It's a terrible movie. So terrible it's good. And Nick Cage carries it all on his shoulders. So I definitely would recommend seeing it

If Antlers is actually a movie about the Wendigo, I’ll be very happy that there’s finally a movie about it.
It is (I know because I've read the short story it's based on), and also there actually are movies about the Wendigo already, but unfortunately not many.

Super Natural had an episode on wendigos. Don't remember if it was accurate but do remember it scared the shit outta me.

It's not enough to just do murder; it's who you do it to that is important. Basically, you have to kill loved ones, family to get that power. And it has to be with intent and malevolence that this is done.
I got "The Ritual" vibes sort of from Antlers. Looking forward to it.

Sputnik was surprisingly good. Kinda always neat to see non-Hollywood movies from countries which do not have a big share of the market and might have a very different approach to a genre.

Watched The Wretched off of another list a few months ago. It is a solid horror movie and made my 'good horror movies' list. And I'm VERY picky about my horror movies.

@@akcikas ‘Talk to me’ is another good horror movie, it came out this year, absolutely watch it when you can if you’re ok with a bit of gore, and I have to recommend my favourite horror film of all time ‘Alien’ from 1979! If you haven’t seen the Alien franchise in full, you have to! It’s wonderful even if Prometheus and Covenant use a lot of CGI, they’re still passable.
And also give Annihalation a shot! Very good pretty recent horror film, wonderful visuals, not very gorey or scary as much as it is anxiety inducing, but an absolutely fantastic film, you’ve likely heard the phenomenal soundtrack before online!
Anyways those are just what I can recommend off the top of my head, definitely check out some horror RUclipsr’s recommendations! They’ll have specific lists you can search up based on your tastes, like if you’re a huge supernatural horror fan or more of a horror/thriller combination kind of person, I have a massive list of movies to watch thanks to RUclips!

Actually pumped for these films although a few from the list have already come out... Brahms The boy 2, The Vigil and Fantasy Island. Best one out of those 3 is easily Brahms

Brahms over the vigil? Really? To each his own, but the vigil was damn good. Brahms was typical. I enjoyed it because I love horror of all kinds, from the same old story and cliches to the cheese fests. So I like brahms the boy 2. But the vigil was by far superior and incredibly dreadful and included true frights, I had real dread building up, real jumps that were part jump scare induced, but mainly induced by the build up and the actual delivery of the scare. And I don’t think I’ve ever seen the story of possession told before in the way it was in the vigil. It was uniquely original and a breath of dreadful fresh air.
Spiral, the new wrong turn and antlers seem like they are gonna be good but also noticed that a lot of these came out in early to mid 2020 it's March 2021

And not only that but Naughty Dog studios came up with the idea of humans getting infected by a mutated strain of the Cordyceps fungus that would then infect the brain of a person, swelling the manengies surrounding the brain causing uncontrollable anger and violence, and allowing the virus to assume control someone to spread upon a population to increase the Cordyceps longevity to survive, and anyone not infected would either get beaten to death, bitten and infect, or killed and become a source of food to the infected or a source of nutrients for the fungus inhabiting in the brain after the infected is near death, allowing for an infected to become a special infected after its body has drained the other bodies around it for nutrients turning the infected into a bloater or fusing with the bodies becoming an amalgamation of multiple people now infected and becoming one due to a mutagenic transformation becoming something similar to the rat king

I wonder why every scary monster / ghost moves slowly when they're appearing? and when the victim see them they start to move faster
Many predators move like that, slow, stealthy approach towards the prey, until they’re spotted and switch to pursuit.
So the movie is trying to appeal to your instinct.
If they didnt do this, then about 90% of the movie protagonists would have been dead in the first 30 minutes each.
