- Joliet police were called for primarily domestic violence-related incidents nine times since 2021. Melissa Aud-Headlee took out two orders of protection against her then-estranged husband before he killed her on Saturday.

Felled by a sick individual. This young woman took all the proper steps, but still lost her life to a man who refused to see her as a person intent on moving forward with her life. May she rest in peace. May her family somehow find comfort through this tragedy.

She died a hero for her 3 year old son lord keep your hands over this little 3 years old boy and ensure that he get the help he needs to get through this traumatic experience w/o a mom or cowardly dad

If these women know their crazy ex is violent and going to cause drama then they should not have to wait for paper work to practice their constitutionally protected rights.

People just have no idea what power struggles happen in DV cases. It's not always easy to see the bad guys bc they mask their psychosis. Victims are often met with disbelief and denial. Tragedy upon tragedy 😞

Not because they want to "keep you safe" (lol) but because they want to create the illusion that they're helping you instead of just siphoning money out of the populace.
