15.55 there has been a whole load of tests- my fecking arse. Jeez. The block's were made by a company that was corrupt used an inferior product and caused mayhem over the years. The people speaking and their dam tests is all about side tracking, delaying and ignoring the issue at large- accountability. But with so many brown envelopes handed out to the Donegal council, so many early retirements, so many that need to appear in court now abroad sunning themselves on 5 star beaches- its become a political mess as no body in office wants to prosecute their buddies on the council. Sheer tripe they spoke those that tested the blocks. That company and everybody on the board of governors need to be sued, and the people have new homes built and paid for by the council. Jeez I forgot there going to claim bankruptcy - why - because of course they handed out their annual funding plus what those concrete nightmare brothers paid them - in fancy large brown envelopes, pensions and new cars for being the main supplier of the blocks for all the building work in the area! And now the council shall claim they cannot pay anyone anything because they're broke ( if anyone tries to now sue them) Bloody lunacy. Sympathy to all affected by this mess.
Since 1990 I have held positions including; Owner, Vice President, Technical Director, Mix Design Manager, Quality Control Manager and more for various construction materials producers, builders and engineering companies focused on: poured concrete, concrete blocks, grout, mortar, soils, aggregates and asphalt paving materials. None of my technical experience is of any immediate help to these homeowners who were sold a faulty product (their home's). The engineers, and Cassidy Brothers attorneys are wasting time and trying to find the exact cause of the faulty block and whose fault it is that these homes are falling apart. One thing we all know for certain is that the homeowners are not at fault. Therefore, the government ought to have paid for the demolition of the defective homes and construction of replacement homes meeting standard performance requirements. Then the government (not the homeowners) need to take the Cassidy Brothers to court to recoup the financial damages. It is that simple.
In a perfect World ud be spot on!However we all live in a modern World where money is "King"-& whilst Cassidys are undoubtedly liable-neither they nor the Govt of the day wish to admit liability due to cost of putting things right!Similar to the Greenfell Tower disaster in UK where Kingspan fabricated Test Results for their cladding for Building Reg Approval!People actually died as a direct consequence but yet again Liability Costs so no one and i mean no one will be held accountable or responsible! The World unfortunately is morally corrupt frm the Top down!
If any company provides a product that they design and make themselves should they not have to have professional indemnity insurance , If this is the case then is the provider of the PI insurance not liable for these issues ,
Lack of state supervision. State bodies should check what goes into construction materials. Simple as. Unless Cassidy Brothers were on notice of the shite. That is
Why you'd have a system of self-regulating in essential building materials is mind-blowing.
This is what the corruption, negligence and lack of accountability from authorities is causing.
Looks like a classes example of a firm cutting costs thinking they will get away with it..

It is crazy that the problem has been known about for so long while politicians sit on there hands and do nothing. Shame on all parties
