If it's actually 16 stops (or even 14 stops) it will be pretty crazy. Red, Sony, Canon, and Black Magic have always fiddled with the numbers and have 10-13 actual stops of range. Crossing my fingers that this is a good one.
@@cokebottles6919 right? BM have been pretty accurate compared to red. I use a Komodo which I love and have been thinking of upgrading to a 20k + camera but this might actually be the best step up so far.
Thank you for nosing around the camera up close like this. And I appreciate knowing there’s a USB-C option. 4.0 I hope? Although because it’s a module they can always provide updated ports for the camera as media formats mature and change over time. That’s huge, and I don’t think that came up in Grant’s presentation the other day. I’m not quite ready to make the plunge. The price point and capabilities are a bit beyond the needs of my small production business (and commercial spec sheets will keep asking for Sony long after this camera is released), but one of these days.
very cool. I'm not even in the Blackmagic ecosystem anymore but I love that they are still innovating and forcing everyone else in the space to give more and be better. I'd love to play with these new camera systems.
Very interested in how this camera will perform once it gets into the publics hands. If it's close to it's DR claims, has good color, and doesn't do funky things with the rolling shutter and downscaling, it could be crazy good system. Expectations are seriously tempered, but one can dream.
Thank You! & I hope Gyro data can come to the Ursa 12k as well, along with whatever other updates. If you can, ask them is there any pixel remapping options. The original Ursa 12k doesn't have that option.
For the price, this is insane. Coming with 8tb storage as well.. 16 stops of DR, this thing is absolutely incredible.

wow, i need this camera in my life
I hope the Ursa Cine 17K will be under $25k. I would get one if it is!
going with B mount is a swag move
🔥💚
This absolutely destroys the Sony Burano. Buried it.
Thank You!

I saw that the media is PCI-E, so you could directly connect it to a PC motherboard or a Mac Pro with a PCI-E connector directlly.
Did you ask about rolling shutter? (I'm still watching the vid lol)
you are so wrong, there is no reason the sdi out can't send a signal to the old evf from the other 12k if you can find a way to power the evf
If we use the evf on the pyxie, does that mean we can't use SSD since both use usb-c or is there another option for connecting the evf?
Can the WiFi on the camera be disabled?
Set a Makita or Dewalt and you’re ready to go power was probably even cleaner
Does it have pre-roll ?
Gerald needs to undo this
How are those 8tb storages transferred to the PC?
16 stops lol. Still ugly. Clients will never request it
You are clueless lol. 16 stops is easily enough for mainstream cinema production. You think studios buy a camera based on how it looks? 😂
@@hivetech4903 absolutely no studio ever said, let's rent the Yugo of cameras to make our movie. Lol
