a setting tank. AoE CC is KING. Heals are not.
In my opinion, everyone has a unique hero that really suits them and we cant exaxtly tell something is best from all. For example im pretty good with estes but not with other supports.

For carmilla,its best to use the basic emblem instead of tank emblem.

Its because of roam Favor that grants healing to allies when using her 2nd skill. FOTA also grants more shield to allies but with a longer cooldown.
