Batista's heel turn at Bragging Rights 2009 with him saying "I'm tired of my friends stabbing me in the back and I'm gonna rip your head off Rey" and Rey pleading with Batista by using his first name was great stuff.
I’m glad y’all talked about Adam Pearce because I think he’s the best authority figure they’ve had in more than a decade. He’s believable, and you kind of root for him a little bit. It just feels like you believe his motivations when he like, suspends somebody or makes a match. Like it feels congruent and a part of the show.
Isn’t that the point of the character though? He’s not worthy of being tribal chief, he’s not Roman, that’s literally what his character is meant to be so why are we mad at him for playing it correctly?
I find with finishers is it seems most of the time wrestlers can only win a match by either hitting their finisher or by the surprise roll up. I am probably part of a very small minority when thinking that I'd like to see some occasional wins that aren't somebody's finisher...
The only time Rey has ever done any real character work was the family man character vs heel Eddie, but really hes just a standard face luchador, except when he was in the Rascalz and that was......bad.
Remember in 2008 Kane took Rey's mask and said he killed Rey Mysterio and everyone was anticipating an actual character change for Rey...nope, gotta sell those fucking masks.
I can't picture a world where Dom is a WWE vet and can teach younger talent... but at the same time I can't wait for the world where Dom is a WWE vet and can teach younger talent.
There's NOTHING Roman can do against the new bloodline. For a long time Roman struggled to win his title defenses, needing interference from the bloodline to cheat his opponents. Meanwhile, Jacob Fatu has beaten Cody, Randy and Kevin Owens all at the same time just by himself. As it stands, Jacob Fatu is enough to handle Roman. Even if Roman would team up with Cody, Randy and KO, these guys have lost every single match against the new bloodline. I'm not happy one bit to reach this conclussion.
Hot Take: Mil Mascaras was never eliminated from the 1997 Royal Rumble. He exited the ring going between the top and middle ropes, climbed to the top of the turnbuckle, and jumped to the outside without ever re-entering the ring. He never went over the top rope, and he definitely didn't eliminate himself. (Or if he was trying to eliminate himself, he did a bad job.)
The thing about Dom's character work is that so much of it is grounded on who his father is - almost universally beloved clean-cut baby face who literally fought for his custody in a wrestling ring. That, I think, is what pushed him to the next level when he turned heel - it just wouldn't have had the same effect without that 20-year-plus history. This is not to say Dom isn't doing great character work, he is - but a huge amount is a direct correlation to his father's character in itself, & can't be viewed in a vacuum like Rey's own career could.
Rey in WCW had a great run even when he worked unmasked. He also had great character work with Pentagon JR in Lucha Underground. In 2009 his fued with Jericho was good, but his run in 2002 against Kurt Angle was even better. This plus the work he did with Eddie Guerrero was all better than or at leaast equal to Dom's carrer to date in large part just because Dom can't cut a real promo without getting boo'ed heavily.
I hated Dom until his performance in the last Royal Rumble, He took on everyone that came in and got his ass beat but kept on going. IDK but he kind of made the Royal Rumble for me.
Hot idea... I think they should do something incredibly different and have Dean Ambrose return to WWE while at the same time Jon Moxley is wrestling in AEW. Both companies don't acknowledge the other character/performer exists. And he never acknowledges it either. I think it would be a cool thing to see over a year.
Fun fact: You guys reacting to Karrion Kross’ return is your most viewed video on this channel. Even more than you reacting to Cody’s return at Wrestlemania. Karrion Kross confirmed a better draw than Cody Rhodes.
I've always said Promo, character, story, over in ring ability every day of the week for me and for the best Wrestling. Rey might be the only one who is the exception to that rule. Rey is good and over just as Rey is and it's always been more than enough.
People wanted Reigns to turn heel back during the big dog days, but if I remember correctly people thought he was main event worthy. Seems like Solo's detractors just don't think he's good enough in the ring. I do think we have higher expectations for in-ring now than we did in 2017ish.

The issue isn't that Solo sucks.
It's that both Tama Tonga and especially Jacob Fatu are miles ahead of him, and more worthy of being top guys.
Tama has the added history of calling Roman out in the late 2010s too
Solo is the 3rd best worker in the Bloodline 2.0 and the only reason he isn’t dead last is because Tanga Loa can’t go 5 seconds without botching
Isn’t that the point of the character though? He’s not worthy of being tribal chief, he’s not Roman, that’s literally what his character is meant to be so why are we mad at him for playing it correctly?
When The Rock comes back there will be a Collision, he will go on a Rampage and it will be Dynamite TV.
The Rock: "And then i told Tony Khan you should create your own wrestling company and name its main show Dynamite"
Would you say you’re… All In on that idea?
I find with finishers is it seems most of the time wrestlers can only win a match by either hitting their finisher or by the surprise roll up.
I am probably part of a very small minority when thinking that I'd like to see some occasional wins that aren't somebody's finisher...
One Winged Angel is a protected finish but most opponents should be pinned after something brutal like a V Trigger
I think just about everyone wants that. I know I do.
Maybe Mysterio's best work was with Batista, maybe
Rey's best work was Heel makless mysterio in the 90s
The Filthy animals were a solid faction. The giantslayer run he had was fun as well.
Ehh I guess
.by default
🤮
Max Dupri didn't help LA Knight because he could have debuted as LA Knight and literally nothing changes other than time not being wasted as Max Dupri
I need the "Larson and his parents" reality show 😂
Its gold Jerry.

You either die the hero, or live long enough to see yourself become "Those Other Guys..."
15:14 "Crack is awesome" is QUITE the hot take lol
LA Knight is living proof that originality doesn’t matter in wrestling
I can't picture a world where Dom is a WWE vet and can teach younger talent... but at the same time I can't wait for the world where Dom is a WWE vet and can teach younger talent.
Agreed Friendo Club > Going in Raw.
Bring WsteveW back and Fun Wrestling. That was peak GIR

A Keith Lee overhand chop? HECK YES.
And Andrade’s
We all know who does the most iconic chops.. Throw those ones up for The INFAMOUS Tonga Loa!! ☝
It's been nearly 30 years since the term was incepted and people still can't tell X-Pac Heat apart from proper Heel Heat.

Knife edge chops are safer, it’s easier to angle your hand to get the angle for a loud noise while not creating a handprint
An Overhand Chop is basically a slap

The question becomes "Can Dom Mysterio stand without Rhea's latent heat?"
Rey’s best character work imo Batista & Eddie
Dom should of been the first active men's World Champion in The Judgement Day
I don't watch going in raw but I watch both this and wrestlejuice
These takes are almost as hot as the fresh Friendo Club star ratings after a PPV
Rey is my all time favorite wrestler but Dom’s character work has been more interesting for sure
There's enough talent to justify a 40-people Rumble now 🤷♂
Fun fact: You guys reacting to Karrion Kross’ return is your most viewed video on this channel. Even more than you reacting to Cody’s return at Wrestlemania. Karrion Kross confirmed a better draw than Cody Rhodes.
I always liked overhand chops more because of penta his always seem like they hurt like hell and they make hella noise.
Rey with the filthy animals 👏🏽
I've always said Promo, character, story, over in ring ability every day of the week for me and for the best Wrestling. Rey might be the only one who is the exception to that rule. Rey is good and over just as Rey is and it's always been more than enough.
Steve, "I love the crack. The crack is awesome" -2024
#HotTakes: Solo still hasn't proven why he got called up from NXT, he's just the wrong guy in the right spot
Jacob Fatu will be WWE Champion at the next Wrestlemania
it feels like they are going back to raw being the edgy entertainment show and smackdown being the wrestling entertainment show again honestly
When solo gets into full gear … he will get the crowd behind him 😂
No mask Rey in wcw was great imo
HELL YEAH
Wait LA Knight doesn't stand for Louisiana Knight? lol
Well now you have a chance to watch the times you wasn't watching with peacock
15:15
Hot take... "Crack is Awesome"...
CRACK IS AWESOME
there's no way with that Rey character 'hot take'. Rey is top 3 pure babyfaces of all time.. his character is everyone cheers for him.
Steve and Larson is so smart having the fans deliver hot takes instead of them unlike…THOSE OTHER GUYS
Does la knight only get over because hes a knock off stone cold
The Miz is better in the ring and on the mic than LA Knight
But doesn't have the Kevorkah of LA Knight. We proved this last year when they had a feud
People wanted Reigns to turn heel back during the big dog days, but if I remember correctly people thought he was main event worthy. Seems like Solo's detractors just don't think he's good enough in the ring.
I do think we have higher expectations for in-ring now than we did in 2017ish.
I mean even 2013 Shield, hot tag Roman Reigns was a miles better worker than Solo is.
People say Roman was thrown down their throats but so was Cena and people like him
Holy chit... 2nd view and comment
Hot take: Liv Morgan's career is better than the four horsewomen career combined.
Laziest form of content possible. What a tired concept
@@Schwartzzz what's up your butt
I think the issue is that so many youtubers have been overusing the hot takes format recently
if you dont like it dont watch it. They've been doin that for a year plus, its fun
Is that your hot take?
@@timytimeerased Nothing is continually fun for a year plus if it stays the same
