Wow! What an unexpected find. I was at this show with my bro. I wish we had better seats at the time as we were sitting up in the grass area and the stage was down below. But now, I've got the best seats in the house!! Thank you for the upload!
Right on. I was there too. A special occasion for sure. Carlos and Neal Schon getting together again was outstanding. I remember thinking how amazing, their 20 anniversary! Now it's almost 40 years since then! That was nothing. Wonderful show. 🕉
Thank y’all for this awesome piece of art & joy put on by the great Bill Graham. At his Bay Area Mt. View Shoreline Amphitheater where many greats have entertained us all. Graham’s favorite was always the Santana Band.
Great concert !! Never seen before or IMAGINE at least !! The best musicians from Santana together It was a HEART ATTACK just to attend it and see it LIVE !!!
I saw 3 fantastic Santana concerts in the 80's but only w/ Alex & Greg doing vocals. I would of liked to have seen one w/ Buddy however thanks to you sharing this wonderful show I now can. Great Santana concerts you've been sharing.
They are an extraordinary group, very talented and their singing is indeed very soulful. I used to listen to "Evil ways" and "Black magic woman" regularly which are their golden hits.
Carlos aligns himself with super talented musicians who are also incredible entertainers which is the key to the energy and chemistry of the Santana Band
I commented on this concert years ago & here I am enjoying it still. I see many just don’t see the Rock, Percussion & Jazz Legends in this one line up. Buddy Miles, Chester Thompson ( Tower of Power ) Alphonso Johnson ( Miles Davis Band ) Graham Lear ( Sly Stone Band) & who can forget the Great Carlos himself. Later Schon , Rolie, & the Original Line up. Plus Carlos’s bro & Latin Jazz great Jorge Santana & Jose Chelito Areas the Greatest Latin Percussionist along with Armando Peraza & Raul Rekow. It was musical perfection & a great performance & reunion before the Great Bill Graham lost his life in a tragic helicopter crash along with SRV & others.
Don’t forget Alfonso Johnson on bass another bad ass and Graham Lear the Great on drums. Arguably the best rhythm section in world at the time or possibly ever assembled.
Thank you so much for this full video! Had been looking for it for a while and only owned the second part with the reunion of the old lineup, i would like to know if you could upload the 1987 Berlin show complete uncut with the songs cut in the video and there are in some places as i looked for the DVD and i claimed they exist on video but bizarrely the rebroadcast to television cut them as: Johnny B. Goode, Right Now, Wild Thing and Savor
Santana has had phenomenal keyboard artist over past decades Rollie , Coster , Kermode , Baker , Pascua ,but CT Chester Thompson “Tower of Power” is at the top of my list
Oreste Vilato on timbales absolutely the best percussionist Santana ever had. Arguably the best in the world. So fast and in control His Rhythmic and vocal patterns so authentic a f-kin monster in this show . Even in dueling with three masters themselves Perazza ,Rekow and Chepito
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this was the very last time the full original Santana lineup shared the same stage. (Dave Brown passed away months after this, if I recall correctly.)
@@krusty6246, yeah, they reunited for the Santana IV album and tour. Without Brown (for obvious reasons) and without Chepito Areas. That was actually an idea Schon himself pitched to Carlos Santana back in 2016 after sitting in with the current Santana band for several shows. Chepito and Carlos broke up in bad terms after the flop of Abraxas Pool in the late 90's, an attempt by Chepito to reunite the original core without Santana (in a Spanish language interview in his native Nicaragua Chepito made it obvious he despised his former boss, long story short).
You're right about the last time they played together. David Brown passed away in 2000, he was at the Rock 'n Roll Hall Of Fame induction in 1998 and was replaced by Myron Dove during the performance as he was already ill. Chepito was not invited for the induction and was replaced by Karl Perazzo.
This is a excellent video past and present players n Santana band creativity .longentivity. Finness.i been listening c.s. since the 1st album 2 the present. Over 50 years 😁thanku c.s and many many more beautiful music u bring us😁
Great show ! Buddy Miles ruines the beautiful untitled composition of Neal Schon ! Would have been excellent had they left that song as an instrumental !

to me, his music is LIFE...its beyond music. I almost feel like its nourishment...like something you consume.
Incredible Santana concert,so much energy from the band👍

Also my all time favorite Santana concert. Both bands sounded so good that night. The concert ended too soon after 3 hours
Thanks so much for this, EpicConcerts! Someone once had an upload of the same concerts, but RUclips removed it. Very much appreciated. :)
Buddy Miles teaming with Santana was always a bit rough, but also at times just wonderful.
Un Fantástico concierto del Maestro Carlitos Santana y toda su banda.
OMG...how cool is this? From an old bag😆😆❤️❤️

The best Latin rock music ever played in this planet
7 minutes of Pure Percussive Utopia. Raul and Oresto were in a zone.
Gracias por compatir la buena musica .
Carlos aligns himself with super talented musicians who are also incredible entertainers which is the key to the energy and chemistry of the Santana Band
So this is where Bill Graham's opening speech for the 1992 Milagro album comes from.

Bill Graham : the secret ingredient. Without his belief in an unknown Mission based band in SF the world would be bleak.
Iwas npt here but saw them in petaluma theatrtre
13:20 yes!
does anyone know the name of the song Carlos and Neal jam on together... starts at 2:16:00 ? The 1 Catlis says... this a song Neal wrote !
Cool
Simplemente carlos santana chester thompson alphonso jhonson Raúl rickou Orestes vilato Armando peraza budy miles super efectivo
Fantastic footage! Wish Carlos had kept using Yamaha guitars though, sounded much better in my opinion.

Any body know why the second Santana Band reunion concert was cut short . They were touring with Journey
ความจริงที่เขาขายตำแหน่งเก้าอี้นายกให้ทักษิณมันมีอยู่แค่นั้นก็ไม่ได้ขายชาติทั้งหมดขายคนไทยทั้งหมด

The original band with Neil Schon but without Chepito made an album ,Santana IV,and performed in Las Vegas about 3-4 years ago
